The hotel owner provided excellent service to us. They even invited us to feed the cats in the hotel and prepared an excellent dinner for us. Also, they drive us to the cat Island ferry port the next day. I received an unique and unforgettable experience and I highly recommend this hotel.

It’s so hard to find hotel rooms that are completely dark at night. To have a nice night of sleep I need a super dark room to sleep and thanks to them I slept like a baby. There was a lot of lights if I wanted to turn it on (really good for make up) but if I wanted to sleep it was as dark as possible. The bed was also super comfortable. The way they design the room was so smart and made the room looks bigger than it was. We had more than enough space for our things. It was super spacious. I have a lot of make up and it was really easy to do with the nice table and nice table Mirror that they provide. I have a lot of hair, a lot and usually the hotel hairdryer don’t work for my hair. They all take ages to dry, but theirs was pretty good. Also de amenities were of such a nice quality. The location is also perfect, close to the station and with a lot of restaurants and shops around it. We always walked everywhere.

    Our family of 3 stayed in the "Renovated Deluxe Twin Room" for 3 nights. The room size was good with an extra single bed set before we arrived. The bathroom size was good. The two windows can be opened, it was nice to have some fresh air instead of always turned on the air-con. Appreciated the big bench top of the two beds, the 3 seats sofa and the long desk. The room view was nice too to look over the city streets. As it was the deep Autumn during our stay, the yellow leaves trees along the road were very beautiful. The buffet breakfast was excellent. It was provided in their big banquet room, very grand. They provided variety good quality of foods (including Japanese and Western styles), many home-made items or sourced from famous places in Japan. They have chefs to serve some items like steak, pancakes etc. Very good service provided by the staff. We felt no boring for eating three days breakfast there because they would change some items daily. Finally, you can take away a cup of tea or coffee before you leave, as they provide paper cups for take away. Their lobby is big, we saw wedding banquets carried in their hotel. We felt like it is at least a four star hotel instead of three stars as stated. The carpark was located at their basement which is connected with a shopping mall. Make the payment Yen1,500/day at the front-desk, then you can access the car freely for drive-in and out.

    Amazing comfort with great views, exceptional breakfast and dinner buffet. Plenty of space in the room, modern amenities. Sea view is postcard quality. Wifi is good. Plenty of sockets in the room. There are souvenir stores with a wide range of local goods. Buffets are splendid value, with Japanese and Western dishes made to order in front of you, self-service international cocktail and wine station, comparable to Turkish-style ultra all inclusive. There is an English menu. Hotel is within walking distance of the JR station, but there are also taxis queuing when a train arrives. Close to attractions in Matsushima Bay. Hotel has a fleet of bicycles and e-bikes for reservation.

    The room had an awesome view of the garden. Loved the illuminations, they were lovely. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and some spoke English. I would like to thank Sendai Royal Park Hotel for receiving my package in advance & helped me pay for the cash on delivery package first before my arrival. I couldn't thank them enough, they made my stay so enjoyable. The bed is comfy, the room is clean, customer service is impeccable! It is a beautiful hotel if you wish to chill & enjoy the quietness, & visit Sendai Ice Skating Rink (Yuzuru Hanyu's training rink) which is pretty near to the hotel. Thank you Sendai Royal Park Hotel!

    I sadly only got to visit around the station area both alone, with a friend and some locals and it was the highlight of my trip. The huge shopping area starting from the station extends for many blocs and has everything you could ever want from arcades to second hand shops to all sorts of restaurants and cafes. The malls next to the station have all your sort of branded shops like Gundam Base and Pokemon Center. The nightlife is pretty nice and the few places we hit while wandering with a friend from Sendai were very tasty and everyone's super friendly!

    Declared one of Japan's top 3 scenic views, this is a cute hamlet to get away from big city travel. They have wonderful oyster/seafood restaurants, beautiful shrines, and a gorgeous waterfront. Easy daytrip from Sendai, but worth a night's stay if you have the time.

    Zao has a property alpine village, the mountain is great, very scenic. The snow quality is great due to the colder temperatures. The only thing we didnt like was the lift lines on the cable car or ropeway as they call it and the gondola to the top to see the snow monsters. The lift lines were 1-2hrs long due to all of the sightseers. They have a priority line and bus loads of people turn up after you have been waiting for an 1hr and go straight in front of you.

    The town of Shiogama is what we Americans call a "bedroom"...

    The town of Shiogama is what we Americans call a "bedroom" community of a large city - in this case being Sendai. It has all the basic amenities that a traveler needs (restaurants, convenience stores, etc.). All the action that a typical seeks is in Sendai which is only but a 15 to 20 minute ride by JR Rail. In my opinion, staying in Shiogama has its advantages in terms of affordability (especially for B&Bs) since Sendai can be quite pricey. Travelers should take that into consideration.

    I had a fantastic stay at this ryokan. The indoor onsen was wonderfully relaxing, offering a peaceful and soothing experience. What truly stood out, though, was the incredible staff. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel like family—attentive, kind, and always ready to help with a smile. Their genuine hospitality really made the stay special. The room was comfortable and traditional, with everything we needed for a cozy, restful night. I highly recommend this ryokan for anyone looking for exceptional service and a peaceful getaway.

I also very much enjoyed the walk through the mausoleum grounds, but the rest is very much "just a city", and I didn't find anything else that was particularly interesting for me. The local specialty of beef tongue is nice, but quite pricey for what it is (it should be noted I'm mainly vegetarian, so meat-lovers might feel differently!).

    Matsushima is a small tourist city, quite a few coaches and tour parties. The main attraction is a boat trip around the bay which is recommended, although it may be nicer in one of the smaller boats. Don't miss the local temples, which have lovely gardens, and in Autumn, light ups, which shouldn't be missed.
