- From US$217.83 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very good - What previous guests thought, 1,198 reviewsWe really enjoyed our stay there. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. We arrived later than expected because our toddler has car sickness sometimes. Not only they waited for us until later than 10pm, but they even offered us to wash the dirty (vomited) clothes. They also heated up the room in advance to make sure it was comfortable upon arrival. The room was big and spacious, clean, and the views from the room make it perfect to see the Northern Ligths on a clear night (unfortunately, we were not lucky with the weather).Guest review byJudithSwitzerland
- From US$278.71 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very good - What previous guests thought, 547 reviewsThese units were interesting to stay in -- very comfy and BIG windows! We were glad they had curtains as the sunlight was intense. The area around the hotel was awesome for going on short and scenic walks. There is a restaurant on the property and that was a nice place for dinner. I don't think there were many other options. We also had breakfast there too.Guest review byJanetUnited States
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 1,046 reviewsThe shower did not have a normal drain but rather had a space between the tiles for the water. We didn’t realize this immediately and water was EVERYWHERE. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and the fresh bread is out of this world. Abundance of parking spaces (free) and we saw the aurora from this location.Guest review bykimberlyMalta

- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.2Very good - What previous guests thought, 1,249 reviewsThe northern lights rippled across the sky the first and only night of our stay. That moment will live with me forever. As for the rest of the stay, the dinner and breakfast were delicious and filling, we loved the brown bread and jam the most.Guest review byConorChile

The parking by the fall is expensive at no reason.
The parking by the fall is expensive at no reason. It offers no services, like toilets. If the weather is ok and you like walking, there is a free spot closer to the city, 1mile or 1500m, with a trail to the fall. The fall and the mountain together in a pic are the postcard you imagined.Guest review byPietroItaly - 10.0

The hike to the island is very nice, we did it at 11pm after our dinner. You have to visit the church. We loved this village and his traditional houses. We eat very well at Sjávarpakkhúsið restaurant.Guest review byEtienneSwitzerland - 10.0

Olafsvik was a beautiful little town with everything within walking distance from our accommodation. The harbour wa pretty and a nice beach, we went on the whale watching trip and saw Orcas which was amazing !!! The roads in and out of town were quite snowy so u need a 4x4 in the wintertimeGuest review byWendy craftUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Hellnar is the perfect location, close to all the major attractions on the peninsula and an ideal place to spend the night while soaking in the beauty of the landscape. There’s a charming little café just a few minutes from the Peninsula Suites that serves the best waffles with jam and whipped cream, an Icelandic classic. The views are truly out of this world, we’ve never seen anything like it. Cliffs, ocean, glacier, and moss all come together in the most breathtaking way. It’s an absolute must on your trip!Guest review byDorota KotniewiczPoland - 10.0

The real "secret" (not so secret) highlight of this area is not the church itself but the walks you can do after it towards the dunes and the beach. Just walk a few minutes then turn and look back. you will see the church against a majestic backdrop of mountains, skies and sea.Guest review byMicadu DrumetNetherlands - 10.0
Beautiful, remote yet friendly place.
Beautiful, remote yet friendly place. Remarkably helpful tourist centre and well maintained roads and buildings despite remoteness. You need a car to fully experience the place. Come with your food for the stay as no shops in town. Hellesandur and surrounding villages are beautiful. Recommend visiting the spa in olafsvikGuest review byLuke BainesUnited Kingdom - 10.0

I had an absolutely amazing stay at Hotel Langaholt — everything about it exceeded my expectations. From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly warm, friendly, and down to earth. They made me feel so welcome and even offered me a complimentary upgrade to a newer, more comfortable room. The room itself was spacious, spotlessly clean, and had the most breathtaking view of both the glaciers and the beach. The hotel has a lovely, charming atmosphere and is wonderfully peaceful, making it the perfect place to relax. Dinner was a real highlight — the seafood was freshly caught in the area and tasted incredible. Breakfast was just as impressive, with a great selection to start the day right. One of my favorite moments was being able to take a short walk down to the beach after dinner. It was the perfect way to unwind — surrounded by nature, with the sound of the waves and the open Icelandic landscape all around. What really stood out to me, though, was the kindness and flexibility of the staff. They even allowed me a late checkout so I didn’t have to rush in the morning. Every little detail was handled with such care, and the genuine hospitality made all the difference. I can’t recommend Hotel Langaholt enough. It’s a special place that captures the beauty and warmth of Iceland in every way. I will absolutely be back and I cannot recommend this hotel enough!Guest review bySamanthaUnited States - 10.0

I’ve stayed here before and always thought the location was magical—the nearby church feels otherworldly! The bar is cozy and a perfect spot for a coffee or a drink, and the restaurant serves a truly delicious dinner. When I stayed a few years ago, I felt the rooms were just okay for the price. But this time, I tried one of the newly renovated rooms, and it was beyond my expectations. The design, comfort, and overall feel completely changed my experience—I went from liking this hotel to absolutely loving it. I highly recommend booking one of the renovated rooms. They’re 100% worth it!Guest review bySam - 10.0

Grundarfjordur is a convenient town for exploring the Snaefellsnes Peninsula. It has a good grocery store and two excellent cafes for coffee & treats. A little food truck is open until the end of August. We stayed here 4 nights so we would have time to explore and I'm glad we did because one day was too stormy to see sights and another day wasn't optimal.Guest review byAnonymousUnited States - 8.0
Slightly quirky, remote town, with an interesting harbour.
Slightly quirky, remote town, with an interesting harbour. A few good places to eat/drink, and plenty to see and do around the surrounding peninsula - national park, hiking volcanoes, whale-watching, and even trying fermented shark. Pretty, colourful houses in town make it a relaxing place to stay too.Guest review byMartin LodemoreUnited Kingdom
