- From US$70.47 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 75 reviewsMy stay in Dugi Otok was nothing short of unforgettable, thanks to Amacord Skola and its owner, Bea. As my bus transported me from the ferry to the idyllic and serene Veli Rat, I entered the beautiful house, found Bea at the doorstep, I instantly knew it was the place to be. The house itself exuded a vintage charm, with doors and windows adorned in hues of the sea across the street. My room was very neat and pretty, with the window opening to the picturesque view of the sea. The bathroom was spotless. Bea told me I was very welcomed at the family’s bar at Sakarun beach, a delightful surprise that further enhanced my stay. A leisurely 25-minute walk or a 10-minute bike ride (complimentary for guests) from the house led to the best beach on the island, Sakarun. The bar/restaurant Amarcord situates directly on the beach, nestled beneath the soothing shade of towering trees. I found myself spending most of the time here, either reveling in the crystal-clear waters or lounging at the bar, sipping on fine wines and indulging in delectable lunch. The food was so fresh and delicious. With super reasonable prices, I was fortunate enough to savor the catch of the day, prepared by Bea's husband, a fisherman and an excellent chef. My lunch that day was a big plate with grilled fish and calamari, a homemade salad, some breads and it was a true taste of heaven. It was authentic homegrown food made with love, sort of like at your grandma’s. Bea would offer to drive me sometimes with her scooter between the house and the beach. Meeting Bea and her husband was a genuine pleasure. Their kindness and warm-heartedness left an indelible mark on my memory.Guest review byThuGermany
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.1Very good - What previous guests thought, 372 reviewsThe location; the sound of the breeze through the pinetrees and the sound of the waves you can hear from the room. The sea within a few minutes' walk. Breakfast is simple, but good! The fact that it is included in the room rate is a definite plus. The hotel is not the most recent, but my room was spotless and the towels smelled nice. There is a frige in the room and for who wants, a TV. Plus plenty of space to store your things in the room and bathroom. These details matter to me personally. The staff were very friendly and service minded. Special mention to Sylvia behind the reception desk who made me feel as if I was a regular guest as from the beginning. With her sparkling enthusiasm, she shared plenty of tips about things to do and what to see on the island. I enjoyed my stay very much and can't wait to go back!Guest review byBrigitteGoNetherlands
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.4Superb - What previous guests thought, 16 reviewsThe stay in the apartment was truly pleasant. The studio is small, but it has everything necessary for a complete vacation, and the kitchen is well-equipped. An added bonus is the outdoor terrace with a sea view. The local beach is a 5-minute downhill walk and about 10 minutes uphill. The host, Tvrtko, was extremely approachable and hospitable. Savar is located right in the middle of Dugi Otok, making it an ideal starting point for exploring the island. It is recommended that you buy groceries for your stay in Zadar before taking the ferry, as the only larger store is located in the town of Sali and is naturally more expensive than mainland stores. We visited in June - peace, tranquility, no crowds - if you enjoy that kind of vacation, Dugi Otok is perfect.Guest review byDanielaCroatia

The apartment is really beautiful, perfectly clean, and decorated with great attention and taste. The location is irresistible, situated right on the waterfront, providing a stunning view of the sea and allowing for leisurely walks during evening. I highly recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a peaceful and pleasant vacation with top-notch service from the hosts.Guest review byMonikaCroatia

A small village with everything you need.
A small village with everything you need. We went to beaches all over the island. The advantage of Sali is the nearby national park Telascica. There was also an exceptional restaurant in Sali called Garoful. I highly recommend a visit.Guest review byTomas_RCzech Republic - 10.0

Little village full of nice people that are greeting you every time they see you. 2 stores, Studenac is well equipped. Nice beaches, enough space for everybody, so you feel like there is nobody with you. Super clean and clear sea, beautiful blue and green colors. 4 restaurants, all kinds of food for everybody. A lot of cats 😊 Super calm place for vacation without any compromise.Guest review byMaja J.Croatia - 8.0

As much as Luka is very Tourist dependent, it has a rich culture of locals who return for the summers. This makes it a very Croatian village with a ton of charm. Eat at the Konoba (really good food!) or at home (the village market has a reasonable selection and better prices than the nearest grocery store), swim anywhere, bring a book - the internet and cell coverage is spotty - and relax!Guest review byKalenGermany - 8.0

A lovely village with a small grocery shop, marina (renting bicycles and scooters), two restaurants and good paths for a stroll. Both the lighthouse and the Sakarun beach are within a walkable distance.Guest review byGintareUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Zman and other small villages on the island of Dugi Otok...
Zman and other small villages on the island of Dugi Otok were the perfect getaway from the busy city life. Nature all around. Local slow village life. You need to rent a car to get around comfortably around the island. We mostly made our own food in the apartment.Guest review byMarieIndia - 8.0
A small village slightly descending to the harbor.
A small village slightly descending to the harbor. It has 2 restaurants - Gorgonia and Branco and one small grocery. In near proximity there is a nice small camping Madarino also with a good restaurant. The location of Verunić is good for exploring the northern tip of the Dugi Otok island. All the sea around this village is rather sheltered from the outer ocean so it is coinvenient for swimming and paddleboarding. All interesting sites (Sakarun beach, the lighthouse...) are within few kilometers by car or bicycle and you need not to conquer steep slopes. Of course, to get there you need to take a ferry Zadar (Gaženica) - Brbinj (approx. 1.5hrs) and then drive some 15km North. So this is extra cost/time to the trip and you need to adjust to the timetable. In high season it might be practical to pre-book the ferry at jadrolinia.hr.Guest review byPetrCzech Republic - 10.0
Sali is probably the best base to use on the island.
Sali is probably the best base to use on the island. It has a ferry to Zadar three times a day, loads (maybe 5 or 6) restaurants, a sizable supermarket and quite a few cafe's and taverns. It also has a helpful tourist office where you can rent cars or scooters, although these are not cheap. The only petrol station on the island is in the next village about 4kms away. Talascia NP is a 5 minute drive away from the town and well worth a day trip. All the beaches are shingle and aren't really beaches, just little coves. The very best is half way up the island and directly across on the opposite side of the island to Brbinj. Very difficult to find without google maps set to satellite mode which shows the actual concrete access road. A one hour drive will take you the full length of the island.Guest review byWilliamIreland - 8.0
Quiet coastal village with harbour on Dugi Otok.
Quiet coastal village with harbour on Dugi Otok. Has 3 reasonable restaurants, 1 shop, 2 hotels and a daily passenger ferry from Zadar. It is only about 2km across the island to sandy Sakarun beach and other nearby places. There is also a daily bus that connects Bozava with Veli Rat and Brbinj that has a car ferry to Zadar. Getting around the island is a bit limiting unless you hire a car on the mainland and bring it over on the ferry.Guest review byColin AyersUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Very nice, cozy place.
Very nice, cozy place. We ate dinner couple of times in Cookhouse & Bar GAROFUL. It is nice place to have a meal with beautiful sea view. From Sali it is very easy to get to other part of the Long island, and to organize nice boat trip to Kornati national park and Telascica nature park. All in all, I was quite impressed with Sali and Long island in general with all that beauty and big blue I saw around. It is worth of visiting at least once in your life time. Strongly recommended! :-)Guest review byAndreaCroatia - 10.0
Dober dan! We had such a wonderful stay in Bozava!
Dober dan! We had such a wonderful stay in Bozava! The staff was wonderful, the breakfast was exceptional, the rooms were nice with a beautiful view of the sea and the village. The beds were very comfortable, clean room and the grounds were very well maintained. The restaurant's in the village were quaint with exceptional menus, food and service. The people in the village were kind and welcoming and we are already planning a return visit. The church service on Sunday was divine. The tour around the island was breathtaking. This visit exceeded all my expectations of my first of many visits to the island of Dugi Otok! Well done Bozava! What a gem!! Magnifico!Guest review byNancyUnited States
