The friendliest, coolest place on Earth. There are plenty of places to go, to visit, to do. More importantly, it is a great place to just BE! A visit to Luang Prabang for me would be incomplete without at least a couple of visits to Big Brother Mouse where tourists can meet and chat with locals - English speaking practice for them, cultural learning for visitors! Mandalao Elephant Sanctuary is a great place to visit. For bars, restauants: I recommend the Rainforest Bistro and Bar, Khaippen Training Restaurant, Alounvasath Bakery Restaurant, the barbecue restaurant oppositive Wat Visoun and the B82. I was working remotely while in Luang Prabang so six days was good as my time to explore was limited. If I had unlimited free time, I’d say that 3-4 days would be sufficient. Luang Prabang feels unspoiled and charming, very laid-back. The night market sells touristy goods but it was fun and there is no hard sell taking place.
