- From US$862.83 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Superb - What previous guests thought, 1,491 reviewsI need to rave abut this hotel. Firstly, i had arrived onto miyajima island really late due to some confusion in kyoto. I had informed the staff that I was delayed and was likely to only arrive after 9pm. They told me to call the hotel so that they can send the shuttle over but once i arrived, i saw that the shuttle was already waiting for me! And I was delayed from the time I told them I would arrive so they must have waited longer than expected. Once I got to the hotel, as they knew to expected me, check in was super quick. Hotel was beautiful and the single rooms were really cute (though small in the way japanese rooms usually are). Location of the hotel also cannot be beat it is right in the middle of all the attractions, and the staff were knowledgeable about the opening hours of attractions. Just when i thought it could not get better, when i told the hotel I was trying to catch a particular ferry timing back to hiroshima, they rushed me to the terminal and i managed to make the ferry! The team went above and beyond to make this solo traveller comfortable and safe. Thank you so much! :)Guest review byNatalieSingapore
- From US$676.88 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.4Superb - What previous guests thought, 329 reviewsOh, Iroha…. Where do I begin? We were greeted by the friendliest and kindest front desk staff, both of the ladies were extremely welcoming and helpful. They asked about our dinner plans and book us a table at a wonderful place. As this was the first place in Japan with Onsen that we stayed at we were explained how to prepare and what are the rules. We went there in the late evening, it was empty and from the outside bath you could enjoy the amazing views of Itsikushima Shrine, just magical! Also we were given a free upgrade to queen suite which we did not expect at all and it was incredible. I could not recommend enough this place and staying at Miyajima Island over night in general. You can’t fully experience the unique charm and beauty of this place by coming just for few hours. Come for a night or two and stay at Iroha, I can guarantee it will be a highlight of your Japan trip! Thank you for having us!Guest review byMałgorzataPoland
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 1,573 reviewsStayed for a honeymoon. Staff went ABOVE and BEYOND; personally handwritten note during dinner, honeymoon gift, amazing service throughout at check-in, kaiseki dinner, japanese breakfast (superior even compared to other part of japan), calling a free shuttle for us to the ferry port. First time at miyajiama and i will be back.Guest review byAndyYUnited States
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very good - What previous guests thought, 911 reviewsThe classic Ryokan vibe was super cool. The traditional meals were excellent and the service was great. The location was perfect, peaceful even during the day. Amazingly quiet and beautiful in the evening. There's a shuttle to/from the ferry terminal but it's just a 20 minute easy beautiful walk if necessary.Guest review byClayCanada

It does get busy during the day when lots of tourists come...
It does get busy during the day when lots of tourists come over by ferry for the day however we hired bikes and managed to stay clear of the crowds for the most part. The Island becomes very quite in the evening which is perfect, I would advise that you book a restaurant as lots of the island closes around 5-6pm so anything that is open later gets booked up. We were very lucky to just get the last free table on two occasions. Also the deer wandering around especially in the dusk and evening before al the ferries drop off are enchanting, however they are not like the deer in Nara park and there are lots of signs that remind people not to feed or bother the deer, not everyone follows these rules which is disappointing.Guest review byDonnaUnited Kingdom - 10.0
It was my second trip to Miyajima island.
It was my second trip to Miyajima island. The first time I only travelled their with my wife and we did not stay in any accommodation. I left back on the ferry same day feeling that I had to eventually return. I was able to do that and I loved every moment. It's an island I would consider going back too again and staying over again. The island offers so much. For those that want heritage and history, tick. For those that want a close encounter with a deers, tick. For those who love calm beaches or mountains, tick. For those that want experiences with friendly locals, tick. Those wanting to do shopping, especially souveniours, tick. For those who want physical activity, the walking trails up the mountain are a definite tick. I could go on, but, for so many reasons I love and would highly recommend travel to Miyajima.Guest review byAdamAustralia - 10.0
Miyajima is simply magical!
Miyajima is simply magical! From the moment you step off the ferry, you’re surrounded by stunning natural beauty, peaceful shrines, and the famous floating torii gate—it truly feels like stepping into a sacred, timeless world. One of the most enchanting parts of the island was wandering through the smaller shrines tucked into the forest, where rows of little Buddha statues wear hand-knitted red hats and bibs. There’s something incredibly touching and serene about them—like the whole island is wrapped in quiet reverence. Add in the friendly deer, delicious street food (don’t miss the grilled oysters and momiji manju!), and the breathtaking views from Mount Misen, and Miyajima easily became one of our favorite places in Japan. I didn’t want to leave!Guest review byMichelleNew Zealand
