- From US$137.36 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.3Very good - What previous guests thought, 800 reviewsAn absolutely unique place. I loved staying in the village, and I was amazed at how sustainable it was. My friends and I stayed in Brekkukot Guesthouse and were lucky enough to be the only people there. The bedroom was quite small, but the beds were superb - best sleep ever! There is a loggia and a living room for the use of the guests. The loggia is an amazing spot to observe northern lights if one is lucky enough to see them. I suppose if the guesthouse was full the level of comfort would have been quite different, but this property was also the cleanest one I have ever visited. I also highly recommend visiting the cafe in the village to try their delicious coffee, cakes, and breakfast options. The very same cafe also offers a shop with basic groceries, and lovely selection of hand crafted souvenirs. The location is very quiet, and the views are beautiful. Very friendly staff too. It's amazing that such a unique place can be visited for such an affordable price.Guest review byIzabelaPoland
- From US$209.90 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 820 reviewsBreakfast has vegetables! Unlike cold salad, the vegetables that includes mushrooms, pepper and zucchini serve as a hot dish makes the breakfast more healthy and yummy. The staff in reception is attentive, informative, professional in handling situations, smiling, friendly and yet efficient. Secret lagoon is in walking distance. The hotel is quite central for visiting most main spots. It's nicely decorated. The room is spacious. The bathroom is warm and well-equipped. One of the tea flavour in the room is ginger! It's rare in most hotels but this really makes me feel special. In such a cold weather I can make a hot ginger tea after a long drive in such snowy weather. I also heard that there was northern light last night!Guest review byjennySwitzerland
- From US$297.03 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.4Superb - What previous guests thought, 710 reviewsThe experience was very unique. For a few days we got to live in a cabin (with all conveniences of a modern world like a dishwasher, coffea maker, Wi-Fi and even Netflix) located in the middle of icelandic wilderness. It was a perfect combination. Breathtaking views, crystal clean air, quietness and privacy. The cabin location offers a perfect, unobstructed view in every direction. We were lucky enough to experience Northern Lights 3 nights in the row. A perfect base for a golden circle touring. Just make sure every day to leave the cabin a little earlier than planned - you just have to have time to play with the dogs :)Guest review byJoannaPoland
- From US$254.96 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 1,983 reviewsWe loved everything about this place. The room was huge, clean, quite, warm and comfortable, with a view on a field with mountains. The staff was very friendly, the breakfast was exceptional, During northern light they switched off the lights, so there was no light polution, Additional bonus from the hotel was that they had a horse stables and the one was able to go there, pet them take a photos, and it was absolutely relaxing, Loved itGuest review byDavitiPoland

The rooms are a little walk away from the check in area and restaurant but staff was incredibly helpful and everything was easy to find. Best ice cream we’ve tasted in a long while ! town was a quaint seaside escape, good pizza place in town, watch out for the seafood restaurant serving horse meat on menu 🥩 😢so disturbing (its next to pizza place, so we were happy w/ pizza instead)!!Guest review byRuhinaUnited States - 10.0
Great place in south of Iceland.
Great place in south of Iceland. The town of "flowers" is a good name for this place, as it is the warmest place in Iceland, where they grow flowers and enjoy life. It has the best swimming pool of the whole country, with an amazing "steam room" that is heated with steam straight from the vulcanic core of our planet.Guest review byJonastRussia - 10.0

Centre of Fludir has grocery store, a gas station and 2 hotels - all four located very closely across the street. So we could get full tank of gadoline to drive further and wr had really good breakfast in hotel, but for the evening got some food in the shop. We didn't spend much time there and sayed only for one night driving through from one destination point to anothes as we dind't find any interesting object to visit in this town.Guest review byLauraLatvia - 8.0

I only stayed for one night and I didn't get to use the kitchen but I could have stayed longer. Lovely kitchen and shared space with a fabulous view across the fields and to the Geyser so close. A lot of care and thought has been put into the guesthouses layout and decor. Quirky and beautiful.Guest review byRuthAustralia - 10.0
We loved everything!
We loved everything! The glass bubble and the hot tub outside are fantastic additions to this lovely cottage. Our host was very helpful and patience, response quick. We had the most amazing and memorable 3 nights here!Guest review byAdriennUnited Kingdom - 10.0
What I liked most was the location and the cottage itself.
What I liked most was the location and the cottage itself. It was in fantastic conditions and modern styled which made it feel very luxury. We ate at the restaurant which has the same owner as the cottages, and though it was a great selection of food - it was not the best for me who's gluten intolerant. However, they were super helpful and made sure I got something as well.Guest review bySagaIceland - 10.0

We had an incredible 7 night stay at Elín & Börkurs property! The view of the river is extremely beautiful, so relaxing and the perfect setting to enjoy the hot tub and some Aurora spotting. We travelled as two families, a group of nine in total, and the property was perfect for us. The two shower rooms (one en-suite) and four bedrooms worked well. The hot tub is always ready to go so really handy not to have to wait for 30 minutes - 1 hour for it to heat up. Washing machine and dryer available to use, just need to bring some washing tabs / liquid. Plenty of toilet roll, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash available to use, as well as kitchen towel and cleaning products to keep things tidy during our stay. Plenty of spare towels and bed linen available which was appreciated whilst travelling with children. A travel cot and high chair were made available for us to use on request. It was a fantastic base to explore the golden circle, the secret lagoon and all that South Iceland has to offer - we even managed a day trip to Jokulsarlon ice lagoon and the diamond beach (four hours away), with a couple of stops along the way. The local pool in Selfoss, recommended by Elín, was a hit with the children, especially the slides, diving boards, and indoor pool. The adults loved it too - we would recommend it! And finally the pre-arrival information was really helpful. Elín & Börkur were very patient and on hand to help with anything we needed during our stay. We will definitely be back, thank you!Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

We did two day-trips in the full days we had staying here, one to the North and northwest, the other to the northeast. We also saw things on the way from the KEF Airport, and on our way to the next destination on the Ring Road.Guest review bymarybethUnited States - 10.0

The small town is founded around the hot springs - there was a geothermal park in the centre where you can boil an egg in the hot spring and eat delicious rye bread cooked in geothermal steam. We also hiked up to the geothermal river to bathe in the warm water surrounded by snow!Guest review byAnonymous
