    he location is absolutely breathtaking – words can hardly describe it. The property is well-kept, historic, and full of unique charm. The staff are extremely kind and helpful, and the owner personally talks with guests, which makes the stay even more special. Breakfasts, lunches, and dinners were all served with spectacular views – over the vineyards, the surrounding nature, the charming town, and the mountains. The breakfast itself was incredibly rich and varied – far from a typical Italian breakfast – with fresh fruit, a wide selection of dishes, and around ten different kinds of juices. Lunches and dinners with those views created a truly unforgettable experience. We stayed in the tower room – the view was simply indescribable, something you really have to experience yourself. The apartments are spacious, and despite the castle’s long history, everything was perfectly functional – no issues with water or air conditioning. Every detail was carefully thought out, and we truly felt the magic of the place. The outdoor pools with stunning scenery, comfortable sunbeds and umbrellas, the indoor pool, and even the spotless, well-equipped gym with a panoramic view of the valley – all of it made our stay exceptional. In summary – this place is absolutely worth visiting. You feel comfortable, enchanted, and truly special here. A destination that leaves unforgettable memories.

    The city is incredibly charming, with a vibe that feels much...

    The city is incredibly charming, with a vibe that feels much more Austrian than Italian. It’s also surrounded by plenty of beautiful hikes (which I wish I’d had time to do!). I only stayed for two days, and while one day is enough to see the city itself, the real highlight is exploring the trails and nature nearby. The food is distinctly Austrian, hearty and delicious, and the bakeries are absolutely fantastic.

    We just visited small central, old town part of Caldaro and it was nice for one/two evenings. We mostly travelled outside the Caldaro just having hotel in that town. Surrounding vineyards are lovely to visit and enjoy vine tasting. Great roads for motorbike or bike trips.

    Eppan is a great smaller area outside of Bozen. We enjoyed being close to both the city and nature. There was a local market on Tuesday, and the bakeries and restaurants in town were all delicious and staffed with friendly employees. A cool little spot for a trip!

    Now I am receiving rude responses from the Hotel Rotwand saying: "we do not have "italian" personal in the hotel, from eveyone the mother language is german dialect but italian citizien, so your coment look racists or even without sense. the cleaning women is not mexican, she is peruvian like i told you. if the beef you had at dinner wasn´t right, we could change it without problem" To which I must respond that I spoke Spanish with the lovely maid. Sorry I didn't know she is Peruvian, but that's no reason call me racist. I thought Fabian was an Italian name. Again sorry but that doesn't make me racist. Your rudeness continues even now after I've gone. = (

    Lovely traditional small Italian town in South Tyrol.

    Lovely traditional small Italian town in South Tyrol. The free use of local buses and trains with the Sud Tirol card made it very easy to get to places. Easy to get into either Bolzano or Merano. And great local wine trail walk with the history of the local wine region.

    Felt like Austria in Italy.

    Felt like Austria in Italy. Wonderful, relatively easy hike along the Freud Promenade (after a wonderfully long cable car ride with panoramic Alpine views) to a village where he got married and summered frequently. The Great Dolomites road was stunning. Otis the Copper Age mummy was well displayed quite interesting.

    Great place to stay while visiting the beautiful Alto-Adige region. The BZ bus pass is an easy way to get to Bolzano City Center without driving a car. Parking in town is challenging and/or expensive.

We went up to Ober Bolzano with the big cable car ride, it was amazing the views of the Dolomites unbeatable. What an amazing experience and the people of Bolzano are extremely welcoming and friendly, the service excellent
