FAQs about hotels in Bali
An Island Dream
The dream destination of Bali is where volcanic landscape meets lush rice terraces and pristine beaches. Not to mention the fantastic surfing, cheap shopping and pervading spirituality that have made this Indonesian island a long-time favourite for backpackers.
The island’s capital is Denpasar in the south, but its surf and party capital is nearby Kuta. Swaying palm trees line the beach here and many more cover the grounds of the Bali hotels on the beach in more exclusive Seminyak to the north.
On the island’s north coast, Pemuteran beach offers lovely views of the sloping mountains heading towards the Bali Sea. Many beaches on this coast are black sand, including sweeping Lovina beach from where dolphins can often be seen. Tulamben in the east is one of the better diving resorts in Bali, while Sanur is a popular option for families.
Ubud is the island’s cultural capital and houses a monkey sanctuary in its jungle-like landscape. An ancient Hindu temple is found here, but the best-known temple is Tanah Lot, surrounded by water. There are also hundreds of fantastic spas in Bali, as well as meditation and yoga classes that you can join.
Whether you choose to stay inland or by the beautiful coastline, Booking.com has a great range of villas, guest houses and hotels in Bali.

Every food I ordered arrived fast, and every single dish was fresh and delicious. They 've got a good chef. Hendra, my butler, was very nice and kind. He helped with every little thing I needed even cleaning, serving food, and taking to new places in the resort. He knew what I needed. The ocean view...the swimming pool... people... everything is fantastic! I 'd love to come and visit again soon.Guest review bySANGHYUKSouth Korea

The rooms are spacious with magical views and scenery. The in-resort activities are amazing that we barely left the place on our check out date! The food is amazing. The cleaning teams deep-clean the entire room within 10 minutes!! The pool is magnificent with a view of the jungle and rushing river streams. The staff are incredibly helpful and polite.Guest review byRaedSaudi Arabia

The staff were very friendly, they helped us out of the car with umbrella and everything. We had to leave for tour so we left bags with no issues. Tour reception Sang was very welcoming and informative. She’s very good and speaks well too. I also used the spa Suraya spa facility, it was worth it, the Jaccuzi, Sauna, steam, full body massage.Guest review byRacquelPapua New Guinea

Ubud is a truly enchanting destination that captures the heart of Bali’s culture and natural beauty. Surrounded by lush rice terraces and tropical forests, it offers a perfect balance of tranquility and vibrancy. The local people are warm, welcoming, and deeply connected to their traditions, making every encounter feel genuine. The food scene is exceptional, from authentic Balinese dishes to creative modern cuisine, reflecting the area’s rich cultural roots. Ubud’s blend of art, spirituality, nature, and hospitality makes it an unforgettable place to experience.Guest review byStefanosCyprus - 10.0
Kuta is now the quieter part of Bali.
Kuta is now the quieter part of Bali. Legian through to Canggu is the busier area now. Kuta is great for restaurants and bars. More suited to middle aged. Beach is not as good as Legian or Sanur, but acceptable.Guest review bysargentsteveAustralia - 8.0
Canggu is a party place more than sightseeing.
Canggu is a party place more than sightseeing. The beach close is quite nice (also for surfing) and in the night you can go close to the beach to visit some bars and clubs. The vibe is constantly there. You can also join some local hostel events and meet people there which is nice. More of a young people place, but always worth a visit.Guest review byVizintinSlovenia - 10.0
Always somewhere to eat in Seminyak.
Always somewhere to eat in Seminyak. From bustling Eat Street to the quieter back streets. Ginger Moon is one of my go to places for food and Sea Circus for a great breakfast. Ku De Ta has been upgraded to a beach club atmosphere. I think I’d give it a miss next time as it has lost its ambience of a relaxed place to watch the sun go down now that they have a pool which was full of families. Easy to navigate by foot, plenty of relaxation or activity. Local convenience stores and money changer are easily accessible.Guest review byCharleneAustralia - 6.0

Uluwatu is much more expensive and luxury compared to the rest of Bali. The place is under a massive construction renovation, there are construction site everywhere so it will be very different in a couple of years. We enjoyed our 4 days there but there is definetly less activities except for luxurious cliff restaurant and beach clubs.Guest review byAliceAustralia - 10.0

Less busy than some of the other resorts , the beach is pleasant with plenty of shade and sun lounges. There is a lovely paved beach walk which stretches for about 4 km, along which there are bars and restaurants, bike hire is available along this stretch. This is preferable to walking along the pavements with their usual Bali trip hazards and death-traps! At time of writing both sides of the pavements were being dug up and man-sized holes installed every few metres!!! I would definitely choose Sanur over the crowds and mayhem of Seminyak/Kuta/Legian. There are the usual tourist-tat shops and a good selection of cafe, bars and spas.Guest review byKatieAustralia - 10.0
I loved everything I saw here, just wish I could have stayed...
I loved everything I saw here, just wish I could have stayed longer. I stayed at Prapat Beach, which was close enough to Penida Ferry Port and stunning, with an amazing view of Agung on a clear day. My accomodation was in a great spot and is as advertised. Sari Nadi Beach Stay is only a few k's from the harbour but with traffic, it took around 30mins. I did a tour of West island beaches, which I found disappointing because it was so busy, shoulder-to-shoulder busy! It felt it was impossible to really enjoy it with so many people. The walk down to Kelingking Beach might have been worth it if you didn't have to keep stopping for someone to get their perfect shot! The drive through the countryside was worth it alone though, and if your new to the island, it's a great way to get your bearings for a return visit. Crystal Beach was my pick of the beaches, just don't forget to bring a towel or change to hire one and a bed. Otherwise, you can sit at a table. Overall, I can't wait to go back! One tip, check if there are any days of (religious) observance when you stay. My stay coincided with Nyepi Laut, 'Silence of the Ocean' which means no water activity, great for me because it meant peace and quiet but not if you needed to travel that day.Guest review bySharonAustralia - 10.0

Legian is the perfect location. There are many hotels along the beach side which makes it extremely easy to access. Legian is an easy stroll to many desirable restaurants and the shopping is amazing.Guest review byCarolineAustralia - 10.0

So good we wanted to stay longer, will definitely be returning. Just such a relaxing place to visit. The beaches on the island were beautiful with clear blue water. We ate out in restaurants and cafes. The Deck was amazing for breakfast, drinks and dinner. Also, Lemongrass was another highlight for dinner. It's only a small island so, easy to get around on scooters, but taxis were easy to come by and reasonably priced if you want to have a few drinks.Guest review bySharonAustralia - 8.0
Great hotel in the middle of some lovely restaurants.
Great hotel in the middle of some lovely restaurants. Rooms are tired in need of upgrades and painting , but were clean and a very powerful shower. Staff were amazing and a good buffet breakfast with fresh omelette/pancakes. Pool area was relaxing and could do with a few more sunbeds. Didn’t get to the beach but a good shuttle service available. Supermarket and ATM just across the road.Guest review byJayneUnited Kingdom
