This was really nice property. Professionalism at it’s peak. Really liked the staff and the reception. I would recommend this hotel to everyone visiting salerno for their visit because salerno train station is like a minute walk. Both ports for ferry to amalfi, positsno and capri are like 5 min and 20 min walk. Buses for Amalfi and other places was infront of hotel. Despite this closeness to crowded places you will not feel an inch of disturbance in your room. Also, you can find lot of eateries near this hotel. They also helped us to keep our luggage for long 7-8 hours so that we can finsih our short trip to Amalfi.

This hotel was literally in Sorrento City Centre! The train station was just a 7 min walk if you want to visit Pompeii. We also had a great bakery and supermarket just next door. Breakfast was also good with loads of sweet options and mini pancakes. The room was spotless and comfortable. Highly recommend it.

We had a very comfortable room with a queen size and a twin bed. The rain shower had great pressure and lots of hot water. Air conditioning was excellent as well as WiFi and tv. The staff was very helpful and happily answered any questions we had about how to get around in Pompeii and good restaurants. There was a lovely little garden where we winded down our days with a cocktail prepared in the bar. Breakfast was more than adequate and the bonus was that it was 2 blocks from the train station station and a 15 minute walk from the entrance to the archeological site of Pompeii

FAQs about hotels in Campania

Stunning Scenery and Remarkable Ruins

Wonderful beach resorts, a wealth of history and winding, cliff-hugging roads – these are just a few reasons why Campania is so admired.

Spreading around a bay, the capital Naples is a mix of monumental architecture and narrow streets. Known for pizza and pulsating life night and day, it extends along the coast towards Pozzuoli, site of a Roman amphitheatre and the Phlegrean Fields volcanic area.

The most notorious volcano is of course Vesuvius, whose eruption in 79AD destroyed Pompei and Herculaneum. The ruins of both are an amazing insight into the sophistication of the Romans. Even older are the well-preserved Greek temples at Paestum.

Agropoli sits on a rocky promontory overlooking a beach and harbour, and beautiful Palinuro is at the tip of the Cilento National Park. Other fantastic Campania resorts are on the amazing Amalfi Coast. Ravello, high on a hill, offers stunning coastal views, while Amalfi and Positano cascade down to the sea. Around the peninsula is Sorrento, home to several 5-star Campania hotels, while offshore are the fabulous islands of Capri and Ischia.

Inland Caserta has an impressive Royal Palace with huge gardens, and Avellino nestles in a valley between the port of Salerno and Benevento, site of yet more Roman remains. See Booking.com for an excellent range of apartments, B&Bs and hotels in Campania.

I have nothing positive to say about Naples.

I have nothing positive to say about Naples. I found it a very neglected city. Streets were dirty with graffiti on walls and buildings. My friend and I were walking back to our hotel after a meal at 8.30pm. She was mugged, a thug pulled her head back from behind and grabbed her beautiful gold chain pulled it, broke it and was gone before we realised he had it. She was so stunned and shocked. We were terrified. We just kept walking really fast until we reached our hotel.. We didn’t think a lot of the city having sightseeing during the day. Our terrifying experience will ensure we will never be back.

The setting is magnificently beautiful, as are the views from sea-facing places. There are plenty of places to eat, and the food is almost invariably well cooked and of high quality, and the serving staff almost always polite, efficient, friendly, helpful and quick. Prices of individual dishes range from quite cheap to very expensive - so don't be afraid to order the cheapest dishes or wines: the quality is invariably good. Getting around Sorrento involves dealing with steep stairs and ramps and steep, narrow, winding streets, often ɓusy with buses, taxis and cars (and groups of tourists). But there are quick, efficient buses to get you from the station to lower levels and back, and public lifts. There isn't actually much to do in Sorrento, and it's mainly a place to enjoy a scenic, panoramic stay and use as a base for visiting other beautiful, scenic.or historic places.

Italians can be very rude and arrogant there and it's all about making money ALL THE TIME in any way they can. Prices are double than everywhere else little markets everywhere all overly priced for tired tourists. BUco Bar is OK and fairly friendly but train station has numbers to take for information and a lot of people lined up to ask question to Trenitalia. very bad experience with trains. their own people give you different information .v ery frustrating.

Been on my bucket list since studying Classical Studies at school. It did not disappoint. Steeped in history and you get a real feel for the terror those people experienced when Vesuvius erupted. I climbed to the crater so peaceful now hard to believe it caused such destruction. Seeing the House of the Faun made my day at Pompeii. Herculaneum was as impressive but smaller and easy to navigate. Pompeii is huge and it was hot with no shade this makes getting around in the crowds a little more challenging.

Love Positano, our second time visiting.

Love Positano, our second time visiting. However, very crowded in September and can be overwhelming. Great place for a few days, especially when planning to explore nearby towns, including Capri. One of our favorite restaurants that we returned to on this trip, which is still incredible is Donna Rosa, which is just up the hill from Positano.

Capri can be crowded even late in the season.

Capri can be crowded even late in the season. The marina can become overcrowded and navigating from the ferry to your apartment can be a challenge. Skip the Funicular if the lines are long and especially if you have baggage. The porters do a great job, but the cost can add up if you have several pieces of luggage. Take a taxi to your hotel/apartment upon arrival to save yourself a lot of trouble.
