FAQs about hotels in South Tyrol
Tyrolese Magic among the Italian Alps
Part of the Alpine regions of northern Italy, this small province mixes great ski slopes, rich traditions from Austrian, Italian and Ladin cultures, stunning landscapes, and great food and wines. Seasons make no difference here, as the enchantment of South Tyrol has always something magic to offer.
With strong cultural and historical bonds with the Austrian Tyrol, this tiny region has a population with a German-speaking majority. The charming towns spread through its undulating geography mix the Tyrolese and Italian influence.
In the picturesque capital Bolzano, the Walther Square with the Cathedral of The Assumption of Our Lady and the trendy shops along Via dei Portici are a must to visit. Known also as Bozen, it is famous for the Christmas Market, where most of the hotels in South Tyrol get sold out quickly.
Merano is the 2nd city in the region and is famous for its spa facilities. And of course, also some the best luxury hotels in South Tyrol are located here. When you talk about Südtirol, it is also important to mention skiing in the Dolomites, Val Badia or Val Gardena: white beauties that you won’t be able to resist.

- From US$240.86 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 482 reviewsOne of the best places I’ve ever stayed in with the most incredible views of the Dolomites on your doorstep. We stayed in their Yakima (tent option) which was very comfortable and spacious, with spacious storage units underneath (but be aware of ladder access only to use these). The facilities on site were incredible, super clean and lots of them so it wasn’t busy! Lovely sauna and spa included, and some of the best breakfast (included!) options. Options for dinner on site were so well made, and the on site shop and electric charging came in very useful. Would 10000% stay here again when we come next time.Guest review byNavkiranUnited Kingdom

We loved the walk down and back to Merano, keeps you fit, and that you could access the scenic paths directly from the hotel. It was also great to have parking. The city is incredibly charming, with a vibe that feels much more Austrian than Italian. It’s also surrounded by plenty of beautiful hikes (which I wish I’d had time to do!). I only stayed for two days, and while one day is enough to see the city itself, the real highlight is exploring the trails and nature nearby. The food is distinctly Austrian, hearty and delicious, and the bakeries are absolutely fantastic.Guest review byLuiza - 10.0

There is a lot to do in Merano, rain or shine. Of course, there are the local & famous walkways, the mountain hikes, bike trails, and the Dolomites are nearby. On rainy days, there are castles, the Terme spa/pools. Overall, it's a very nice town with a lot to do.Guest review byLisaUnited States - 10.0

Because of the two gondolas accessible in town, we were able to explore both sides and experience a variety of terrain, none extremely challenging which worked for our various fitness levels. The views are stupendous and the convenience of the huts along the trails for lunch, a drink or even a break from the rain were fantastic. We didn't need to worry about packing snacks or lunches, and instead enjoyed reasonably priced, delicious meals along our hikes.Guest review byCarmenUnited States - 10.0

Great base near many cable cars to get up the hills and enjoy the walking and views. Free buses between all the villages is a great help and they run regularly. We stayed 5 nights and then went over to just south of Cortina for a further 5 nights which was a really good balance to explore different areas of the Dolimites with less driving.Guest review byFrederiqueUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Kronplatz is everyone's favorite skiing destination.
Kronplatz is everyone's favorite skiing destination. Many slopes of varying difficulty. Something for everyone. All are very well groomed every single night. Lifts are refreshed / replaced by newer at extreme rates. Parking at the bottom station of the gondola is the best that you will ever experience and the price is quite affordable.Guest review byJurajCroatia - 10.0
Dobbiaco is a really beautiful town.
Dobbiaco is a really beautiful town. There is a train station for trips to other nearby towns or into Austria. The bus service is excellent. You can go for hikes up the Dolomites and reach the famous three peaks. So much to do. The drinking water is amazing.Guest review byMonica - 10.0
Location was excellent as could walk into town in 5 mins.
Location was excellent as could walk into town in 5 mins. Location was super quiet, parking undercover in the garage. Everything needed for self catering, well equipped kitchen, very spacious bedroom and lounge dining, Host was Doris and was very responsive to a few questions. I will definitely stay again next time I am in the area. Breakfast not supplied as was ABNB format and was self catering. Will stay again and recommend to anyone. Supermarket was 5 mins walk into town, Plenty of cafes and restaurantsGuest review byMichael BakerAustralia
