- From US$108.22 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.2Very good - What previous guests thought, 918 reviewsThe staff tried very hard to communicate with us in english and helped us as much as they could, which I felt was a lot and made things easier for us. The cleaners were also very considerate. Breakfast buffet was great as well, lots of variety and the menu changed daily. I travelled with my young children and they were able to choose atleast 5 options daily from the breakfast buffet. Parking is available outside the hotel for a small fee. Location is also far enough that you’re able to be out of the busy area but close enough that it’s only a 10 minute drive back towards the station and close to the motorway if you want to travel out further.Guest review byTaufaAustralia
- From US$55.52 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.6Good - What previous guests thought, 224 reviewsLocated in the city centre, the hotel is standing in just a walking distance to the area for dinner and drinking. 6 minutes on foot from the railway station was just okay for me, of course there are many hotel options for travellers to Iwaki city, some of them are closer to the railway station. The hotel offers a welcome drink, served for yourself from a server machine, also self-served curry rice, only on weekdays until 9 p.m., and a public bathing room. I enjoyed bathing while nobody was there, which was refreshing.Guest review byShinJapan

Room was quite big and price at Yen 9,100 including dinner and breakfast was value for money. There are many more sights to see which we couldn't fit in.
There are many more sights to see which we couldn't fit in. Having an interpreter guide was great. The Hanamiyama cherry Blossom Gardens is a must see. The whole valley and mountain were covered in new cherry blossom - spectacular, we were there on April 2, 2025. Easy to get to by bus.Guest review byPeterAustralia - 10.0
The hotel location was great.
The hotel location was great. It is directly across the street from the train station. It was very easy to get around by walking or taking the JR rail. We had an amazing view of the street below. There are many convenient stores, restaurants and eating places nearby. Shopping is everywhere. We went to “Round 1” entertainment center for arcade games. They also have bowling, karaoke and a kids zone. There is a free red bus from the station or you can take a 15 minute walk to get there. In the same parking lot we shopped at “Don Côté”, Japan’s biggest discount store.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0
There is more than meets the eye in this city.
There is more than meets the eye in this city. Online guidebooks/tourist information is limited. Many of the sightseeing spots are spread out, so you need time to go from spot to spot. There are some of places not featured well in guidebooks that are still worth seeing, so plan a little extra time when you go!Guest review byHenryUnited States - 10.0
Iwaki is a beautiful quiet city.
Iwaki is a beautiful quiet city. There are many restaurants with Japanese food. There are wide food markets. There are many hotels. Transportation to Iwaki is fine. You can learn about the Japanese style of life. You can also visit the towns close to Iwaki.Guest review byCartasJapan - 8.0
It’s a small rural town but has all services you need.
It’s a small rural town but has all services you need. Multiple supermarkets and 100Yen shops, plenty of restaurants and convenience stores, it is almost essential to have your own transport but it’s on a train line with a station. There are numerous ski slopes on the surrounding hills and I guess the main tourist season for the town is in winter/ snow time. We visited late May when all rice fields were planted and surrounding the town with reflecting pools of water.Guest review byBerndGermany - 8.0
Its not that easy to get around, if you are not driving.
Its not that easy to get around, if you are not driving. mainly by bus or walking, but there's not a lot of tourists, so its quiet and nice. There's a crafter centre- Akabeko Crafter Bansho, which is great for kids and rainy day activity. The kids get to paint a akabeko of their choice (there are different sizes). We didn't get to go around much as it was raining, but the Tsuruga castle was beautiful even then and we would love to go back next time in spring.Guest review byAnonymousSingapore - 10.0
Iwaki is a modern city.
Iwaki is a modern city. You can travel to Iwaki by the Hitachi/Tokiwa train from Tokyo Station. There are many good restaurants and food markets in Iwaki. The environment is beautiful, mainly in spring and summer. You may visit other cities in the surroundings. You may visit the aquarium and museum.Guest review byCartasJapan - 10.0

I was originally staying for two days but I was lucky that there was space for me to stay an extra night. It meant I could travel to Aizu Wakamatsu and Nanukamachi on one day and then cycle half way around the lake on the next day. Then the arrival day i went up to Goshikinuma ponds and walked the nature trail (stunning) and I just chilled at the lovely guest house after lots of travelling! Inawashiro is very quiet but lovely scenery with a great beach by the lake. You do need a car or bike to get to it though.Guest review byElinUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Aizu Wakamatsu has a lot of interesting history.
Aizu Wakamatsu has a lot of interesting history. You can visit the castle, botanical gardens and Sazaedo. There is a national park close by so renting a car and exploring the countryside is highly recommended. A trip down to Ouchijuku and a foot spa along the way takes half a day and it takes a day to travel on the Skyline to Azumakofuji, a volcano which sometimes omits gasses, so the road maybe closed. One or two days is definitely not enough to discover this amazing area.Guest review byClaireJapan
