- From US$462.44 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.4Superb - What previous guests thought, 129 reviewsCalapetra Resort in Sicily is a true boutique gem that masterfully combines authentic Sicilian charm with understated luxury. This resort offers a refreshing simplicity that feels intentional and elegant, creating an atmosphere where every detail speaks of thoughtful design and genuine comfort. Staying here is like discovering a peaceful sanctuary that embraces you with warm hospitality and a refined yet unpretentious vibe. What makes Calapetra especially standout is how perfectly it aligns with the boutique and luxury experience: intimate, personalized, and rich in local character without ever feeling overwhelming. The setting enhances this feeling, offering stunning views and a serene environment that feels like your own private escape. While there are other restaurants nearby, I would highly recommend avoiding most of them as they don’t live up to the quality you’ll find at Calapetra. Instead, be sure to visit *Vista Mare*, a Pearl of a restaurant that resonates beautifully with the resort’s ethos. Vista Mare effortlessly blends sophistication with authenticity, offering exquisite local dishes framed by breathtaking sea views. It’s a perfect complement to the Calapetra experience, enhancing your stay with flavors that are as genuine and refined as the resort itself. In all, Calapetra Resort stands out as a luxury boutique destination where simplicity is the ultimate sophistication, and authenticity is woven into every moment of your stay.Guest review byBrunoSwitzerland
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 298 reviewsWhat more can I say. Our own pathway to the beach with less than 10meters to the water and even more WOW was having our own private pool on the terrace over looking the sea. The Staff were amazing with customer care at highest level. This location, venue, quality of meals are exceptional. For anyone interested, please book the wellness & Spa experience at Whitebay. You will be amazed. Thank you Sophia, Marika, Valentina for bringing us much love & care. We will be back.Guest review byPaulAustralia

Ortiga was beautiful.
Ortiga was beautiful. Definately recommend a walking tour of the area. Loads of places to eat and/or have cocktails. We especially enjoyed Moon - a vegan restaurant. (And we are not vegan or vegetarian usually). Also take a guided tour of the Archaelogical Park to get the most from it. We had a car so had to pay 15 Euros a night to park outside Ortiga but parking was close by. 2 days is enough time to see. We used the 3rd day to drive to a canyon with natural pools and then visit a nearby sandy beach.Guest review byMiriamUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Beautiful beach and cliffs around the town.
Beautiful beach and cliffs around the town. Unfortunately not many restaurants and option to eat. The litters are on the beach and no one cares there. But the beach, water and the surrounding nature is just stunning. The place is easy to be reached by local train.Guest review byŠtěpánkaCzech Republic - 8.0
Cassibile in itself is a pretty normal town.
Cassibile in itself is a pretty normal town. There are all the amenities one would expect to find - pretty much within walking distance of the property we stayed in. There are some fabulous pizzerias which are worth trying out. The best thing about Cassibile is that it is within very short driving distances to Avola, Fonte Bianche, Noto, and Ortigia to name a few great locations.Guest review byFionaMalta - 6.0
The area is about 20 minutes from the main city by car.
The area is about 20 minutes from the main city by car. It is a quiet area with simple reasturants on an undeveloped sea inlet. There are farms and boat yards on the bay. The area does not have many tourists so if you’re wanting to getaway from city life this may suit you. I would say a car is necessary to explore this area. We ate at a small restaurant with outside area by the water. Great sunset followed by reflection of the city lights over the bay.Guest review byterenceUnited Kingdom - 10.0

I love Ortigia which is why I took a coworker there who is just exploring Sicily for the first time. For sunset you walk to the western side of the island but you can find many good places for a cold drink and to watch the sun set. A short boat and bus tour added a new experience. There's a lot of great dining on Ortigia and it is hard to go wrong.Guest review byfrequent pngUnited States - 6.0

White Bay is a very nice hotel right next to the beach. The area in general is not so interesting, and with a very low amount of shops, cafees and restaurants. I recommend to visit White Bay but not the area in general.Guest review byClaus Dall LarsenDenmark - 10.0

Stay in Oritigia if you want to explore the historical and cultural sites. It is easy to walk around, is a lovely old town with lots of restaurants, bars and small shops. Trains and buses mainly operate from the Syracuse proper and it is a much more spread out and modern city. We travelled to Syracuse from Taorimina by direct train (2 hrs). Most of our time was spent in Ortigia but we did have a trip to the archeological park in Syracuse(bus/taxi trip needed) which was worth a visit but very confusing in terms of accessing it and getting around it.Guest review byAlex - 8.0
I would recommend the area for a short trip for the beach.
I would recommend the area for a short trip for the beach. In truth, we didn't venture anywhere else other than the villa and the beach as we went there for a change away from the cities we were visiting, but there didn't seem to be a lot to do in the area besides that anyway. The beaches were good, not the best we've been to, but still good, and generally the facilities there were good too.Guest review byMikeUnited Kingdom
