Small extraordinary hotel on the hill in the middle of apple plantation and vineyard. Beuatiful view from room. Comfortable bed, all you need you can find in the room. Breakfast was perceft, selection very wide and delicious.     There is a lot to do in Merano, rain or shine. Of course, there are the local & famous walkways, the mountain hikes, bike trails, and the Dolomites are nearby. On rainy days, there are castles, the Terme spa/pools. Overall, it's a very nice town with a lot to do.

    Nice small village near Merano with plenty opportunities for walking and proximity to Merano attractions. We visited during off-season, so most of attractions and restaurants were closed, but we had many Christmas activities in Alto Adige, even Schenna had tiny market.

    A lovely little place with great amenities and activities for all. It is best known for it's hiking/walking paths, but it is also a bit of a mecca for cyclists. It caters for all levels so is great for all. You can go hang-gliding, horse riding, rafting. There is something for everyone.

    It's one of those villages that "gets" to you.

    It's one of those villages that "gets" to you. The village itself has very narrow streets (thankfully, many are one way only as some only barely fit one car) but the surrounding area offers plenty of hiking trails and the local waterfall, which is rather impressive. Plus this is one of THE wine and fruit growing regions in Southern Tyrol so there are plenty of locally grown foods available and I highly recommend stopping at the many stalls in the area that sell those products.

    The village is small but well equipped with all the amenities. It's also within a 30-45 minute walk to Merano, either via the higher pathway (i.e. the Algunder Waalweg) or via lower streets. On Friday mornings there is an organic vegetable market in the side street close to the EuroSpar grocery store that sells delicious local produce.
