The grounds were peaceful and beautiful. It is such a serene area to get away from the hustle and bustle. There is nothing better than getting a massage listening to the sound of the river and nature in the area in front of your own little hut. The huts were gorgeous. Staff were super friendly and attentive. A little paradise on a private island! Komang banana pancakes were the best I've ever had! Cannot get enough of his Banana pancakes!!

Very new and beautiful hotel with amazing view on rice fields and Mount Agung (if it’s not cloudy). Very good service, extremely attentive and friendly! We liked the infinity pool with great views. All the dishes we tried at the restaurant were delicious. Also the breakfast menu has a wide selection of continental breakfast as well as Indonesian.

Had a great stay! The studio's are wonderful: beautifully decorated, brand new, super clean and with a beautiful view overlooking the ocean. The owners and staff were super friendly and helpful! This brand new place feels like a little piece of paradise. It is located directly on the beach, with an amazing infinity pool. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming and they offer great freshly prepared food. The warm colors and the eye for details create a very nice and relaxing atmosphere. The tents are amazing with super comfortable beds, warm lights and a very modern feel. You can dive right into the original Balinese culture and watch the stars at night while listening to the sounds of the ocean. Thanks so much to Pim and all staff for giving us this great experience, we had a wonderful stay and can't wait to come back!

    Our stay at Wapa di Ume was exceptional. The stunning location and beautiful facilities are reason enough to stay, but it was the staff who truly made our experience unforgettable. Ayu gave us a warm welcome and supported us throughout our stay, always responding promptly on WhatsApp and greeting us by name with genuine warmth. Gede, our tour guide and driver, went above and beyond to personalise our trip, his kindness and local knowledge made our time in Sidemen even more special. We recommend both the Gembleng Waterfall Tour and local sightseeing tour with Gede. The cooking class was a highlight, fun, engaging, and led by staff with a great sense of humour. We also had a lovely chat with the hotel manager, Sri, who embodied the same incredible hospitality. On arrival, we were surprised with a complimentary bottle of wine, cake, a happy anniversary message, and a flower bath, and when we left we were given a parting gift, such thoughtful touches that reflect the care this hotel gives to its guests.

    Luckily my wife and I booked this Resort for 3 nights in the beautiful region of Sidemen. The personal of the Sawah Indah was extraordinary helpful and courteous. We had a bungalow that was located a little hidden on the property with an open bathroom (partial open roof) and a nice sitting area at the entrance of the bungalow. The breakfast had two options, Balinese or Western type – where we always chose the Balinese breakfast of course. It was also possible to get it as a vegetarian version. The restaurant of the Sawah Idah was also very good for dinner, still, alternative Warungs and other restaurants are available within minutes by foot. A comfortable bed for the night guaranteed a recharge after exciting day trips around this magnificent region of north-east Bali. Unfortunately, we haven’t had the opportunity to go in the swimming pool, but it looked fantastic in the scenery of the beautiful garden and surrounding rice fields.

    My stay was fantastic! The room was beautiful, very spacious, with a huge window offering the most amazing view! Every morning, I would wake up and swim in the pool while enjoying the lush greenery all around. The room was incredibly well-equipped with water, a fridge, a kettle for tea or coffee, shampoo, body lotion, and more. The staff was discreet, always smiling, and eager to help. There were plenty of breakfast options, and everything was delicious. I will definitely stay at the same hotel again the next time I visit Sidemen.

    Just a fantastic place. The China Villa is furnished with beautiful Balinese furniture, it has 4 rooms with en-suite bathrooms, a beautiful outdoor area (a dining table for 10, a kid's table, a bed, 2 sofas, a huge sitting area, sun beds...), a kid's and adult's pool, just for the China Villa. It is right at the beach, but it's not so easy to enter the ocean because of the rocky beach. The service is just outstanding. Wayan, Made and Intan cooked for us and were just perfect.

    Lovely breakfast by the beach in the hotel restaurant. The reef is intact with beautiful corals and fish and I it was a short swim from the beach to see them. There are boat rides to farther reefs, cars to sunset viewing and visits to holy sites, temples and waterfalls. This was a small, very peaceful and well maintained property.

    Amed was lovely, found some great eating places that were really reasonable. Gusto, Galangal, Warranga Amed with live music and fabulous hosts, Sunset view restaurant )the lower key more traditional one) the other Sunset view was too upmarket and commercialised. We loved riding around on the scooters and felt it was quiet enough to feel safe. Really enjoyed getting up into the hills from there to see the rural lifestyles.

    I have been to Bali many times and tell people "it's not all traffic, crowds and beach clubs; you will find that Bali you want to find" For me, that is Sidemen, which feels like Ubud 50 years ago. So lush and beautiful. I did a silver jewellery workshop, and the rice terraces trek. I wanted to go white-water rafting, but I am over 64 years old and they had no insurance coverage for someone my age. On a previous visit, I combined a few days on Gilli Air with a few days in Sidemen as it is close to Padang Bai. It is a great location for exploring central and east coast Bali. Traffic is not too bad. The climate is a littler cooler than the coast which makes a nice respite.

    Padangbai took me back in time to the Bali of old. Its quite rustic and primitive looking in parts. Most of the restaurants are quite old. We only ate at our hotel OK Divers Resort, where the restaurant and food was very good. NIce place to visit but only a couple of days at most.

    I have been travelling around Bali for some time and I have come to a conclusion. Bali is about Earth Energy and there are 4 elements in which it excels. Central Bali, Ubud and heading North for Jungle Energy....intense and slightly chaotic. The Peninsula for expansive Ocean Energy, connecting you to something bigger, and Rock Energy...grounding, stabilising. Then you have Candidasa. Candidasa is the Energy of the Hills, the Green Healing Hills. Take your bike off the main road and you will be driving closer and closer to the foot, then keep driving, up and up, for absolutely breath taking views of dense greenery with traditional structures scattered in the distance. Breathtaking.

The water is calm, visibility is great, and marine life is rich, from colourful coral to bumphead parrotfish. The famous USAT Liberty wreck is a must-see, accessible right from shore. It’s also a great place to learn diving – many friendly, professional instructors and dive centres around. Whether you're a beginner or ean xperienced diver, you'll love it here.     An off beat location, which is actually peaceful and great...

    An off beat location, which is actually peaceful and great for nature lovers, adventure seekers and history lovers. It is close to the mother temple of Bali (15 minutes), Blue lagoon diving and Snorkeling, p Pura Tirta and the most amazing rafting site. So a 3-night stay at this place is ideal to cover east Bali and then you can go to Ubud.

    It's a surfers paradise but not for us old couples.

    It's a surfers paradise but not for us old couples. The place will be very nice if the owner take time to make it clean like clean sheets, new mattress with on bed bugs. The bathroom and toilets spruced up. Nothing much to see there except to surf and relax.

    Seraya is definitely a place to recommend. If you are looking for authenticity, pristine beaches (Virgin beach), local culture (Lempuyang Temple, Tirta Gangga Water Palace & Local Coffee Farm, etc.), you will definitely love the place!

    We stayed just one night to visit the Gates of Heaven.

    We stayed just one night to visit the Gates of Heaven. I feel is enough to see the surroundings and have a feel of the place. We found the tickets a bit expensive. I mean is a nice place but not to pay 10$. You can see Tirtagangga in 20 minutes, depending on whether you are an instagramer and you take selfies in every corner, then you can stay there for over an hour, although is very difficult to take good selfies as there are people everywhere. Around the entrance, there are a few restaurants and shops. But please I would say to the owners or whoever takes care of this place, tell people not to feed the fish. They are huge! and it's because the shops nearby sell food so you can take a picture with the fish.

    Amed is one of my favourite places I have visited in Bali!

    Amed is one of my favourite places I have visited in Bali! I love that the reefs are right in front of the beach, you don’t need to take a boat or guide, just jump straight in to see so many fish and turtles! I went diving and I wish I stayed longer to explore more. The people are super kind and helpful. It is a little hard to get around though since there are no Grabs. If you can learn, it’s best to rent a bike. But other than that, take your time to explore Amed!
