- From US$359.26 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.6Good - What previous guests thought, 83 reviewsCasa di Lago was just exactly what we hoped for - and more - just a short walk from the centre of town where the most difficult thing was deciding which restaurant to eat at. We loved our small terrace where we could breakfast or occasionally lunch - and the views from all of the bedroom balconies. But the best part for us was the private lakeside garden - I wouldn’t recommend it for children who cannot swim, as there is no really ‘shallow end’ - but for us it was simply bliss - time for a much needed relax. Reception staff were charming and very responsive, and there was free parking a short distance away. I can’t wait to return, hopefully bringing family and friends.Guest review byMayUnited Kingdom
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 7.6Good - What previous guests thought, 191 reviewsAwesome position if that’s where you wanted to be as it is a few kms uphill from Pettenasco Fantastic restaurant (although no breakfast available) Very generous helpful host opened up early to let us drop our bags in Clean room with nice balcony with view She gave us taxi numbers a lthough they were unavailable. Recommend having a car Apparently there were waterfalls somewhere We could have looked a bit more at the flyers downstairs , there were lots available The ones I took for the lac were good It was relaxing and peaceful thereGuest review byCarolNew Zealand

Overall this hotel was incredible an amazing location and such lovely and friendly staff that enhance the experience.Guest review byFrancescaAustralia

We love Orta San Giulio. It was our second visit.
We love Orta San Giulio. It was our second visit. We enjoy the town, the square, the restaurants and the views over the picturesque San Giulio Convent Island that you can reach by ferry and walk around quietly (it is a silent order of nuns) taking in messages on signboards that relate to life. We also visited the ancient St. Francis of Assisi Sacro Monte chapels (13 of them) on the top of the hill - a lovely place to reflect amid the quiet of the forest.Guest review byEsau - 8.0

If you are seeking peace, tranquility and natural beauty - this is the place for you. No children and gorgeous lake - much smaller than Como or Maggiore but you can easily get to Maggiore in 30 minutes if you want more life. Gorgeous restaurant which the hostess arrange for us with taxi to and from included just down the road and a little local Osteria 30 meters away for a truly local experience.Guest review bySusanUnited Kingdom - 10.0

There were market stalls on Thursday. Extremely helpful and patient locals (we speak a tiny, tiny amount of Italian). Great local takeaways, cafe's and restaurants. A couple of supermarkets if you really want them but why would you with all the local shops selling the best cheese, meats, bread and pastries.Guest review byMartinUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We only had one nights stay at the hotel as a stopover coming from france travelling down through Italy, however it was exactly what we expected and more. A really lovely location with a great aspect, Monte Bianco was viewable from our room balcony. it was very clean and the staff were helpful. the food was nice, however i would of liked to seen an itemised bill for our food, when we checked out. On retrospect i'm not sure if i was overcharged slightly for our dinner. If that was the case its partly my fault for not enquiring further. Having said this we would definitely return if we took this route again. Peaceful and enjoyable stay with clean nice rooms.Guest review bySimonUnited Kingdom - 8.0

We stayed in Alzo, part of Pella apparently, but its own little village up the hill somewhat on the west side of Lago d'Orta. The square looks over the lake: fantastic view with a small village feeling. Post office, lodging choices, church, dining (Osteria del Gallo), bank, all a short drive down to Pella or up more to the homes and sights high above.Guest review byWilliam - 10.0
Miasino is a quit small village.
Miasino is a quit small village. We choose for a dinner @ villa Nigra Taverne. Fine and fresh cooked. The other day we start to walk down to the lake steep but nice walk for 20 minutes and visit the old village for a couple of hours.Guest review byJanNetherlands - 10.0

This is a beautiful place, quieter than other lakes we visited and the town is easily explored on foot or by boat. It has a beautiful piazza and many bars and restaurants - but also historic monuments - such as a hermitage and the twenty shrines to St Francis. There are walks from the town, or across to the other site of the lake. People seemed relaxed and friendly, even though it was late in the seasonGuest review byPeterUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Very good welcome from the two brothers who run the Battle of Britain hotel. We had lunch and it was served in a large dining room overlooking lake Orta and the beautiful gardens downstairs. The view is stunning. Lunch was very pleasant. Good beef carpaccio served with plenty of parmigiano and small salads on side. I discovered a new Italian dessert called Bonet, a speciality from Turin. Efficient and friendly staff 👏👏Guest review byJean-MichelUnited Kingdom - 10.0
So quiet, so quaint. The Unesco site is very spiritual.
So quiet, so quaint. The Unesco site is very spiritual. Try to go early. This lake is so pretty and unspoiled. Stay in a hotel so you have the town for yourself at night. Not really, in September there are still many tourists but in the evenings the main square is a feast.Guest review byHubertUnited States
