Everything was great! We were given the most luxurious room they had with a great view of the tea plantations and the city. The room was clean, cozy, hot water and good Wi-Fi. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I was bitten by a leech when I was walking around the plantations. I was immediately helped. Be sure to wear closed shoes if you are going to walk around the plantations.

we spent an amazing weekend at this place. The staff prepared a very nice room for us with decorations and fruits in honor of our honeymoon. The atmosphere in this place is amazing! Very beautiful estate with magnificent stylish renovation and interior. The chef is very cool, all the dishes were incredibly tasty. We wholeheartedly recommend this wonderful place!

The owner went above and beyond! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the hotel is in a lovely location. Some reviews have mentioned the road - it actually was easier than other roads we travelled on to get to other hotels in Sri Lanka - no problem at all for our driver 😊. The people hosting the guest house were definitely my highlight. Roshan, his wife and daughter were so friendly and helpful and always had a smile on their face! Roshan even dropped me at the railway station on the last day, which was super nice! The breakfast was very delicious and enough. The beds were super comfortable and the room very spacious. There is a shortcut to get into the city that‘s why the location of the guest house is also fine. Would definitely come back next time!

We had a truly wonderful stay at Croft Cottage! The property is a stunning British-style 3-storey villa, beautifully designed and immaculately maintained. The location is excellent, making it both peaceful and convenient. The cottage has lovely common areas that make it feel warm and inviting, perfect for relaxing together. A special mention and heartfelt thanks to Taranga, the housekeeper, who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable in every way. His attention to detail, hospitality, and genuine care made the experience exceptional — he truly elevated our time here. Overall, Croft Cottage is the perfect blend of charm, comfort, and luxury. Every aspect of this boutique, modern eco lodge was AMAZING! We stayed for a couple of days after Christmas and loved the festive feel, fire pits, and beautiful sunrise and sunsets. The buildings blend in with the landscape and interiors are stunning - recommend staying in Chalet Neru. The food was delicious and higher end and the fruit / veg grown onsite. Our kids loved the farm tour and homemade ice cream and jams. All staff were super friendly, professional and seemed genuinely happy to work there. Kitchen was accommodating with my allergy restrictions. I’d been concerned about insects before we arrived however only spotted a couple of stick insects outdoors during our trip. Everyone in our family wished we could have stayed at the property for at least one more night.

We stayed at this hotel for one night and it was perfect. The room was really cool, comfortable and had everything we needed. The restaurant was great and we really liked our breakfast. Two more great things which deserve a special mention are the garden and the tea factory. My girlfriend likes gardening while I’m not a fan and not even an amateur but it is so big and beautiful, you should see it. A tea factory is a great historical site where you can learn something new. We had a guide who told and showed us how tea is made. It is fascinating.

The hotel is situated on a hill overlooking 24 hectares of tea plantation, surrounded by luscious mountains. It is the perfect combination of peace and isolation amidst a breathtaking scenery. The hotel staff are very attentive to guests’ needs - be it booking car transfers or showing the best hike routes in the area. This place is a gem and we look forward to coming back.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff were so attentive and helpful. We were arriving in later than expected and they had food prepared for us. The breakfast was delicious. The location was perfect as well very close to everything. Couldn’t recommend the accommodation enough - really happy with the accommodation and again the staff were just so great.

Beautiful building in the heart of Nuwara Eliya. Even our guide was shocked as he hadn’t heard of this hotel. The rooms are beautiful and well equipped. There is a restaurant attached to the hotel and as a guest you will receive 50% discount from the menu prices. The portions are quite large and the service is excellent.

Such an amazing place. The gentlemen who runs the place will make you feel like home. Got there on a rainy day, they offered hot tea, all the information i needed for my trip to Sri Pada, and some great for meals. I would return anytime.

Besides doing the incredibly beautiful hike to Adams Peak, you can hire a tuktuk driver to guide you to Morey's Waterfall. the best waterfall we got to hike to in Sri lanka, challenging 1 hour hike but you'll get to stroll thru lush tea plantations and walk along side Lake Morey.

A nice area to do a lot of treks amongst the tea plantations . central location if you need to drive up to hill station of Nuwera Eliya or experience the wild life at Horton Plains, A lot of Hindu Kovils to explore in town of Hatton and Tea Factory experience at Dunkeld Tea Factory.

Maskeliya is a market town which could be lot more .The hilly terrain is a planners dream. I imagine the buildings painted pastal pink and yellow, flower pots hanging from the eves, it could be a destination rather than a quick stop to buy supplies on the way to elsewhere as is now.

If you are into budget travel and want a genuine local...

If you are into budget travel and want a genuine local experience, NanuOya is a good town to visit. It’s very close to the main tourist town Nuwara Eliya (approx 9km away) and has buses heading there every 20mins. You can also get there by train. The locals are very helpful and kind. You get a few places to eat food like South Indian dishes and koththu and a few places to buy liquor from. There are two waterfalls and the larger, wider one located inside the Glassough tea estate is a place where you can bathe in on a sunny day. It’s a lovely little town surrounded by tea estates!

Wonderful place to stay and good place to explore. We went to Lover's Leap Waterfalls, Gregory lake, Sita Temple, Hanuman Temple, Labookellie Tea Centre, Ambewela Farms, Victoria Park, Hakgala Botanical Gardens and Grand Hotel.

Do not climb on Saturdays as you will most probably not be...

Do not climb on Saturdays as you will most probably not be able to reach the top. It was over-crowded and the path is narrow the last 500 meters. Got stuck in one spot for 45 minutes and decided to turn around. Still got amazing views though and the experience of local pilgrimage which was a privilege!

Hatton is the second largest city in Nuwara Eliya District has so many places to visit.The Adams peak is the most venerated place in the area.Many reserviors and watterfalls can see in this area.Seven virgin mountains,Sri pada Forest can be explored during the stay.

Nuwara Eliya’s weather is quite different from most of Sri Lanka due to its high elevation. Unlike the tropical heat in the lowlands, it has a cool, misty, and unpredictable climate. Temperatures can drop below 10°C at night, and rain showers are common even during sunny days. Before traveling, it’s best to: Check the weather forecast for rain, fog, or sudden temperature drops. Pack warm clothing, as evenings and mornings can be chilly. Carry an umbrella or light raincoat, since showers are frequent. Plan outdoor activities (like visiting tea estates, Horton Plains, or Gregory Lake) for clearer parts of the day. “We visited on rainy days, which made it impossible to see the main attractions, as most of the time it was foggy.”
