Everything, upon arriving and entering the lobby then into our room the surroundings already felt super relaxing, even more inside the room where all you need is available from full skin care, comb, body towel, coffee, black/matcha, different type of pillows (firm/soft). We didn't get the chance to try the onsen, breakfast was great as well. Options of japanese and western sets for each person. Check-in was smooth and the concierge was super helpful.

Our stay was the most wonderful hotel experience we have had in Japan (and beyond). The room was a true dream, the personnel was friendly and accommodating, and the Onsen under the night sky had the most amazing atmosphere. The location is perfect for a quiet retreat from the city, and has a lot to offer for tourists.

My first impression of the hotel was overwhelmingly positive, largely due to its excellent location. It is conveniently situated near two significant city landmarks: the Mt. Fuji World Heritage Center and Fujisan Hongu Sengen Taisha. The hotel is also less than a 10-minute walk from the nearest station. The architecture of the hotel was not only stunning but also harmoniously integrated with the nearby museum, creating a cohesive and inviting atmosphere, surrounded by picturesque woods. The rooms and the building looked exactly like the pictures online, which was very impressive. I must highlight the exceptional service, which was the best I have ever experienced. Despite the small size of the city and the complexities of local transportation, the hotel staff went above and beyond to assist us. They helped us arrange taxi tours for the afternoon and paid meticulous attention to our needs as we were the only guests for the day. This included managing food allergies with a customized menu that was thoughtfully prepared. The hotel offered complimentary drinks and snacks, including a wide variety of famous teas and local delicacies, all at no extra charge. The in-room water machine provided unlimited hot and cold water, and options for tea, juices, and even alcoholic beverages were readily available. The delicious and fresh breakfast, prepared from local ingredients, was outstanding. The selection of amenities was excellent and well-suited to the natural surroundings. Unlike other hotels that use aromatic sticks to enhance the atmosphere, this hotel benefitted from the natural aroma of the surrounding woods, which was truly delightful. The furniture, crafted from local wood with unique and authentic designs, added to the charm of the setting. The cleanliness of the hotel was impeccable. The spacious bathroom, equipped with a private sauna, boasted a design that captured the essence of a ryokan, offering privacy and luxury.

What are delightful family stay. The pool was large, clean and with beautiful surroundings. The beds were comfortable. The hotel was very well located near Shimoda within walking distance or a very short drive to the town, a multitude of stunning beaches, and lovely hikes (walks) by the 7 waterfalls region. The washer/dryer was also quite reasonably priced at 100-200 yen per wash or dry. I wished we could have stayed longer. Of note, this is one of the few pools in the area that was open so early before the Jspanese summer holiday. We went in early July.

The hotel is very well located and has a very efficient shuttle service from the Kawazu station: we were able to use it to drop our luggages in our room and go back to explore the Kawazu cherry blossom festival! The room is beautiful sea view. Public bath are very pleasant. All the hotel is adapted to children (welcome kits, high chairs, playing area, even the public baths are well equiped for them!). The staff is really nice and helpful. Thank you for this nice stay :)

Absolutely stunning location. Beautiful historic building, spotlessly clean and comfortable with incredibly kind and friendly staff. The onsen baths were lovely and the peace and tranquility were very special. The meals were fantastic - two of our party don’t eat fish and the hotel went out of their way to provide delicious and varied alternatives. The staff who looked after meal service were so friendly and helpful, explaining how to eat the more complicated courses.

A well located hotel with a great view of the bay from every room. Attention to detail was nice - every guests is lent a kimono to wear for dinner during their stay. The dinner buffet is very good with a wide selection of food, including simple sushi. (Every nights' buffet is the same but that's ok.) The breakfast buffet was also good.

    Shizuoka is a hidden gem.

Shizuoka is a hidden gem. You can stay here and get to many sightseeing destinations by rail (day trips) and come back to the relaxation of more laidback location. Locals are very pleasant and friendly, not so jaded by the over tourism of Kyoto and Osaka. We speak very limited Japanese, but were welcomed and managed in small local restaurants and Izakayas.

Quiet seaside town with no tourists apart from us. Easy to get to from Osaka. Stayed in a traditional ryokan (tattoo friendly). Spent the day walking along the harbour to the ropeway up to Atami castle which had several different art displays and museums including an adults only one and a great view of the coast. Away from the beach things were pretty steep so a car might have been a sensible option

Hamamatsu is a small industrial city located about halfway...

Hamamatsu is a small industrial city located about halfway between Kyoto and Tokyo. It has a number of industrial tourism sites - Suzuki Plaza, esp., and music-related sites - Yamaha Innovation Road and the Musical Instrument Museum. There are a number of Jazz- and Classical-music festivals in the fall, and that is a good time to visit. Lake Hamana is beautiful, and there are a number of interesting temples, shrines, and historical sites like the small but beautiful Hamamatsu Castle. Mostly ignored by Western tourists, but easy to get around, it's charm is in one's ability to visit Japan as it is for those who live there.

I travelled from Tokyo to Shin-Fuji via Kodama Shinkansen.

I travelled from Tokyo to Shin-Fuji via Kodama Shinkansen. The fare is ¥5900 one way and travel time is nearly an hour. I stayed at Toyoko Inn which is 150 meters from the Shin Fuji station. There are lots of car rentals in the area but I was not able to get one as they only accept advance booking from their website. It took me 2 hours getting to and from the foot of Mt. Fuji, by bus and a 15 minute walk in the village to reach my destinations. Roads are quite narrow but they are common in Japan. Like most countryside places in Japan, Fuji is relatively clean, rich in nature, and lots of places to explore. My advice if you want to visit Fuji: 1. Travel by Shinkansen going to and from Fuji. 2. Rent a car so you can visit most of the attractions in and around Mt. Fuji. 3. Spend at leat 3-4 days in the area. 4. Bring cash with you always as most establishments are cash based. 5. Download Papago app on your phone so you can translate Japanese images, signs, etc if you're having difficulty understanding the language. That's it and enjoy your trip to Mt. Fuji.

Everything about Gotemba is excellent and magical.

Everything about Gotemba is excellent and magical. Gotemba is one of the most significant epicenters for adventure and sightseeing in all of Japan. It is of course an exceptional gateway to hiking and adventuring on Mount Fuji using the Gotemba, Subashiri and Fujinomiya 5th Station traiheads. Hakone-Yumoto onsens/spas and Lake Ashi are also right in the area. Free shuttle buses offer a 20 minute ride straight to the Famous Gotemba Outlets if shopping for 15 hours is what you are in the mood for. Don't forget Odawara Castle just down the way or Fuji-Q and the Fuji Speedway just up the way, to name a few. Gotemba ROCKS! Mount Fuji and the Osunabashiri descending trail are really the #1 world class attraction among many. Furthermore, all the special local people who support all the vast Gotemba opportunities are the best and truly loved.

Sunshine and twilight views from the seashore ate so excellent The sound of waves, the feel of sand, and the sun create a soothing environment, making it a perfect spot for relaxation and stress relief. Restaurant nearby are very few and most of those restaurants closes early and operates only weekends and holidays so you have plan were to eat your meals beforehand.

    Mishima is a diamond 💎.

Mishima is a diamond 💎. It was one of the most beautiful places I visited in Japan. The gardens, clear water streams, beautiful people, wonderful parks with animal petting zoo make this area a magnificent visit. Being on the doorstep of Mt Fuji it’s easy to catch public transport up the mountain. If you are looking for a top notch Japanese kitchen knife to take home, visit 3 waves. They have a great range of knives, higher quality than specialist stores in Tokyo or Kyoto with prices much lower than everywhere else I looked in Japan. The owner is learning English and will help you out. She is second generation. He father left the stock to her.
