From the entrance with Mr. Sivaraj to reception beautifu lady and going to the room it was exceeded expection, the smell of cleanness was everywhere and the food was perfect ( the guys in the restaurant they help me to find z best way how to try Sri lanka food which was the best ,i highly recommend the spa was also perfect. More than a hotel in a quiet and beautiful green part of Kandy. This place is owned by an Ayurvedic doctor who is one of the nicest man whom we met. I got a flower bouquet as a welcome present. The building is very nice, newly built and tasteful. Rooms are like King's suites. Super clean and comfortable huge rooms and beds with beautiful furniture, living area and TV, loud speakers. The bathroom has shower and bath tub too with (always) hot water! A huge private well equipped kitchen is also part of the room. Everywhere the highest level of cleanness and hospitality. The rooftop restaurant and pool area is also super clean and beautiful, tranquil.breathtaking view too the local hillside. The staff are amazing and extremely helpful. The whole place is a magic, it has a calm, heartwarming atmosphere. If someone have more time definitely spend 3-5 days here and have ayurvedic treatments/massages. We will take us unforgettable memories of this place and the people who work here. We had beautiful ayurvedic massage at the owner's place very close to the hotel. Experienced and qualified therapists works for this place. Thank you Dr. Nawarathna, and Charuka who served us and supported us all time and all the staff members this heartwarming experience!

The staff was caring and really listened. The showers were warm, and the view was perfect.we liked the fact that it was 2km away from downtown Kandy. The sri lankan breakfast was good as well. The pool looked good, but we didn't try it.

I loved everything about the property. The staff were very attentive and helpful. The owner was so lovely. We had some great chats! The whole place was bright white spotless and smelt beautiful. Our room had panoramic full glass views looking over Kandy. The bed was very comfortable and the shower brilliant. Over all a fantastic stay.

The hotel is really lovely especailly if you appreciate historic architecture, the location is perfect, the staff were amazing and the room was clean and comfy. The shower might be the best I've ever had, great water pressure and temps. Having a fan on the balcony/terrace outside was a really nice touch. The wifi was great most of the time and only a few times toward the later evening did it go slow briefly, a mix of storms and lots of users I think. When we checked in, our first room had a problem with AC, we called reception, and they sent an engineer immediately to fix it but rather than make us wait, they gave us a free room upgrade. The lake in front of the hotel is teeming with wildlife and makes for a really nice walk.

We have already been to Swiss Residence in 2020, before covid-19. In comparison with that time the hotel has got a little beat-up, because the upstairs restaurant with a beautiful view is not functioning, the pool seems like it is not used very often, and so on. But the staff of Swiss Residence is still very high-professional! Receptionists, cleaners, waiters, movers were extremely delicate and helpful, it was a very high-level. This team made our stay quite comfortable, so thank them a lot! If I was a manager of the Hotel I would appreciate this guys. so, 4/5 facilities 10/5 staff I wish the hotel more guests in 2023 and I hope Covid-19 will never return to this place!

We loved this place! It almost felt like time had been turned back to an era a very long time ago. A beautiful, proud hotel with stately staircases, a great pool, great bar and music and lovely staff and breakfast. We would love to recommend this to other travellers. Its a bit like a cultural/historical experience in a fun way :-) Just lovely!

Excellent location Need road leading to the htl be renovated. Breakfast can be improved including table arrangements and background soft music to add serene values. Food was so good and tasty Staff were superb and much caring and friendly with professional approach. Nice and wonderful place to be.

The hotel is by the river and was a perfect getaway for me and my wife. The room was spacious and well cleaned. For dinner we had to join the in-house buffet wanting to experience the beautiful garden seating. The staff was absolutely friendly and would highly recommend the stay here

People advised us to have 2 days in Kandy - we would have...

People advised us to have 2 days in Kandy - we would have been fine with just one. The weather did not help us it rained on and off the entire time we were there. Temple of the Sacred Tooth - tick - walk around the Botanical gardens - tick - Shopping DISMAL - Kandyan dance performance extremely touristy. I wish we had allocated an extra day for the hill country instead of Kandy, Best meal we had was at the Hideaway Lounge. Central market - awful fresh food and spices but seriously hideous tourist souvenirs. Old building needs renovation.

We lived here as children.

We lived here as children. Our father taught at Zahira College. We had contacted them and they received is kindly and showed us around. We found the house where we lived and the lady there was very friendly. Our father's friend's son and daughter gave us lunch at their resort. All that was great.

We had a fantastic stay at Symphony Homes during our visit to Kandy. The villa looks exactly like the photos — modern, very clean, spacious, and beautifully maintained. The peaceful location was perfect, yet only a short drive to Kandy city and major attractions. The private garden was lovely to relax in, and the fully equipped kitchen made our stay even more comfortable. The host was extremely friendly and helpful, always quick to respond and made sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommended for families, couples, or anyone looking for a peaceful private villa in Kandy!

Probably the best place we stayed in Sri Lanka. Only minus could be a lack of internet connection in the cotttage, but, really, who cares for wi fi in such scenery, and it is available in public area.

Kandy is an interesting historic city, with a number of must...

Kandy is an interesting historic city, with a number of must see sights - the Temple of The tooth, a walk around the lake, the Big Buddha. Peradeniya Botanical Gardens are just on the edge of the city. The market is bustling. If you are there in late July/early August you may catch the Perahera Festival - a parade of dressed elephants, fire whirlers, Kandy Dancers, Drummers and whip crackers.

It was a visit to Ride Viharaya, and All Viharaya

It was a visit to Ride Viharaya, and All Viharaya Rock temples in Central Sri Lanka. We did not stay long to visit All Lena (there Place where Thiptaka was originally written on Ola leaves) and Nalanda Gedige (Geographical centre of Sri Lanka)

The city centre is very polluted but there is a lot to see and it is worth exploring. I highly recommend taking a tuk tuk tour to visit the sights. We had an adventurous day out with Explore Kandy with Sajith Tuk Tuk Tours.
