The garden is simply beautiful, with a sparkling clean swimming pool, comfortable garden furniture, mediterranean vegetation, lots of flowers and sculptures. The room is very comfortable and quiet, and the children really enjoyed having their own little room on the loft. We also had a small terrace overlooking the garden. The hosts are very kind and helpful. Duino was an excellent starting point for exploring the area and there were also sights to see here: the Duino Castle and the Rilke Trail. I absolutely loved the location of my hotel in Trieste.
I absolutely loved the location of my hotel in Trieste. It was walkable for everything on my bucket list except Miramare Castle. I took the Hop on Hop off to the Castle. So many excellent restaurants and cafe all within a couple of blocks of the hotel. I was taking a cruise from Trieste which is why I choice the hotel. It was only less than a 10 minute walk. Also, the sunsets on the pier of the Adriatic Sea are within a 8 minute walk of the hotel. Wonderful stay!!Guest review byLyndaCanada - 10.0

There is no modern bakery or coffee house in the entire village. We felt that a bit of progress or a more modern atmosphere was missing—perhaps a case of resting on one’s laurels. I wish we had more time to explore the area. We found a cute part of town with an amazing restaurant. We plan on going back to Trieste next year and would stay there again. The only issue we had with the unit was the area is a little run down, and the TV is very old and will not support streaming. We liked Muggia.
We liked Muggia. It is small and easy to navigate the old town. The main Piazza has several bars and cafes, friendly and welcoming for a drink or a meal, and fun for people watching. There are more cafes and bars towards the waterfront. Just stroll around and enjoy the relative tranquility. We arrived in Trieste by train, taxi to Muggia was around 35 euros. We took a day trip back to Trieste by ferry (fun in itself), and did lots of walking from Muggia. It's a nice respite from the tourist circuit, and so pretty with stone buildings and small alleyways, plus the castle (exterior) and Duomo to enjoy. The village itself has not much to offer (in terms of sightseeing), but for me as a base for exploring the karst by bike it was perfect. Went on the tourist tram up to Via Stradicana / Napoleonica. Get off at Obelisk stop not end at Opicina. Tram is a little hairy especially just after the start when they add a second engine; also crowded. There is also the 64 bus right nearby if you think might be queasy. Central Trieste has been thoroughly refurbished during Covid and looks like a set from Studio Ghibli. The old town is buzzing with bars and restaurants.
