First thing is the communication of the hotel before the trip: they were very serviceable, kind and quick to reply. Second, the rooms were clean and comfortable and had everything they needed and more (hairdryer in the bathroom, earpicks and cotton tuffers etc). The staff was also very kind. Breakfast was delicious and had ample of choice, something for everyone's taste. Beautiful area, with options for sightseeing, as well as, great walking trails in the Mecsek park close by. Fortress on top of the hill a must see, and it's restaurant has fantastic food for a reasonable price. Town next door has an interesting decorated easter egg collection of over 3000 pieces, one more beautiful than the other. To me, Pécs was a very positive surprise. When deciding to stop there for a rest day on a 3 week motorcycle trip around Europe, I was hoping for some urban area where I would not get bored the first hour. With no research before arriving, we went for dinner the first night, and happened upon an outdoor restaurant in the castle ruins. On the surface it looked like a tourist trap, but food, service and pricing was great. The next day we went for a walk, again without much research and explored the center of the city, a very beautiful and historically important area as we learned. We had great food in some of the many restaurants, and we visited the UNESCO Heritage ruin as well as the basilica / cathedral. All in all, I am impressed.Guest review byKaiNorway - 4.0

Harkany is a small quiet town and when we walked in the evening, some local restaurants (csarda) we saw on Google maps were closed (February). We tried to enter some restaurants at 20h and were told that the kitchen is closed at 18h. Everything is closed in this town in the evening. Funny, but the only way to find some food was to go to Spar supermarket and get some ready-to-go cooked food. Only another thing we found working in the evening was Tenkes Csarda, 6km drive by car. Villany is easily walkable for great wine and food. Everywhere we went was dog-friendly! We loved Bock restaurant (dog friendly inside!) and Fritsch is a gem - delicious wine and an amazing price! We stocked up here! We enjoyed our stay at Eckhardt Panzio (so happy they had a cancellation after our disappointing evening at Halasi) Definitely check out the castle in Siklos. Well, what everybody will rather dislike is the current inflation and, consequently, rising prices, but this rise is not that huge. Harkany is an ideal place for relaxation, swimming, lying on the grass in the park where the pools are located, and doing nothing apart from enjoying your time there. If you like the wine offered in the bar located next to the main entrance to the strandfurdo, visit the vinery - its owner is Gergen Birtok and you`ll find his shop in Siklos-Gyod, Jaro Peter ut.35.
