- From $314.02 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Excellent - What previous guests thought, 971 reviewsRight from we arrived we had a great experience. Liam met us at the gates as the Women's Irish Open was on- he was jovial & chatty. Konstantina at reception was lovely, quickly checking all details & explaining a few things. Our room was lovely with a huge tv & a bath & shower in a good sized bathroom. We had our evening meal in Kathleen's Kitchen- a unique location...the old kitchen was great. The staff were lovely & helpful...the food, all 3 courses divine! We received a complimentary champers for our anniversary. Breakfast was also excellent back in Kathleen's Kitchen. We used the pool, jacuzzi & steam room in the spa. Despite the golf competition the atmosphere was relaxed & in fact we used our complimentary tickets to watch a bit & we went on the red & yellow walks around the grounds.Guest review byRobertUnited Kingdom

First visit to Dublin, for a sporting weekend, 2 nights.
First visit to Dublin, for a sporting weekend, 2 nights. I would have liked to have stayed 1 more night to see sights but that would be sufficient as its a tourist city...unless i was planning to use it as a base to go visit the rest of Ireland. Honestly...the craic is all a bit over-hyped. If its a hen night or stag do youll probably enjoy it. But there aren't too many sights, and apart from the authentic Guinness and the occasional irish music venue, the bars & clubs are not really anything you can't get in the rest of the UK. Its ridiculously expensive and 'highly variable' accommodation, and the food/drink is also very pricey (think Switzerland!). We were an older group and had a v good expensive meal at the Trocadero restaurant (think £50+ for one main course and couple glasses wine each), and had fun at the Maison en Seine bar/club. But the friendliness only goes so far and wasn't always evident. E.g. came across a very surly unhelpful barman at Darkey Kelly's pub, and many attractions-based staff frankly gave the impression of being bored and touristed out!Guest review byMarcusUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Kilkenny is a lovely small city right on a river.
Kilkenny is a lovely small city right on a river. We recommend taking advantage of a good walking tour. We did, and it was a perfect way to spend two hours on a sunny morning. Our guide was superb, filling us in on the history of the city with interesting and humorous stories. The castle is an excellent representation of “castles” in general, and we recommend taking the time to tour the castle. There is a very nice cafeteria/restaurant in the old Royal Stable right across from the front entrance to the castle; the food was good and the setting is wonderful.Guest review byDuane SarazinUnited States - 10.0

Swords is a bustling town with a reasonable range of shops...
Swords is a bustling town with a reasonable range of shops and heaps of Cafes. Nearby Pavillions shopping complex is a very large mall with everything you need. Swoprds Castle in town is worth a visit but parking is a major problem in the township unless you carry cash. It would be so much easier if cards were accepted. Streets are narrow and can get congested.Guest review byPat TaylorNew Zealand - 8.0
If you are looking for cutting-edge city life, this is not...
If you are looking for cutting-edge city life, this is not for you. Dundalk is a former railway town, largely built round the (now defunct) works for the GNRI and with much 19th century red-brick architecture. It has a busy high street with a lot of small shops, pubs and restaurants, none are grand, it reminds me of similar towns in the UK before planning blight took hold. A lot of effort seems to have gone into smartening the place up in recent years, which is nice. Would that other towns of its scale have survived so well it would be nothing exceptional, but as so few have, it has a real charm. As a base, it is well sited to explore the countryside around, which has a long and interesting history, with a lot of historic sites.Guest review byNicholasUnited Kingdom - 8.0

We went for a night away to catch up with a friend, had a delicious meal and drinks and danced till closing time. Felt so safe and the whole town had great vibes. We got up early the next morning for a sauna down by the marina. Could not recommend this any more....just melted all my hangover and troubles away. Lovely people and coffee too.Guest review bySharonIreland
