- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.1Very Good - What previous guests thought, 623 reviewsThe breakfast was delicious. The food tasted very fresh. We especially appreciated that many of the food stations had attendants preparing the dishes. It got very busy at one point, but we never had an issue getting our food. The shuttle to and from Toba Station was very convenient. We contacted the staff from a payphone at Toba Station. We were able to communicate our needs through our very limited knowledge of the Japanese language. The driver took our luggage and said they would store it till we checked in. This allowed us to continue on with our sightseeing plans without physically going to the hotel first. That really helped maximize our time in Toba! Wonderful Service!Guest review byCarole AnnUnited States
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 7.9Good - What previous guests thought, 734 reviewsThe staff was very friendly, we checked in super late at 11pm, she greeted us with a smile (with a mask of course) and had the room ready for us already! The hotel location was easy to find, just need to leave from the side exit of the station and walk for about 3 to 5min!Guest review byNicoleCanada

Planning a trip? Get inspired by reviews of cities in Mie

We loved our trip here.
We loved our trip here. Little did I know, I seem to enjoy travelling in a pretty laid-back city and Ise was just perfect for that. If you're craving for a small city experience, out from the other international travelers, I'd recommend Ise for sure.Guest review byRizki Dwi KelimutuIndonesia - 4.0
Tsu is actually my 2nd least favourite city in Japan.
Tsu is actually my 2nd least favourite city in Japan. I was only staying there because it was the only place I could get a hotel for my trip in the Ise area. Despite not being a huge city, it is quite unfriendly to pedestrians and there's honestly not too much to enjoy in the city as a tourist. The busses do work really well and are unlikely to get stuck in traffic because of how unnecessarily wide (4 lanes) the main road is. Trains in Mie in general are a little difficult to understand as a tourist (even as one that speaks and reads Japanese quite well) so you need to be careful when relying on Google Maps and you're probably best off just going to a MAIN station (like Tsu Station) and making your decision when you get there. The Yuki Shrine that I went to years ago was nice and there's a decent art museum if you like that kind of thing, but neither of these things are terribly unique. I have however had the best burger of my life in this city (at a place called Both Rich) and the hotels I have stayed in this city have been good and good value for money too.Guest review byMarcusJapan - 8.0

Shima is more rural Japan, and there is many nice scenerie.. There is even very nice surf beach (Kou Shirahama), where i have visited many times. Best in summer/autumn for surfing, but beatiful all year round.. You can rent boards for example from Le Ba Surf. Pearl road is good to drive with scenic spots and Anori and Daio has few lighthouses with stunning views. Also if you like pearls, there is a lot of pearl industey around and you can buy pearl jewelries etc. You absolutely need a car to get around properly, it is rural, and access to most places is just by car.Guest review byTatuFinland - 10.0
Excellent room with nice views. Lounge service is great.
Excellent room with nice views. Lounge service is great. Very good range of drinks and nibbles. We had a dinner at the restaurant (Mondo misaki) which served amazing courses. The most of ingredients are from the local and they were carefully prepared. So good. Onsen spa is relaxing and enjoyable.Guest review byAnonymousUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Suzuka is a little bit off the normal tourist route.
Suzuka is a little bit off the normal tourist route. It's nice to walk around neighborhoods and rice fields, have a night at the Aeon mall shopping, and enjoy a city amongst real Japanese families. Transportation around the city is easy to navigate with bus and trains.Guest review byDeborahUnited States - 10.0

The attractions are walkable and the paths/streets are interesting. The relationship of the city with water is fascinating - flood control, water harnessing, water transport - and can be seen on the various infrastructure and parks. I enjoyed visiting and checking out Rokkaen and Kyuka Park.Guest review byIds229Philippines - 10.0
Loved the city!
Loved the city! I always dreamt of visiting the "Ninja City" to visit all the cultural places there! Had the chance to go to the Akame 48 Waterfalls, Iga-Ueno Castle, the Iga-ryu Ninja Museum, Matsuo Basho's memorial museum, had nice meals in traditional local restaurants such as Tenrakuza Wakaya, and had a great opportunity to visit an amazing antiques shop called Kobijutsuhin Ooyabu Shokodou( 古美術大薮尚古堂), where the store owner showed me swords, spears, armors, pottery, and jitte! Definitely a nice city to visit if you love the Ninja Culture and Japanese History!Guest review byMax Hanzo UedaBrazil - 10.0

I visited Ise to see and experience Ise Grand Shrine. I am interested in the mythology about Japanese shrines and also in the Imperial Family system. My parents visited Ise when they were young and I wanted to do the same trip.Guest review byHisako - 4.0

It was Ocean`s Day long weekend, granted it was still rainy season, but there seemed to be nobody in town. I had the swimming beach to myself (but the showers had already closed by 5 PM) There seemed to be no tourists or tourist shops nearby. It felt like a ghost town with all the derelict hotels. I wish it had more of a beach resort vibe with little shops nearby. The seafood was excellent at our hotel. (Shima = fishing town, not so much a resort town). If the sky were clear, I bet you could see the stars well from Shima.Guest review byStacyJapan - 10.0
We stayed here after visiting Ise Jingu.
We stayed here after visiting Ise Jingu. Really enjoyed the open air onsen, and the spacious tatami room. Toba is a VERY small town and very quiet with not much to do. Ate some great seafood at a local restaurant. Only stayed in Toba one night before taking the ferry and driving back to Tokyo.Guest review byEmilyCanada
