The Citta Alta is lovely and there are many things to see both there and in the Citta Bassa. The Cathedral, Art Museum and the Piazza Vecchia. We ate at La Ripa - excellent food and service. Orio al Serio is very pleasant, calm and quiet...if there is no plane taking off, which happens every 5 minutes. I recommend it if you have an early morning flight or arrive late at night, in which case you can easily get to/from the airport on foot in about 25-30 minutes. Our full day experience in QC Terme was above all expectations! The range of activities is more than one can imagine, from variety of indoor and outdoor pools (bubbles, fountains, waterfalls, ice baths, balcony baths etc), over saunas for everyone's taste (cinema sauna, healing sauna, 40 degrees to over 80 degrees), to feet treatments and face trainings, and more! Food selection was also great, with an all you can eat lunch buffet and an afternoon aperitivo. The good part of this accommodation was that the apartment...
The good part of this accommodation was that the apartment was really close to the airport. We lost our flight and rescheduled for the next day early in the morning so that is the reason that we choose this apartment and because it was of the cheapest in the area. What we met was not so pleasant. There were still toilet papers even with blood inside the toilet bin, the pillows and the bedsheets where dirty, the glasse for the water had even lipstick on them and the apartment in general was not cleaned. Quiet, remote place, pretty close to the city of Bergamo with relatively easy access by bus! Nevertheless for them planning to visit pls get as much info prior as, Info at Bergamo practically does not exists! The info center ouside the Airport is open 09:00 - to 13:00 and that's it ! Sarnico is worth a visit.
Sarnico is worth a visit. We were there on a Saturday night and it came alive. The bars were open until 2am. Lots of bars and places to eat (although we eat at a Wine and Bruschetta bar which I wouldn't recommend). Nice walk around the edge of the lake and across the bridge to Patatico. Good: For an affordable place very near to the airport without any visible staff, the room itself was actually really quite nice and had everything I needed for a quick stay. It was clean and comfortable. It's perhaps a 15 minute walk to the airport, so the location for when you're flying the next day is excellent. Keep in mind: The rooms are only accesible via stairs, so any luggage has to be carried up. It's a self check in, I received my password and instructions via WhatsApp. The location seemed to be on an industrial terrain and you need to walk through a short tunnel and on some areas without a real sidewalk.
