We stayed because our ferry arrived late- we’d been in France, Belgium, Netherlands and Germany for 3 weeks. This hotel was the best value, and best breakfast of the trip and was really comfortable- great linens, large bed and a good mattress. The staff was great too. Wexford town and county has so much to offer.
Wexford town and county has so much to offer. Please research places to visit while visiting Wexford. The town was a pleasure to walk through with an ary of shops and cafes. Must of the tourist sights are within a reasonable travelling distance of Wexford town. I would suggest before booking a hotel read reviews. Enjoy your trip to Wexford and all it offers. Once a ferryport devoid of any real amenities apart from a hotel, Rosslare now boasts several bewer hotels, a fantadtic fish and chip shop, a restaurant-bar, a Pizza cafe, a supermarket and a post office. Quaint and picturesque town on the pleasant river Slaney steeped in Irish History. Enniscorthy was the scene of the 1798 rebellion where the united Irishmen took their last stand on the summit of Vinegar hill overlooking the town. The Castle and the 1798 visitors centre are worth a visit if you are interested in history as is the Father Murphy centre at Boolavogue. Disappointing town, visited early evening. Not much of a choice of restaurants, bars and cafe. Parking not easy. We decide not to return the following day to visit Immigration/famine ship. The rest of Ireland: a fab country with beautiful countryside, towns and villages and so well kept and maintained. The cleanliness is superb. The only downside is we dont have a private toilet/ shower room. Maybe if you travel with group this is okay because you dont mind sharing with your group. Great, friendly, staff. Great Cráic at the bar. N8ce music at bar. Lovely atmosphere throughout facility. One blip was, a wet towel left by previous guests was still hanging on hook behind bathroom door. Cleaning staff need to check the hooks behind doors when cleaning bathroom area. Duncannon is a beautiful village on the South Coast with a beautiful sandy beach. It is ideally located to explore the area with both Waterford and Wexford only a short drive away. It's quite central and a good location to get to other parts of Wexford and Waterford. Pretty location by the sea with good accommodation such as the Marsh Mere Lodge and the Kings Head pub providing a good evening meal. An interesting, welcoming town. Some fantastic beaches nearby. The Irish Heritage Museum is close to the Whitford House Hotel and well worth a visit - lots to see, allow plenty of time. Johnston Castle and Tintern Abbey are among the many fascinating places to visit.Guest review bySusan
