FAQs about hotels in Liguria
A Spectacular Sea of Colour
Although one of Italy’s smallest regions, Liguria punches well above its weight for incredible scenery. Its coastline stretching from the French border to the port of La Spezia is lined with brightly coloured houses, including those spectacularly hugging cliffs in the Cinque Terre villages.
Equally impressive is Portofino harbour, one of the most beautiful in Italy. In a country that counts Venice, Sorrento and Capri amongst its harbour towns, that’s quite some accolade. Next door Rapallo has a long promenade watched over by a castle.
Levanto’s promenade is supported by pillars on the beach below and overlooks mountains descending into the Mediterranean Sea. Portovenere at the tip of a peninsula has a Gothic church on a rocky outcrop.
The Liguria capital is Genoa, Italy’s busiest port and home to one of Europe’s largest Old Towns. Varazze to the west has a sweeping beach, as does Alassio – 2 resorts with lots of Liguria hotels on the beach on Booking.com. A fortress guards the entrance to Savona harbour, while Albenga has medieval spires and cobbled streets.
Low hills are the backdrop to Imperia’s beach and neighbouring Diano Marina is lapped by turquoise waters. When thinking of Liguria hotels, luxury springs to mind and nowhere is this truer than in exclusive Sanremo, home to an annual music festival and glamorous casino.

The hotel is beautiful and elegant with contemporary coupled with classic decoration. Our superior room was exceptionally finished, extremely comfortable and very very clean. The bed linen, towels and robes were of excellent quality. Great detail has been executed to provide their guests with a feel good experience. Checking in and out and parking was made easy by the hotel. The terrazze bar and breakfast facilities were in keeping of the excellent standard provided. Definitely in one if our top five hotels visited. Special thanks to Francesca who made our arrival easy and pleasant. Also to the barman who let us try his special gin...Guest review byRobertFrance

A a place and a view you will never forget. The staff is beyond friendly and helpful, the rooms top class, calm and wonderfully decorated. Our room had an amazing balcony with seaview. All amenities you can think of are available in the room. The brand new Spa and Wellness area comprise a modern Finnish sauna, a hammam, fitness room and massage and wellness treatments The price may be a little steep, but this place is a hidden jewel on the Ligurian coast and the staff its gems. We saw the sea, the pool and the mountains from the bed and from the terrace as well. The swimmingpool is super with the view of the sorrounding mountains. You need swimming cap in the pool! The staff is very friendly, helpful. There are sport facilities, soccer field, tennis, volleyball. There are programs and music around the pool all day long, for the kids as well with animator. Genoa is a charming city with something for everyone.
Genoa is a charming city with something for everyone. It has a splendid port full of some amazing boats and ships. The aquarium was well worth the visit, beiing able to see the sea life at such a close distance and it seemed to go on and on with so much to enjoy - I particularly loved how the dolphins were trying to play and intereact with the people. There is so much beautiful architecture with churches, museums and castles, some buildings dating back to medieval times. There are plenty of caffes and restaraunts and shops. There speciality dishes were the many types of forcacia breads and their special pasta dish with 'troffie' pasta and pesto sauces with potato and green beans, the basil seems to grow in abundance there so the foods were freshly cooked. For beach lovers, there are also some good beaches, although for us, we spent our time exploring the city with its castles and churches and just taking in the amuance of this exciting city.Guest review bySarahItaly - 10.0

La Spezia is a lovely town with lots of good bars and restaurants. We based our selves here to travel to Cinque Terre by train and also to Port de Venere. I would recommend and like to visit againGuest review byEdelIreland - 2.0
Sanremo city itself is very disappointing.
Sanremo city itself is very disappointing. Streets and sea promenade are very dirty, stinky and overcrowded, sea is green, polluted, swimming caused allergies on my skin. The air in the city is extremely polluted as well: a lot of bikes and cars, very stressful. Food in the restaurants is not tasty, average, in some of them it is impossible to eat at all. I don't recommend to visit Sanremo to anyone, because it is waste of money, spoiled vacation, for a crazy big price.Guest review byKate - 10.0
The biggest (?)
The biggest (?) of the Cinque Terre towns with far more to do and see than the others. Confusingly split into two, connected by a pedestrian tunnel. The only downside was that weather conditions stopped the ferries (and boat trips) running.Guest review byMichaelUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Rapallo was fine but just to say a few more words about the hotel: the staff was very gracious, they even let us use some plates one day to have a lovely picnic outside and hooked us up with ice and glasses and things to enjoy our summer feast outdoors. They were so wonderful! They have created so much beauty on their property for guests to enjoy! It was truly lovely. I felt like I was in paradise! Rapallo was just OK for me. It seemed touristy and the food in town was my least favorite of my trip. Like they didn't care much about the quality of food they are serving the tourists. I get it, but it was just not very thrilling. But that's the effects of tourism. I was also surprised to learn that the beaches cant be accessed by everyone, as in the US. However, it is a beautiful town, the shops, bakeries, culinary stores are nice and I enjoyed them.Guest review byCarrieUnited States - 10.0

Levanto was the best place to anchor a visit to Cinque Terre. After visiting each of the small towns, we found Levanto to be a good place to return to in the evenings. Being a bigger town, there were a lot more options available for everything: groceries, restaurants, beach, gelato!, laundry, etc. It was a very friendly family centered community. Kids were out playing every day, people were riding bikes, and the town square was always busy with activity. It was just absolutely charming.Guest review bySusanUnited States - 10.0

Very nice town with piazza and typical fishing village small streets. Has shopping and many restaurants. The beaches are very nice, mostly sandy with some pebbles at the shore. The water gets deep fast in 2-4 meters it is 1.5-2 meters deep with some waves.Guest review bypaulSwitzerland - 10.0
Lovely town with many shops, restaurants and plenty to do.
Lovely town with many shops, restaurants and plenty to do. The beach and the sea looked very inviting even in winter! Easy to walk around and we found it very easy to visit nearby towns using trains which are reasonably priced and comfortable. Not easy to park near the centre, but there are several car parks for a reasonable hourly rate.Guest review byClaudiaUnited Kingdom - 10.0
