- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.4Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 367 reviewstldr: perfect stay, we'd stay there again! Nice staff, good food, amazing Onsen, good value for money. Long version: Well kept, well maintained and clean hotel. We stayed in a tatami-style room, which was very roomy for 2 people. Our room on 3rd floor was facing the road, with a nice view of the mountains. Despite being located next to a road, it's no problem as there is little traffic during the day and almost none at night. There is an outdoor Onsen with a view of either the mountains during the day or the stars at night. It is so relaxing to enjoy the stars in the onsen after a day of hiking! For people arriving by car, there's plenty of parking spaces right in front of the Hotel. For people arriving by bus, the bus stop is right in front of the Hotel. Very convenient. The staff is amazing! They really, really made us feel welcome and put in a lot of effort to make our stay great. Big "Thank You" to the staff!! The food (breakfast and dinner) was great as well. It's a variety of local and general Japanese food, served on traditional low tables (that allow western type of sitting with a hole in the floor below the table). The Hotel is a bit more expensive than what we usually book and we were hesitant when we booked it, but after staying we think everything considered (food, onsen, staff) it's good value for money and we'd stay there again. Iya Valley: We stayed for 3 nights, which means two full days. We didn't have a car so we relied on the public bus, which means there's basically one bus to Mount Tsuragi in the morning and one bus back in the afternoon. We went hiking on Mount Tsuragi & sight-seeing in Ochiai village on one day, to Nogoro (Scarecrow) village & double vine bridges the other day. By car, it can be done on a single day, by bus you need 2 days due to the timetable. Arrival & departure day can be used for the vine bridge close to the Hotel, visiting Oboke and the temple in Kotohira.Guest review byAndreasGermany
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very Good - What previous guests thought, 824 reviewsBeautiful hotel that makes you feel like you are transported back in time. Very comfortable room, lots of space, and very good breakfast with dining room looking out to a beautiful garden. The onsen is beautiful with both an outdoor onsen and a sauna and cold pool. Imabari is a very cute town with a nice castle and several very cute cafes, we enjoyed exploring it for a day after completing the Shimanami Kaido and this hotel is in a very convenient location—we were able to walk to everywhere we wanted to go.Guest review byChloeJapan
- From $276.11 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.5Good - What previous guests thought, 691 reviewsHotel is close to the theme park as it is the only hotel associated with the theme park. BUT the hotel and theme park is quite far from the train station. There is a free bus shuttle but runs infrequently. We ended up taking taxis to the facility . The hotel is huge and it had lots of things that could accommodate the large crowd: Pool and game rooms for children, large onsen baths, large self serve restaurant, and a big store for shopping.Guest review bySharonUnited States
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very Good - What previous guests thought, 383 reviewsIt combines the charm of a traditional ryokan with the amenities of a modern, more western style hotel. Excellent food and friendly, helpful staff, always ready to meet your needs. Add to that an outdoor, rooftop onsen and you have everything you need. Next door to the famous Dogo Onsen, a nice shopping arcade and bus and tram spots and its location can’t be beat.Guest review byWilliamUnited States

Matsuyama is a city with a lot to offer. From the stunning views from Matsuyama castle, to the history of Dogo Onsen. Perfect size city , all the mod cons without the mad cap rat race of Tokyo or Osaka. Excellent amount of restaurants and food outlets with a great food hall at the bottom of the main shopping area. Tokushima is a nice and vibrant city, that gets the most of its hype during the great Awa Odori Matsuri, held in mid August. If the temperatures are too hot for you, you can still see Awa Odori performances all year around. From Tokushima is also easy to reach Naruto, with its famous whirlpools.Guest review byGiorgio_EItaly - 10.0

Niihama was a perfect stop in our bicycle trip (perfect distances between two spots). Otherwise there is not much to do in the city unfortunately. But we can recommend a good place to eat udon, it is called うどん茶屋志 Japon, 〒792-0865 Ehime, Niihama, Sakuragicho, 3−36 道 Really huge bowl of udon, tasty and cheap !Guest review byPerrineFrance - 10.0

A small town set in a valley surrounded by steep forested mountains and a majestic river Gateway to Iya Valley and other stunning sights. No shortage of top class food options and bars (particularly Casual Bar for great fun and karaoke and Cafe Addcolor). And the locals are some of the very nicest and generous people I have met. Can easily spend days just walking around the town and hidden laneways to shrines and spectacular scenery. I will definitely come back.Guest review byFulford-Smith - 8.0

I ejoyed my stay in the Kabuki theatre, where a well-knolweged guide gave a great commentary. The trip to Konpira San was interesting. You will enojoy the walk to the main builiding, the grand view of Kotohira, the souvenir stores, and the museum with old Japanese paintings and art works.Guest review byPoLun - 10.0

Takamatsu is a regional town on Shikoku Island in Japan.
Takamatsu is a regional town on Shikoku Island in Japan. It is quite relaxed and has everything that you may look for in big cities. Shikoku Island is one of the main 4 Islands of Japan. It is good to reach by train, bus and even by airplane. It has an old history and boasts of many traditional handicrafts, regional specialties (such as udon noodles), etc. Always worth a visit - even if it is in the rainy season.Guest review byGalinski
