- From US$246.21 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 3,211 reviews-Nice room- small but functional, cozy and clean, with cute design solutions, such as the bed being located in a niche; complimentary coffee capsules in the room; no complimentary water due to the fact that the local tap water is among the cleanest in the world and everybody drinks it -The hotel is located directly at the old harbor in close proximity to the city center (4-5 minutes). My room had a view directly to a ship on dry dock ; I guess it's a matter of taste, but in my case it added to the authenticity and I liked it very much. The harbor also offers a lot of restaurants with traditional food (such as the famous lobster soup) and half-day activities such as whale-watching. -Friendly and helpful staff -The hotel is equipped with a good cocktail bar and a charming library to relax -Bear in mind that Iceland is a very expensive country; the hotel is anything but cheap- with all the discounts I paid 210 EUR per night, however compared to the other hotels around the center of this class actually it was the most competitive, so in order to be fair I've decided to state the price as a positive factor, given the overall prices in ReykjavikGuest review byDanielBelgium
- From US$199.65 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.8Good - What previous guests thought, 2,802 reviewsThe Viking Hotel is one of the best places to stay near Reykjavik if you want a decent price and an amazing hotel stay. The whole atmosphere of the hotel is made in the style of the Viking era, very original and wonderful, felt like being back in time! The check-in was effortless and the staff at the reception were just amazing, super helpful, and always ready to answer any questions we would have. We enjoyed our breakfast, which was super tasty and with a great deal of variety of foods, both international and local. The hotel also had a hot tub and sauna, which I had the chance to use once during our weekend there. Also, there is free parking next door, super practical and needed when traveling with a car! The town was amazing too, and the proximity to Reykjavik was equally amazing! All in all, it was a great stay and we recommend this hotel to anyone exploring the area around Reykjavik and the Golden Circle!Guest review bySrgjanBelgium
- From US$326.69 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 2,353 reviewsThis hotel has it all! The staff were incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to answer any questions about what to do and where to go. Need a taxi? They’ll have one ready for you in about a minute—so convenient! The restaurant was fantastic, offering delicious food. We had breakfast there daily, and it was the perfect way to start each day. Their coffee was excellent too—I loved it! This is also an ideal spot if you’re doing tours. Bus Stop 13 is right in front of the hotel, making it super convenient for tour bus pickups. On cold days, you can comfortably wait in the cozy lobby until your ride arrives—a small detail that makes a big difference. Our room was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area!Guest review byEdGermany
- From US$321.31 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very good - What previous guests thought, 1,688 reviewsGreat location could easily walk everywhere. Hotel rooms lovely, very clean and bed/pillows extremely comfortable. Staff so friendly and helpful especially receptionist Monica and 2 other ladies who went above and beyond to assist when i missed my pickup for tour (didnt realise i had to get on pickup bus to main bus terminal to join tour and was waiting for tour bus to arrive at stop). Within minutes they had every thing sorted and trip rescheduled. Great continental breakfast. Fill water bottles for you each morning. If you have to leave for tour or airport before breakfast starts they have coffee and croissants available in the lounge.Guest review byMichelleIreland
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 513 reviewsAbsolutely magical stay at the Reykjavik Domes. every little detail was so well thought out and it was a magical experience to have. We visited on our honeymoon and managed to have an hour of very strong Northern lights activity while we were sitting in the hot tub. we visited in winter and with the fire place going we were toastie. Ignore the bad reviews, this was one of the highlights of our trip!Guest review byAlexAustralia
- From US$344.80 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 956 reviewsThe hotel is right in the centre of Reykjavik, near to the harbour and main shopping streets. Most of the museums are within a 5-15 minute radius (one is even underneath the hotel). You can also walk to the main bus station in 20 minutes, or get picked up for tours from the bus stop that is 100m away. The staff were very friendly and the hotel is very clean and comfortable. We highly recommend it!Guest review byLiz2712Luxembourg

Reykjavik is quite easy to walk around in the downtown core.
Reykjavik is quite easy to walk around in the downtown core. Pretty buildings, great shopping, lots of restaurant choices, etc. We loved going to the pools and it was a good place to start our tour of Iceland. Prepare for expensive restaurant meals, but everywhere we ate was delicious. We enjoyed the whale museum, lava centre, museum of Iceland, and the Perlan (the only northern lights we got to see on our trip!).Guest review byKerraCanada - 8.0

Hafnarfjorthur was between Keflavic and Reykjavik making it quite handy and more affordable to stay at. We rented a car to tour the Golden Circle, enjoy the Blue Lagoon, and sightsee in Reykjavik and felt that was a good choice. We didn't sightsee in Hafnarfjorthur.Guest review byLynetteUnited States - 8.0

ive already answered these questions twice. we paid for a superior room and got one. Neighborhood is out of the way but has great views and animals and is near the road to Costco. we spent 2 weeks driving the entire island and enjoyed it. This is one of ,,those,, accommodations where you want to spend the night after a week full of traveling. It is clear that the owner has a sense of detail and quality. You can feel the quality on the materials and furnishings, the equipment of the entire apartment and the services that are here. Everything is still new, clean. Situated in a quiet location. We slept very well! Parking in front of the entrance, Accessibility anywhere is perfect. Since it is new here, the accommodation does not have any review and even though I usually do not write reviews, I think this one deserves one. For the price, it is exclusive accommodation and we will definitely come back here.Guest review byDaniel K.Slovakia - 10.0

My son and I traveled to Iceland for a 5 night vacation, staying in Reykjavik for a total of 3 nights. What a wonderful, safe, friendly city! We stayed downtown in 2 different areas, both walkable to the many museums, restaurants, and shopping districts. Reykjavik is colorful, with buildings and street art abundant. Reykjavik is also expensive, as is all of Iceland, so prepare to spend almost double for food, drink, and gifts as you would in the U.S. That being said, I loved it, and will be back!Guest review bywendyUnited States - 10.0

Hlid Fisherman's Village had lots of "viking" character with some very interesting maritime realia, close proximity to Icelandic horses, heritage chickens, a koi pond, cedar sauna and two rooftop hot tubs. The room was very clean, bed was comfortable and the view was to the sea.Guest review byMarciaUnited States
