Our stay at Neano Escape was everything we have imagined if not better. The staff was especially helpful and the view was extraordinary. If you are looking for a stay in a quiet environment I would truly recommend this place. The hotel is also close to the port to the Gili Islands.

I loved everything about Louka. I stayed there three nights to relax and unwind travelling solo- I couldn’t have picked a better place: Louka is a paradise on earth. Not just for the breath-taking location, style, and services but also for the feeling. The atmosphere is very intimate, chic and every detail of the resort is looked after wonderfully. The staff is adorable and you have the feeling of visiting an old friend but in complete privacy and tranquillity. The private cottage was spacious, cosy with Balinese furniture and details. You can enjoy the main pool or the more private one- as well as different relax areas. The massages and food were great as well. I hope to come back soon!

    The hotel is located in quite area but in the same time you are not totally isolated : the hotel provides a option to transfer to nearest village with restaurants and some shops (not big one, no shopping malls, but enough to buy souvenirs or if you forget anything for your holiday stay). There are few good restaurants in the walking distance + few restaurants on the territory of hotel. All restaurants on the territory were good with nice food and service. Additionally there is small restaurant on the beach with Indonesian food, what is not part of the hotel but also very good option for meal with sunset view. Territory is green, very clean. We saw how many people look after it every day. Great service in the rooms, every day cleaned a room, changed towels every time when we asked and not asked. The beach and ocean is good. I would not say perfect but there no any link with hotel it’s just ocean full of plastics and rubbish. But because of rifs in front of beach, there is quite clear water for swimming, all rubbish left behind rifs. Hotel staff was cleaning the beach every morning - clear sand, enough space for everyone. Rooms are not new, but in very good conditions. We chose villa with swimming pool, and water in swimming pool was always clean. Again, every morning staff came to look after pool. One more time I want to highlight very high level of service. For any of our requests we got support.

    The hotel is located at Candidasa, it is very cosy and clean with the wonderful garden and water pool on the territory. The nearest beach where you can swim is just several steps down to the coastline and there is Candidasa beach 20 mins on foot, there are alot of shops and cafes in the vicinity. The hotel has 2 sets for breakfast which can fully satisfy you. We had a wonderful stay at the hotel. We booked a bungalow with the seaview, it was cosy and clean. In particular,I would like to draw your attention to the hotel stuff, these people were very polite and always were ready to help us with recommendations where to go and what to see around. Especially big thanks to Mrs Yeny and Mrs Komang, they were always eager to help us with any advice. I would strictly recommend you to have a stay here, you won't be disappointed definitely.

    We loved the nostalgic old wooden kampung house, the beautiful pool, the sea views and the staff! We also loved that the Kampung is surrounded by rice paddies. Having breakfast every morning on the large patio while sipping coffee and watching the ocean was a great way to start our day. Private massage can be arranged on the pool deck and evening BBQ's are available at a reasonable extra cost. Arranging transportation was very easy and Ketut and the rest of the staff are lovely and attentive. Water pressure is a big bonus and beds have mozzie nets. The AC is also outstanding. There is an Aldi's down the road (within walking distance) where they sell lots of expat provisions (ie wine, yogurt, jams, fresh baked breads, etc). There are smaller local shops nearby as well.

    Loved Amed but was only there for 2 nights, would definately go back for longer. Beautiful people and amazing local food. Great spot if you dont want the hussle and bussle of Kuta/Seminyak or Legian. The black beach was gorgeous and the sunsets were amazing, Great place for divers/snorkelling and fishing.

    I have been to Bali many times and tell people "it's not all traffic, crowds and beach clubs; you will find that Bali you want to find" For me, that is Sidemen, which feels like Ubud 50 years ago. So lush and beautiful. I did a silver jewellery workshop, and the rice terraces trek. I wanted to go white-water rafting, but I am over 64 years old and they had no insurance coverage for someone my age. On a previous visit, I combined a few days on Gilli Air with a few days in Sidemen as it is close to Padang Bai. It is a great location for exploring central and east coast Bali. Traffic is not too bad. The climate is a littler cooler than the coast which makes a nice respite.

    Padangbai took me back in time to the Bali of old. Its quite rustic and primitive looking in parts. Most of the restaurants are quite old. We only ate at our hotel OK Divers Resort, where the restaurant and food was very good. NIce place to visit but only a couple of days at most.

    I have been travelling around Bali for some time and I have come to a conclusion. Bali is about Earth Energy and there are 4 elements in which it excels. Central Bali, Ubud and heading North for Jungle Energy....intense and slightly chaotic. The Peninsula for expansive Ocean Energy, connecting you to something bigger, and Rock Energy...grounding, stabilising. Then you have Candidasa. Candidasa is the Energy of the Hills, the Green Healing Hills. Take your bike off the main road and you will be driving closer and closer to the foot, then keep driving, up and up, for absolutely breath taking views of dense greenery with traditional structures scattered in the distance. Breathtaking.

    A perfect place to dive and learn diving Tulamben is a peaceful little town and an amazing spot for both scuba diving and freediving. The water is calm, visibility is great, and marine life is rich, from colourful coral to bumphead parrotfish. The famous USAT Liberty wreck is a must-see, accessible right from shore. It’s also a great place to learn diving – many friendly, professional instructors and dive centres around. Whether you're a beginner or ean xperienced diver, you'll love it here. Highly recommended for ocean lovers!

    An off beat location, which is actually peaceful and great...

    An off beat location, which is actually peaceful and great for nature lovers, adventure seekers and history lovers. It is close to the mother temple of Bali (15 minutes), Blue lagoon diving and Snorkeling, p Pura Tirta and the most amazing rafting site. So a 3-night stay at this place is ideal to cover east Bali and then you can go to Ubud.

    It's a surfers paradise but not for us old couples.

    It's a surfers paradise but not for us old couples. The place will be very nice if the owner take time to make it clean like clean sheets, new mattress with on bed bugs. The bathroom and toilets spruced up. Nothing much to see there except to surf and relax.

    Seraya is definitely a place to recommend. If you are looking for authenticity, pristine beaches (Virgin beach), local culture (Lempuyang Temple, Tirta Gangga Water Palace & Local Coffee Farm, etc.), you will definitely love the place!

    We stayed just one night to visit the Gates of Heaven.

    We stayed just one night to visit the Gates of Heaven. I feel is enough to see the surroundings and have a feel of the place. We found the tickets a bit expensive. I mean is a nice place but not to pay 10$. You can see Tirtagangga in 20 minutes, depending on whether you are an instagramer and you take selfies in every corner, then you can stay there for over an hour, although is very difficult to take good selfies as there are people everywhere. Around the entrance, there are a few restaurants and shops. But please I would say to the owners or whoever takes care of this place, tell people not to feed the fish. They are huge! and it's because the shops nearby sell food so you can take a picture with the fish.

    Amed was lovely, found some great eating places that were really reasonable. Gusto, Galangal, Warranga Amed with live music and fabulous hosts, Sunset view restaurant )the lower key more traditional one) the other Sunset view was too upmarket and commercialised. We loved riding around on the scooters and felt it was quiet enough to feel safe. Really enjoyed getting up into the hills from there to see the rural lifestyles.
