- From $269.12 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 5,176 reviewsit was not a common experience in Asia, that when you send your room requests for a famous hotel and they apologised to you for not able to fully satisfying you, and then asking you to probably consider an alternative hotel. Most hotels, would reply you that they will try their best. Majority would try, but they won’t do their best. Who would spend so much effort on a customer who would only spend one night! But Hotel new grand was different from the rest. The team definitely tried their best, from the start of my booking, till I waved goodbye. The room reservation team, Sakiko, was always honest and found time to elaborate on my room choices, the pros and cons of staying in her hotel, as she simply worried that their historic hotel would be too old for my liking. The lobby manager, Mr Tanaka, accompanied me during my checkin and checkout, showed me my room, assured me that everything was checked, and reconfirmed with me whether the room was to my liking. When I mentioned a minor issue during checkout that the in-room clock having a ticking sound, he quickly recorded down in his notes. The rest was memory, of the window view, of the running water that fills a bathtub within few minutes, of squeaky clean room, of staff and doorman who greeted u everytime you stepped out or went in the hotel, of their signature napolitan pasta and Seafood Doria. Thank you, Hotel new grand for making me fall in love with you, and Yokohama.Guest review byPanSingapore

Safe to walk at night or day as a solo traveler.
Safe to walk at night or day as a solo traveler. Bustling, huge city of pleasant people, great restaurants with variety, fun shopping, beautiful peaceful shrines and gardens. Gardens on rooftops, too. Luxury shopping in the Ginza but also small local shops to discover and explore. Transportation options with trains and subways abound. Many other memorable towns and sites for day trips nearby. I loved it and would go back to Japan any time. I loved the range of affordable food choices, from convenience stores with yummy snacks, to simple rice plate food, to more upscale offerings. A visual treat too, of bright graphic signs and night lights.Guest review byJudyUnited States - 10.0

The Open Air Museum was exceptional - a must see. The cable car to the volcano rim was beautiful, as was the charming pirate ship cruise around the volcanic lake. The scenic Tozan railway was a great way to travel to our destination near Gora Station.Guest review byCarolUnited Kingdom - 2.0

Don’t stay at an airport hotel unless you have an early am flight. Hotels are too far from amenities. Train service in Japan is so good that you can stay an extra day in Tokyo and other areas close to Tokyo and get to airport if your flight is laterGuest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Chiba is an amazing city and because Star Wars Celebration 2025 was held there this year, I had to come and visit. The city is only about an hour away from Tokyo and going there from Chiba was easy to do. Locally speaking, Chiba offers many different places to eat (some of the best donuts I've ever had came from a donut shop called Uni Donuts close to the hotel I stayed at) and a cool Anime hobby store.Guest review byOliver - 10.0
Our trip to Nikko was nothing short of magical.
Our trip to Nikko was nothing short of magical. The town is surrounded by some of the most beautiful forests and breathtaking waterfalls I’ve ever seen. Every corner feels like stepping into a postcard—lush, serene, and full of natural wonder. The town itself has such charm, with its cozy streets, warm hospitality, and a peaceful atmosphere that makes it easy to slow down and simply enjoy the moment. We stayed for three nights, which gave us time to explore, but we truly wish we had stayed longer. There’s so much more to see and experience, and the beauty of the area leaves you wanting to return.Guest review byTracyUnited States - 8.0

We were attending a event in Kawasaki so that is why we stayed there. We didn't really do much sight-seeing in Kawasaki. We liked that the city was only a short train ride to many other cities like downtown Toyko and Yokohama. We enjoyed the many shopping and restaurants around Kawasaki Station.Guest review byScott - 10.0

Nice quiet suburb of Tokyo that isn't overpriced or infested with tourists, but also still has easy, reasonably direct access to Tokyo city center. Only downside is there's not too much in terms of nature or views, but overall still have a nice relaxing vibe.Guest review byLittleBlueStarJapan
