- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 54 reviewsI can’t describe adequately how much we enjoyed our stay at Refre… Peter, Jen and the whole staff went above and beyond to make us feel like family. Any request or help we needed was met with kindness, humour and efficiency. What made our stay so good was that it seemed that the Refre team really enjoyed having us there. Not like other hotels in Japan, where people are polite but robotic, we honestly felt more at home at Refre then at some family Christmas lunches! The hotel had such a good vibe, excellent breakfast, great communal area where you can sit and meet other travellers, have a beer or a tea. The private onsen was pretty special, after a day on the mountain, having the option to relax in a thermal onsen was very luxurious. The other great thing about Refre is that they know the town very well, can recommend the best places to eat, where to get gear from and details about each ski resort that you wouldn’t know. We will be back, for longer and telling all our friends to book at Refre!Guest review byTiarneAustralia
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.6Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 39 reviewsBeautiful vibes with owners Kimi and Miyu, with their lovely daughters running amok and bringing cheer everywhere! Rooms were great. Breakfast was just right, decent variety and plentiful, perfect for fuelling before a day out. Really wonderful memories of Japow house, especially while winding down in the evenings with other guests, amidst the open and homely vibe. One thing to note for rental cars - make sure you get a 4wd, else when the snow picks up, you have to park at the post office carpark some ways out nearer the main town strip.Guest review byJING HONGSingapore
- From US$96.61 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.2Very good - What previous guests thought, 450 reviewsThe Onsen on site was so amazing after a day of skiing at one of the Myoko resorts, the massage chair was a nice bonus. The private Onsen you’re able to book for 1 hour was such a luxury! They offer a free shuttle to and from various resorts in Myoko which made things very easy. The staff was so lovely and even went above and beyond to send me a very sentimental piece of jewelry to my next hotel in Tokyo after I left it there. Would recommend to any of my friends who will visit Myoko.Guest review byHarleyCanada
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Superb - What previous guests thought, 51 reviewsLocation, overlooking the gondola, in the snow, the absolute definition of ski in and out yet walking distance to restaurants. Excellent staff, Japanese family owned and operated, common area drying room. helpful on bookings, passes, transport, rentals. The real life images are better. Rooms much bigger than described.Guest review byDominicHong Kong

Myoko is an incredible region of fun, the mountains offer heaps of ski resorts with fantastic runs, lessons, places to dine and sit with a hot beverage or refreshen beer or sake. Its wonderful for both families and those who are daring to hit the slopes for thrills. The hotel shuttles, local buses and taxis make travel from resort to various slopes, very easy. The locals are exceptionally helpful and friendly.Guest review byBec DoyleAustralia - 10.0
The snow in Myoko is otherworldly.
The snow in Myoko is otherworldly. The powder is unimaginably great and really loved visiting Seki Onsen Ski Area. It's a small, family-owned ski area run by the Inoue Family who are the kindest and most hospitable people you'll find anywhere in Japan. Family-owned and run ski areas are in decline with large corporations buying up ski areas across Japan, so it was a real treat to ski at an area where the snow was perfect and you're supporting a local business. 10 our 10 for Seki Onsen Ski Area!Guest review byAaronUnited States - 10.0
Ski areas vary considerably in the area.
Ski areas vary considerably in the area. Akakura Onsen has absolutely the worst lifts i have experienced in Japan. When they weren't broken down they were extremely slow. On the other hand Suginohara has a new gondola and modern 'high' speed lifts. This was the pick of the mountains to ski for me.Guest review byAnonymous
