- From US$288.23 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Superb - What previous guests thought, 112 reviewsWe had a wonderful night in Yamanashi prefecture. We booked the hotel as it was our anniversary and we were visiting some vineyards in the area. Being from the UK we did not know what to expect and the view from the hotel terrace of Mount Fuji blew us away. The amazing staff, who were just the most friendly of our 3 week trip, showed us to our room and we had been upgraded to a suite. It was by far the biggest hotel room we have ever stayed in and absolutely huge for a Japanese hotel. The best part was that we got a perfect view of Mount Fuji from our bedroom. A spectacular treat. We ate in the hotel and had a set Japanese meal which was delicious. We practiced our Japanese as all the staff spoke little to no English, but they tried so hard to help us and were amazing. The next morning we had a nice breakfast while watching a film crew make a movie on the terrace. An added bonus. We wished we could have stayed longer and our amazing reception lady even helped us to our car with our massive suitcases. The stay really exemplified Japanese warmth and hospitality. I wish I had taken names so I could mention them personally. We were made to feel so special and it was explained to us that not many British tourists visit them and the region. I can tell you that everyone should explore beyond the main cities, as the wine is great, the countryside splendid and the Fuji views (if you're lucky like we were and got a sunny day) were breathtaking. A true highlight of our trip. Thank you everyone.Guest review byjulieUnited Kingdom
- From US$537.13 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 1,519 reviewsI had an amazing time at this hotel! The staff was exceptionally friendly and highly professional. They spoke perfect English, which made communication seamless. The hotel has a onsen. The famous Chureito Pagoda is just a short walk away, making it very easy to visit. The shuttle bus takes only 6 minutes to reach the Kawaguchiko station. The food was absolutely delicious, with a wide range of options to satisfy every taste. The sushi, in particular, was outstanding. While not every guest may be lucky enough to get a perfect view of Mount Fuji, it’s still a beautiful place, and the overall experience was fantastic. The view of the lake from the hotel was just stunning, such a peaceful, picturesque setting. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing stay with excellent service and easy access to local attractions!Guest review bySabihaGermany
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.8Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 466 reviewsA house with a great view of Fujisan. We are a party of 2 adults and 1 child but we chose the chalet which can accompany 6 people because of the view of the Fujisan and it was all worth it! The house is very cozy and we felt at home. The kitchen was well equipped they even gave us the condiments to cook. The beds are futon Japanese style. Amazing patio with a view and they can provide BBQ at extra charge. Plenty of parking spaces and there is a small children playground in front. We really felt at home while staying 3 nights there and will definitely return. Remember to book the big house, the view was amazing.Guest review byPraepilaiThailand
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 2,134 reviewsAmazing location! If the weather allows it, you have a perfect view of Mt. Fuji-san! The staff were amazing, really helpful and even assisted us with ordering food from outside, as we arrived quite late. Also the room had an amazing balcony view of the lake & mountains. The private open air bath was also really great!Guest review byYat Han VincentNetherlands
- From US$269.24 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 3,677 reviewsAmazing View - Direct view of Mt Fuji at the front door. The property is huge and plenty of space for my kid and my friend's kid to run around. The Location is quite remote, around 10 10-minute drive to the nearby town. There is no convenient shops or food stores nearby. The nearest Family Mart is an 18-minute walk away.Guest review byGIN FAIMalaysia

The whole bathroom is higher which is a little weird but not a problem, maybe if you're elderly this would be an issue, otherwise the room was fine, comfy bed.Guest review byKellyAustralia

I recommend staying.
I recommend staying. I wrote a long review separately which I hope is useful; please refer to that. In addition, for young children, you can visit the sheep shed where they keep the sheep to see sheep up close, wander down and the up the hill behind reception, and get the best tasting soft serve ever from the restaurant!Guest review byDavinosJapan - 10.0

Lake Yamanaka is such a pretty place - Mt. Fuji never showed her face during our stay for the icon lake photos but it didn’t take away from the magic. The little town just 20 mins away by bus from our domes was super cute, filled with history, culture, and more shopping.Guest review byElizabethUnited States - 8.0

We really enjoyed the place, but it was a bit dead midweek. There were some tourists, but not very many. It was good to have a car to explore. Hokuto is a bit of an off-the-beaten-track destination, perfect for a weekend or even 3 or four days. Surrounded by beautiful nature, it's a great place for hikers - since it's located at the base of the Yatsugatake mountain range. The adventurers can go explore the hiking trails and waterfalls, but also there are charming cafes, art galleries and international cuisine restaurants splattered in the area. I would avoid going there by car on a Saturday morning, because the Chuo Express Road gets packed and it may take up to six hours to get there from Tokyo (the normal is 2 hours). So if you can, go on a weekday.Guest review byVillageOneJapan - 8.0

Automatic check-in & check-out process, good point for those who love automation. There is always staff supporting this step. Breakfast is disappointing, has limited options, no fresh fruits. Close to the station and good noise isolation.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Everything about Fujikawaguchiko is just perfect. Nice town, beautiful view of Mt Fuji. For an outdoor enthusiast, this town is perfect. It got mountains, nice enough for day hike. it got caves, lakes, old tunnel turn into a museum, ropeway, halal restaurant. I just love Fujikawaguchiko and its beauty.Guest review byZelaMalaysia - 10.0

We stayed for just one night to have the amazing view and cheaper hostel prices. One night in yamanakako, one night in kawaguchico, is perfect. Yamanakako is quieter and less touristy, which is exactly what we wanted. However, the bus schedule limits how many places you can go cuz they come every 1 hrGuest review byLiCanada - 10.0

If you are looking to escape from tourist areas and visit the country side of Japan? Then this place is it! There is hot springs everywhere and it is near Mt Fuji so tons of mountains around. Incredibly serene and quieter than areas like Hakone. ( Hakone is VERY beautiful but tons of tourist)Guest review byElianaUnited States
