The place is brand new. When we stayed they opened just a week before so everything was new, towels, sheets, etc. The bed is very comfortable and the breakfast was incredible! The host and his family are very friendly and welcoming and ready to help you in whatever you need. It’s also close to the entrance of Adam’s peak.

This was our third time in Nuwara Eliya, snd this time we were very lucky with the hotel. Firstly, it is located in a beautiful place on a mountain with a view of tea plantations, the city and a Buddhist monastery. You can see it without getting out of bed. Secondly, we had a very nice spacious room with a large balcony, kitchen and a comfortable bed. There was excellent hot water, which is especially important for Nuwara Eliya. Special thanks to host Alex and his staff for their hospitality, desire to help, delicious breakfasts and lunches. For my wife and me, this is the best hotel in Nuwara Eliya

    The Hotel is housed in a newly constructed 3 story purpose build building. To reach the hotel you have to drive on a road through Galway Forest. On reaching the hotel the hotel offered me welcome complimentary Pumpkin soup with some snack. There is no lift in the hotel but I requested for a high floor to enjoy the beautiful view from my room window. I opted for a room having windows on both sides. On one side view there was tea plantation on the other side there was mountain view. The room itself was very spacious with very nice bath room. The hotel lobby is nice and there is a billiard room on 1st floor. Before dinner the hotel offered us complimentary Papaya Juice in the hotel garden. I booked the hotel half board. The dinner offered was so delicious that I can call it the best food which I ate in Sri Lanka. It was severed in the most professional manner in different courses, having some starter, soup, salad, main course and fruit/sweet dish. Beds were very comfortable. Morning breakfast was also very good. The hotel garden is very beautiful we took many good photographs as our memory. I can safely recommend the hotel to all. Last but not the least, the hotel staff was very courteous and helpful. they guided me about the place very well.

    We had a wonderful experience at Hotel Glendower. From the start, the staff made us feel at home, especially Demunda, the concierge, who went above and beyond to help us throughout our stay. Demunda and the team were incredibly kind and attentive—they helped us communicate with a local car rental company, which made things so much easier. They also arranged amazing outings for us, including a tour of nearby tea plantations, a beautiful waterfall hike, and even a chance to go horse riding. One of the highlights was the Sri Lankan breakfast, which they cooked specially for us. It was absolutely delicious and made with such care—it really added a personal touch to our stay. Overall, the service was genuine and thoughtful. We’re so grateful for everything the staff did to make our visit special. Would definitely recommend Hotel Glendower to anyone visiting the area.

    Could not have had a better time at this property! Upon arrival, they knew I had injured my knee and Anthony (the personal trainer & pool attendant on staff) - helped me immensely! Offering his services twice a day for an hour each day. I can say I came out better than I arrived and really thank him for the help.     The Langdale is a slice of heaven. True old world charm, in the most beautiful old historic hotel where you feel as if you are a guest in someone's home. Small and understated. The view from the balcony room is unforgettable. A place to enjoy a good cup of tea, looking at the tea plantations that surround you. And you can also see the historic Radella cricket ground from the hotel. My only regret is that I had to come alone on this trip, so couldn't enjoy the beautiful lawn tennis court.

    Besides doing the incredibly beautiful hike to Adams Peak, you can hire a tuktuk driver to guide you to Morey's Waterfall. the best waterfall we got to hike to in Sri lanka, challenging 1 hour hike but you'll get to stroll thru lush tea plantations and walk along side Lake Morey.

    Maskeliya is a market town which could be lot more .The hilly terrain is a planners dream. I imagine the buildings painted pastal pink and yellow, flower pots hanging from the eves, it could be a destination rather than a quick stop to buy supplies on the way to elsewhere as is now.

    If you are into budget travel and want a genuine local experience, NanuOya is a good town to visit. It’s very close to the main tourist town Nuwara Eliya (approx 9km away) and has buses heading there every 20mins. You can also get there by train. The locals are very helpful and kind. You get a few places to eat food like South Indian dishes and koththu and a few places to buy liquor from. There are two waterfalls and the larger, wider one located inside the Glassough tea estate is a place where you can bathe in on a sunny day. It’s a lovely little town surrounded by tea estates!

Pack warm clothing, as evenings and mornings can be chilly. Carry an umbrella or light raincoat, since showers are frequent. Plan outdoor activities (like visiting tea estates, Horton Plains, or Gregory Lake) for clearer parts of the day. “We visited on rainy days, which made it impossible to see the main attractions, as most of the time it was foggy.”

    Do not climb on Saturdays as you will most probably not be...

    Do not climb on Saturdays as you will most probably not be able to reach the top. It was over-crowded and the path is narrow the last 500 meters. Got stuck in one spot for 45 minutes and decided to turn around. Still got amazing views though and the experience of local pilgrimage which was a privilege!

    Hatton is the second largest city in Nuwara Eliya District has so many places to visit.The Adams peak is the most venerated place in the area.Many reserviors and watterfalls can see in this area.Seven virgin mountains,Sri pada Forest can be explored during the stay.
