First of all, the building and interior were very unique and interesting compare to other typical hotels in the area. The staff were very polite and helpful. Special thanks to Mr. Taro, the general manager, who was actually physically present and working with the team! He was so elegant, kind, and very thoughtful and made our anniversary even more special:)! The dinning option was excellent and we really felt like we were well fed. We especially enjoyed dessert section. The hotel is very modern and so clean. The bed was large and very comfortable(not like most Japanese hotel beds which are small and firm.). The hotel was about a 15-minute taxi ride from Fukuoka Airport (about 2,000 yen or $14). Hakata Station was about a minute walk from the hotel. The hotel cost was under $100 per night. There are spaces for children like parks, swan boat rides and easy drives to places like Yanagawa for its canals and local craft, Yame for craft, Kurume for fruit picking and Momochi Beach presents an amazing sunset. Yanagawa is famous for its Unagi i e grilled eels with a sweet soya sauce. It also has a beautiful canal and you can take a trip down the canal on a boat . It feels like the Venice of Japan. We were super happy with everything regarding our stay. Our room was very well thought-out with beautiful touches and the private onsen was just perfect. The staff were amazing and the setting of the place was very beautiful. The city is a bit more worn down then I remember from prior trips. Lots of good places have closed or changed into different businesses. The construction is also more frequent around the main station. The food is still just as good as ever and there are still hidden gems if you explore some of the less traveled areas. This is a small town but perfect for conference or a few day escape from routine trip. Some attractions like shrines, few hiking trails and a railway museum are around.
