- From $257.22 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Excellent - What previous guests thought, 486 reviewsI had a fantastic stay at the County Arms Hotel in Birr this April. The room was absolutely fabulous — spacious, spotless, and beautifully maintained. The beds were large and incredibly comfortable, making for a great night’s sleep. I really appreciated the attention to detail, from the lovely in-room coffee to the excellent breakfast that was delivered straight to the room — a real treat to start the day. Everything about the stay felt comfortable and relaxing. I’d definitely recommend the County Arms Hotel to anyone visiting the area, and I’d happily stay again.Guest review byRuthIreland
- From $175.38 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 819 reviewsI stayed at Sea Dew B&B in Tullamore during the Trad Festival in April 2025, and I was genuinely impressed. It was spotless from top to bottom. The location was ideal, just a short walk into town, which made getting to and from the festival so convenient. Breakfast was both delicious and great value. Overall, a really welcoming and well-run B&B. I’d absolutely recommend Sea Dew to anyone visiting Tullamore and will definitely be back myself!Guest review byRuthIreland

Birr might be a small town but it (like many small Irish towns) is full of history with plenty of places to eat and shop and a wonderful castle and grounds right in town. Everyone we met was so friendly and nice; we were even invited to stay with a local at their home if we wanted to return to the town in the future (in a serious way, not a casual "I'm-just-being-polite" kind of way). Because of it's central location, it's a good launch point for day-trips to other parts of Ireland as well with lots of natural and historical points of interest within a 30 min drive. My family had a wonderful time staying here.Guest review byDavid HarrisUnited States - 10.0

I was blown away by how gorgeous and stunning it was. So clean, well maintained and I felt like I went back in time. I wanted an authentic castle with green lush grass and this was it. The property is beautiful and we walked through the fairy forest.Guest review byNancyUnited States - 10.0

We specifically went to Banagher as we were going to Jj Houghs Singing Pub. We had an amazing time. There are good options for food - restaurant/bar and other takeaways. The town was clean. We didn’t explore much other than Houghs and the Marina but we had a great time and will definitely be back.Guest review byRebeccaIreland - 10.0

The Sea Dew B&B was wonderful, as was dinner at the Italian restaurant, Mezzo. The Tullamore Dew Distillery Tour was amazing and a do not miss stop. Even if you’re not crazy about whiskey, the tour is educational and what beautiful setting!Guest review bySueUnited States - 10.0

We had a lovely stay at Keerun Hill.
We had a lovely stay at Keerun Hill. Geraldine was so welcoming.. an exceptional host. The rooms were lovely, great choice of breakfast and comfy beds. Great base for exploring. We visited Meelick weir walkway, Birr Castle and Clonmacnoise but there is lots more to do, we only had the weekend to explore. Flynns in Banagher was great for food with very good service on a Friday. Definitely recommend a visit.Guest review byBrianIreland - 4.0
Much effort by the shop keepers and owners of Tullamore.
Much effort by the shop keepers and owners of Tullamore. Flowers hanging outside of the premises etc. The town is let down very badly by the town council as the footpaths are a disgrace. They have not been cleaned in a very long time, if ever. The paths were black marked, sticky and disgusting. These premises are paying rates and being let down badly.Guest review byTomIreland
