- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.6Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 344 reviewsThis was such an incredible hotel. What made it MOST incredible was the staff. From the breakfast staff, to the car driver to the front desk staff, they are so incredibly warm, sweet, helpful, professional. I was actually a little sad to leave mainly because of them. They were so amazing to my son, that he misses them too. I spent my bday here and they really went OUT OF THEIR WAY to make it an incredible birthday. They TRULY understand what it means to be in the hospitality business. The owner needs to give them all a raise!!! Also, the location is beyond perfect! I highly recommend this hotel when visiting Vulcano.Guest review byConnieUnited States
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 7.2Good - What previous guests thought, 223 reviewsBecause of a "plumbing issue" we were rebooked to "Mari del Sud" Resort. From the outside it looked like the neighbouring Hotel Garden has shut down forever. So we got a free Upgrade, thank you for that. Special thanks to the extremely lovely and helpful staff at Mari del Sud, who made us enjoy our stay even more: Valentina, another young gentlemen whose name i didnt catch unfortunately but who was very helpful arranging a boattour and Ygoro.Guest review byStefanAustria
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 107 reviewsWe were very surprised by the quality of the furnishings, particularly the bathroom, which was brand-new and comfortable. Allhough we chose the smallest room, it was big enough to fit three people comfortably. The balcony was great for an evening chill. After seing the rest of the harbour area we agreed that the location couldn't be better. The owner responded flexibly and was very helpful with storing the luggage before the check-in.Guest review byJoannaPoland
- From US$700.05 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Superb - What previous guests thought, 261 reviewsEverybody was so helpful and friendly. The owner picked us up from the port, made very good recommendations and helped us immediately as we had difficulties with our rented Quad, they helped us reserve different restaurants and were always reachable. In between walking distance are beautiful black sandy beaches and lovely shops. Best part of the island! No bad smells. We had a lovely, very clean and comfortable room. A perfect stay!Guest review byJenniferGermany
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 386 reviewsExcellent location: on the way to the crater and far away from the mud baths (so no unpleasant smell). Very clean place. WiFi and airco worked perfectly. Mini fridge available in the room. Very nice and welcoming host. Would definitely recommend!Guest review byRADABelgium

We found the nicest hotel; Sables Noir; they had a spa and a private beach. We hired Bicycles from the Hotel (better than the hire companies), by the hour or half day or whole day and the Hotel staff were all, from top to bottom, an amazing, cohesive and energetic team ; (even though it was end of season.) Volcano is beautiful but very small so shorter stays and/ or home cooking is recommended as the choice of GOOD restaurants is limited. We took a private boat to Lipari for the evening, which was fabulous and something different.Guest review byLucyUnited Kingdom - 10
Incredible wee island.
Incredible wee island. Loved that you could cycle everywhere easily, there were lots of mini adventures to be had e.g. Vulcanello crater, snokelling, Monte Saraceno, Capo Grillo viewpoint & of course the Vulcano crater hike. Lots of great places to eat, cute, off the beaten track feel. We loved how quiet everywhere was in October.Guest review bykatherineUnited Kingdom - 10
I love Volcano.
I love Volcano. The relaxed, laid-back atmosphere has brought me back half a dozen times and it never fails to delight. Sadly Maurizio's restaurant is no longer in operation but there are still some other places to eat that don't disappoint. Walking up the volcano is always fun, though they have restricted access to the zone of the fumaroles now, and the mud-pools have been closed completely. I was told this is because they have got too hot. We also went to visit the cat colony who are situated on Vulcanello, and was pleased to see that they have been moved to more comfortable quarters. Swimming in the sea - especially where it's sprinkled with hot bubbles - is always a delight. The Spiaggia Nera (black-sand beach) has not hot bubbles but is really pleasant. My only gripe with Vulcano (and the whole of Sicily) is that there is too much litter everywhere. It could really do with a good clean-up. The friendly, relaxed people go a long way towards making up for it ... maybe if they weren't so relaxed they would organise some clean-ups!Guest review byWendy TeasdillUnited Kingdom
