- From US$26.52 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.0Good - What previous guests thought, 66 reviewsThe hotel is in a good location. Not far away from everything. The pool was nice, as well the breakfast (warm indonesian food and also stuff like egg and toast, fresh fruit). The rooms where clean. My door didn't lock at first, but they fixed it immediately. Nothing to complain about it.Guest review byJulianeGermany

The streets are busy, footpaths unsafe, open drains are unhealthy and smelly. We were there for business + 3 days of rest. Hotel was amazing, staff fantastic and helpful just the streets let us down. It is certainly not a tourist spot. Nowhere to shop. the 99 dome Mosque was the most beautiful structure to be seen and of course the magnificent new Hospital the Kemekes Hospital with it's new 4 towers and ultimate spacical features.Guest review byDebAustralia - 10.0

This was a 3 day total experience of a traditional culture that is threatened by western influences and fast disappearing. We were included in ceremonies with hundreds of participants doing centuries old rituals.Guest review byAnonymousUS Virgin Islands - 8.0
Bustling city!
Bustling city! We found it easy to get around by tuk-tuk (motorized rickshaw - ask your hotel for recommended prices and negotiate with the driver before you get started) or just walking. There is a variety of food options - and the seafood choices were wonderful - fresh and cooked to order. Our favorite restaurant Lae Lae was right across the street from our hotel. We enjoyed wandering around the city for a couple of days, usually retiring to our hotel during the heat of the afternoons, and then venturing out again as the sun was heading down. There are modern malls and local pasars (marketplaces) to explore as well as coffee shops or multitudes of local small or large restaurants to choose from. Indonesian food can be quite spicy, which my husband enjoys, but there are always low-spice options. We also rented a car and driver to go out of town to Ramang-Ramang - a village about an hour and a half out of Makassar. We took a boat ride through the mangrove forests and enjoyed the peaceful Karst rock formations that are special for that area. We then continued on to a local park - the Karst formations looked like sculptures, and climbed up a long walkway to see ancient cliff paintings. I couldn't actually make the final clamber up into the cave, but my husband did and could see the ancient form of a hand on a rock. Overall lovely outing into the countryside. We enjoyed our time in Makassar and highly recommend it as a friendly place to discover that there is more to Indonesia than Bali!Guest review byRuthUnited States - 10.0

Makassar is a boring city with no real attractions or places to visit, It was Ramadam whilst I was there and all the bars are closed, even the hotel put beer in a tea pot to hide it, which is ridiculous for an international hotel, Makassar is a boring city, even shopping is not that great with just a few Malls which are all pretty much the same.. Did not enjoy my stay at all and will not be comming back again I hope.Guest review byAlanIndonesia
