This hotel is a little gem. Very clean, light modern rooms, well designed with an extremely functional bathroom and comfortable bed. Lovely soft linen and towels. Cute little balcony with view. Air Con worked really well. Family run, such nice people & couldn't do enough for us. Excellent breakfast, replenished regularly. Used the ferries, the bus and the trains over 4 days. 2 x stations in town. Hotel is less than 100m to lake & ferry, large supermarket around the corner, laundry in the next street. The town is a little stunner and we so enjoyed our visit. Hope we can one day visit again. Thank you Hotel del Conte.

Our bus was late so we arrived at 2am but regardless we could check in easily. The staff was amazing, our room was huge and extremely clean. We had breakfast at 6:30am and it was amazing and tasty!

    Unforgettable! Having stayed in numerous hotels around the world, I can confidently say that I have never come across such an extraordinary level of service: 1. Geographically, it is situated in a breathtakingly green and beautiful area right next to a large lake (lake major). This location makes it an undeniable oasis of relaxation, and it also offers easy access to the islands in the lake. 2. The hotel itself boasts impeccably maintained green spaces that are truly exemplary. Every photo I took could easily be framed and displayed on a wall. My room was exceptionally beautiful, and when I opened the window, I was greeted with a scene that can only be described as a living and dynamic masterpiece of beauty. 3. While the hotel may not be a modern building, its Italian identity adds a delightful charm to the overall experience. I was glad that it wasn't modern because it allowed me to feel the authenticity of an Italian family-run business. 4. The hotel manager, fluent in English and French languages, (I don't know whether he likes to mention his name here or not) can only be described as an angel. I have never encountered such exceptional service in any of my previous trips. Not only did the staff adhere to all hotel etiquette, but the hotel manager also provided unwavering support in every situation that arose, treating me like a close friend. They went above and beyond, from giving a ride and providing me with printed maps for train routes to lending me a jacket on a cold day. Such unique and extraordinary hospitality is something I had never witnessed or heard of before.

    I have stayed at this property for 7 years, each time I visit Italy for business. It is convenient by Train to Malpensa airport and is a great location in Saronno, with good local restaurants nearby and very affordable. Plus only a 30 min train trip to Milan central, however is less than half the price of Milan hotels for the same quality. Plus guest laundry facilities to allow you to wash and dry mid-travel is a wonderful bonus, with the tokens only at EUR 5 per wash and dry. I highly recommend this hotel.

    Everything was amazing. The location is perfect: near ferry, and the funicular. Its great to spend more time and have time for the pool relaxing and also to visit funicular. The breakfast was good. Staff is really helpful and friendly. There is elevator, car parking and everything needed to have great time in the hotel. Clear and comfortable rooms.

    Hotel easy to find although there was some confusion at the airport as to where the free airport shuttle bus left from but perhaps the driver was just having an off day. The room was well equipped and spacious but we had no hot water in the morning. Breakfast was good and plentiful. Staff were very helpful and friendly

    Villa Cagnola is not in Varese but 6 kms outside the town. If you are just passing through on an overnight stop then you need time to see the city. We walked to the nearest restaurant and had a very good dinner, beautifully served. This was in Gazzada.

    I wish I had taken the opportunity of the shuttle bus to the hotel - I drove and took a wrong turn and almost ended up in Switzerland! - and hired the car the following day! It was very late. The hotel was clean, the staff were very welcoming and considerate even though it was gone 23:00 when we arrived. The room was well-appointed but not fancy: it had everything one needed for the night. The breakfast the following morning was solid fare: good coffee and croissants, just right for setting out on a journey.

    It's a great place to stay if you need to be near the airport. We drove for the afternoon to Milano. It was an easy drive. Best to use the airport shuttle rather than have to deal with turning in a rental car since that place in the airport was confusing.

    This is an interesting small town with two spectacular churches in particular. The main reason for staying a night at the beginning or end of a trip is the proximity to Milan Malpensa Airport (15 mins by express train) and the fact that accommodation and restaurants are much cheaper than at the airport itself.

    Really agreeable hotel. Great and comfortable rooms, nice and quiet location. Good breakfast (unfortunately served in an underground floor with no natural light). Beautiful garden and pool that we didn’t have the time to use!!

    Even just before leaving Italy after a great trip, you can enjoy the cute little town with an interesting river flowing through it. We also visited some of the high lights of the town as Villa Agusta,Ponte di Oleggio and Parco Naturale.

    I only stayed overnight but had time in the morning to walk around the area. It's a mix of old an modern which is lovely. There are a few cathedrals within walking distance near the Tower Hotel where I stayed, quite a number or restaurants and lots of charm. I would love to see more.
