    Well that’s a great questions I would have to say the only positive point about this property was the well kept garden, the rest is for sure about 40 years too old and in need of up keeping unless you like to pay high prices for and absolute ridiculous place.     Avellino Is situated in a very green and hilly area and Is surrounded by mountains. Not far from Salerno and Paestum, as well as from Naples!! Avellino offers a nice and clean center with pedestrian area and a beautiful Square with elegant and big fountains ( Piazza della libertà). Possibilities tò eat tasty pizza, also for less money.....High on the monte Vergine Mountain Is situated a famous Madonna sanctuary. And You can go up by car, or by cablecar. ( Funicolare air Campania,) which is the steapest and highest in Italy and Europe ..(5€)

    Grottaminarda was a quaint Italian town with friendly people. This town was very safe feeling. However, the streets were a bit difficult to maneuver in a larger vehicle. Nevertheless, even with American driving skills and an SUV, we got along fine in this town. Truly a lovely place.

    We chose Paternopoli because a grandfather was born there...

    We chose Paternopoli because a grandfather was born there before immigrating to the US. It is a nice little town on top of a hill with a couple of very nice restaurants and a number of nearby wineries -- we sampled wine at a modern one right at the edge of town. After leaving the expressway or train, the last 25 or so miles is a slow drive over very narrow, curvy, hilly roads. Paternopoli and the sourrounding countryside are very scenic. It can be a good central location from which to visit central Italy.

    We already wrote that in our opinion. Of course, everything depends on that what one expects. We got more of good that we expected. We stayed for a week to visit the area. For parents with children this apartment would be too small. It is perfect for a couple a single person. Probably,having a car is a must.

    Beautiful little Town in the middle of wine growing areas. Very friendly atmosphere, not crowded with tourists, more local life. Easy to reach by bus, Campania Airline- bus company and also Flix bus. Easy to drive car also, and hire a car.

    Beautiful hill town in the heart of Avelino in Campania. If I was going to explore the country side or Irpina a little more I would have stayed another day or two. Two nights gave us just the right amount of time to get to know Nusco without going further afield.

    I came to Avellino to see where my family came from.

    I came to Avellino to see where my family came from. This isn’t a tourist destination, but for me that made it even more authentic and enjoyable. Avellino is lively and the people I interacted with were gracious and kind. I enjoyed this town immensely.
