The staff is amazing, they are caring, they do everything for you to feel good and have the best experience. They spot every detail for you.
The chef deserves a micheline star. The food experience was delicious.
It is the perfect place to recharge.

United KingdomWe spent three nights at Sunrise Pasikuda and it was perfect. The hotel is immaculate and our room (we had a family suite) was spacious and comfortable with a huge bathroom and two toilets, and a big balcony. We loved the little extras like the fruit plate and flowers on the bed.
The location is great. The hotel has a huge pool which leads down to the hotel beach which is clean and quiet with a beach bar. You can do water sports and we did a boat trip that took us to local reefs with excellent snorkelling.
We had all our meals here and I can’t fault the food. Breakfast and dinner are buffets with wide choice and there was entertainment every evening. We liked playing pool although the pool cues need an update.
What made our stay so special was the staff at the hotel. They are so warm and welcoming and just want you to have a great time. We will definitely return.

Excellent restaurant with friendly, professional staff and tasty food of good sized portions. Recommend the chicken biriyani! The pool was great and kept our kids entertained for hours. Overall just great customer care especially by Adhil the Resort Manager who did everything possible to make our stay enjoyable. So if you need a relaxing break, highly recommend Rivera Resort!! 👌

We had a beachfront villa which we loved. The outdoor shower is so cool and it was amazing to open the curtains each morning and walk straight onto the beach! You are assigned a personal butler for the duration of the stay and you can contact them via WhatsApp at any time and for any request. A special shoutout to Malshan here! He was so professional and very responsive to all our requests. The pool is amazing - it is huge and there are shelves on the sides you can sit and lounge in to cool down! There are books, balls, volleyball and Pétanque around here to enjoy during the day! 😊 We chose to do the destination dining and the outdoor cinema add ons during our stay and just wow. All the food was sensational throughout our stay! I recommend French toast for breakfast and butter chicken for dinner!!! There are local fishermen who work on the beach, pulling in their nets and dealing with their catch, this was a very unique thing to experience! (September 2024) The hotel rooms were modern and spacious, providing a comfortable stay. They also have a dedicated water sports section that offered exciting Jet Ski rides and a snorkeling trip to the nearby "Kayankerni" Coral Reef for a reasonable additional cost. Snorkeling was an amazing first-time experience for both my wife and me, and it was impressive that even some 5-star hotels do not have a water sports center like this one. The hotel features a large swimming pool with a depth of 9 feet at one end, perfect for a refreshing swim. The location is ideal, with no stones or corals that could hurt your feet while enjoying the beach. From the first moment to the end we were looked after by the friendly staff, especially Rishopana and Kanogitha. We booked this resort for a room with direct access to the pool and we were lucky to get perhaps the nicest room. But what makes this resort special is the people who work here. We also spoke with the friendly beach/pool attendant S. and likewise the waiters and cooks at breakfast and dinner did everything they could to make the guests happy. Excellent Sri Lankan breakfast and dinner. My husband was delighted that the waiters here could spin a beer with a foam cap. The room was very nice and clean. The pool was cleaned regularly too. Kalkudah is one of the best beaches in Sri Lanka! The water here has an amazing emerald colour and it is very clean, transparent. It is a very long and beautiful sandy beach with a free natural spirit, with hardly anyone around. We enjoyed swimming almost all the day! No tourist attractions but some restaurants like Laya Waves are and Swiss Cafe on the shore are the options. Kalkudah works fine for yoga, meditation, walking along, etc. There are some cows and their manure in some spots, but it is better than plastic garbage. Some days the waves were bigger than Passikuda, but no corals on Kalkudah. Comparing to Passikuda we liked Kalkudah much better. Passikuda is over crowded with a long chain of luxury hotels and is not as beautiful. Anyway if anyone is coming with children Passikuda has shallow waters, as well as some tourists attractions. I think the main reason to go to Pasikuda is for the beach which is beautiful, with white sand and clear water, and where it is safe to swim.
