We stayed three nights at Hills and Hues in the room "The Cavern". The welcome was so warm, we immediately fell in love with this beautiful hotel. The location is unique, the view from the terrace is a dream. The complex is very well maintained and the room is spacious and tastefully decorated, the beds very comfortable. Both breakfast (included) and dinner, which we ordered á la carte, were extraordinarily delicious. The team organized a tour of the nearby Periyar Tiger Reserve for us and even when we needed a tuk tuk, they helped us immediately. I had a treatment in the spa, the forehead oil treatment with head massage. I thought it was great and was deeply relaxed (75 minutes for around €40). We would return to Hills and Hues at any time, the stay definitely enriched our vacation in Kerala.

We loved the entire property which is surrounded by greenery all around. Saw the Lychee and Rambutan trees here for the first time! The heritage decor gives a unique feeling of warmth and richness to the resort. We spotted a few birds here, namely the racket tailed Drongo, woodpecker and some others. The food was delicious and homely, thanks to Chef Ancy. Loved their Idly, sambar and chicken cutlet ! The staff was extremely helpful and ensured we have a pleasant and enjoyable stay there. Special thanks to Sachin who helped us with arranging all our day tours around Thekkady. We would definitely recommend this place to everyone looking for a comfortable and memorable stay in the midst of nature.

This place is wonderful! Our family (I was with my child and a friend) had a perfect vacation here. Every detail was designed for our comfort, and the rooms were clean and well-equipped. The environment is incredibly clean, family-friendly, which allowed us to relax a bit as well. The food exceeded our expectations by far! Every meal was a culinary delight, with fresh and diverse dishes. The staff were exceptionally kind and helpful, always available when we needed them. The location of the accommodation is perfect. The management and the whole staff of the hotel are wonderful; they take care of each and every detail, ensuring a flawless experience. Overall, I wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone. We can’t wait to come back!

    We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The location is great, surrounded by lush greenery that creates a peaceful, rainforest-like atmosphere—especially from the balcony. Our room was perfect, spotless, and very comfortable. The food was excellent, and the staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. The only minor downside is the proximity to the road; while we didn’t hear any noise from our room, lower levels might. Overall, a fantastic and relaxing experience!

    Any side you turn, the views are stunning.

    Any side you turn, the views are stunning. You should visit during a perfect weather with some rain and fog. It doesn't cool very much during sunny days. Roads are very nice to drive a car. Restaurants are decent with good local food. You can find good tea shops in many places. Very nice non crowded place to chill out.

    PERIYAR TIGER RESERVE TREKKING IS VERY MUCH DIFFICULTY. MUDDED NARROW PATHS FILLED WITH BITING INSECTS MADE THE TREKKING MISERABLE. THEY RECOVERED ONE PERSONS ENTRANCE FEES ILLEGALLY TO MAKE IT TO A MINIMUM NUMBER. NO ANIMALS OR BIRDS SEEN INSTEAD ONLY BLOOD SUCKING ANTS.

    Avadale Idukki is positioned in a very quiet place with a grand view of the Idukki Dam. Rain played spoil sport during our visit to Idukki due to which we were confined to our room. The property has indoor playing facilities with a good TT table, chess and all. Good team they have, who are responsive to our requirements. Food is good and is reasonably priced. With family, will visit again (not when it rains)

    A bit removed from the hustle of the Vagamon town.

    A bit removed from the hustle of the Vagamon town. Is great if you want less busy roads and quieter environment. Can visit Panchalimedu hill station, Green Meadows, Pine Forest, Murugan Mala, Pattumala and many waterfalls nearby. There are opportunities for beautiful waterfall treks as well. Don't miss out on the top hill views of the western ghats. Thekkady is also only a short drive away.

    Firstly the staff told me that I have booked non ac room.secondly for that room I have charged 984 rupees though the rate as per booking is 844.Thirdly I paid 1000 rupees in cash and when dissatisfied with what they provided we want to left earlier and asked about balance the staff told me that you have allotted a room of 1000 repees. And finally the staff told me everything is in room.but no soap,no towel,no bed sheet otherthan the old one in the bed.No water also

    Only the view is good. Rest all are horrible. Toilet was not clean. AC was not working when it was too hot. Room is totally covered with no windows. Charging heavily for such a crap facility. I stayed in their traditional cottage. They have painted it every where and the antique feel is totally lost.

    Adventure park , glass bridge and garden all are good to spend a day here. It would be better if u visit during dec-Jan period when you can experience some cool climate. Please avoid this places during christmas and onam holidays , as is tend to be crowded and u wouldnt be able to enjoy. Days will be hot, you can experience cold during nite and mornings. Most of the places close by 5:30 , except for the garden, which is well lit and have lot of foto spots

    Its awesome place to break from the routine.

    Its awesome place to break from the routine. Overall prices are at the upper side as being tourist place. Food was bit challenging as by 8 am no restaurants were open and they serve for very limited time so plan it accordingly.

    Excellent place of 3 Dams which together holds the water of...

    Excellent place of 3 Dams which together holds the water of Idukki reservoir. Two of the dams are just like walls and one of them have gates to control the water levels. The water is being utilized in hydro-electricity generation in the power plants. Unfortunately you can not take any photo of the dams but from hill view park one can see 2 of the dams together.
