This was our best stay in Sri Lanka so far. Very attentive staff, rooms are new, huge, comfy and clean. During our stay, we decided to stay longer as we really liked it there. The bathroom is new and also there is a hot water which I consider as a huge plus. The design of the place is great, the garden is well maintained. The service is perfect and they even try to improve it. Breakfasts are local and very delicious, every day we ate something new. We are 100% recommending this place as it was very pleasant. Everything was perfect, no complaints :)

The place is new, clean and tidy. The bedrooms are big and well equipped. Only 200 m from the beach. We really enjoyed staying there. Rajeevan took care of us very kindly and efficiently. Air con was working g very well. Breakfast was continental style, but good. Everything met our expectations.

We were their first guests. The staff is super friendly and they always wanted to help us with arranging a snorkeling tour or other plans. The rooms are very clean and the bathroom too ! They have a very nice balcony for chilling that they will convert to a dining area later. I would definitely recommend this place !!

Overall, it was a fantastic experience. The hotel offered different breakfast options, the rooms were spacious, the environment was quiet, and the swimming pool was clean. The service was attentive, and when there was a power outage one evening, the staff quickly resolved the issue. Highly recommend!

During our Sri Lanka vacation, we stayed at the Amaranthe Bay Resort for the last two nights. The Junior Suite we booked was spacious and elegant, with the highlight being the Jacuzzi Bath – a perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploration. Adding to its charm, the balcony offered a breathtaking panorama of the surrounding nature, and we were fortunate to witness stunning sunsets over the nearby lake, creating unforgettable memories. Although the resort's large inviting pool was enjoyable, some sharp corners around the area caused minor inconveniences and led to an unfortunate toe injury. Nevertheless, our overall experience remained highly enjoyable. The hotel's convenient location allowed easy access to the ocean and beach, where we found several delightful restaurants for lunch or dinner. Inside the resort, we had the pleasure of dining at their lovely restaurant, offering reasonable prices and a varied, tasty breakfast. The staff was friendly and attentive, and while there was a minor disagreement about the exchange rate during payment, the managers handled the situation with professionalism, swiftly resolving any issues and leaving us with a positive impression of their commitment to guest satisfaction. Amaranthe Bay Resort's well-maintained and peaceful ambiance made our stay perfect. We loved the location - only a couple of hundred meters from the stunning Niavelli beach. The staff were all super friendly. Outside, our room had 2 wooden deck chairs for us to enjoy and inside the room we had a fridge. Unfortunately for us, we were only staying the 1 night here, if we had more time we would have loved to stay longer. It seemed like they had body boards and bikes for guests to borrow (although we didn't ask to use them) and had a hammock in a shady spot in the well looked after garden area that separates the restaurant from the accommodation area.

We had a great time at the Nilaveli beach resort. The staff was really very nice. What is not said is that, on the beach, next to the resort, there is an exceptionnal spectacle every day: traditionnal fishing. Fishermen bring an enormous net with a boat, about 1 km away from the shore. The net is linked with 2 long ropes that 20 people pull up from the beach for about 2 hours. Estonishing to discover how many fishes they bring that way in their net!

This location was absolutely beautiful.

This location was absolutely beautiful. There's lots to see and do and 3 nights wasn't enough to fully enjoy the setting. Yes you can spend time at the beach and go snorkeling, but you can also visit the Thiruskoneswaram temple and eat delicious food on Sarvodaya Road. We highly recommend Rice 'n' Curry Restaurant. As well as The White House for Accommodation and Rangan Snorkeling

I liked the small hotel we stayed in on the beach front (Mithra Paradise) and the semi-private beach. A real gem if you're looking for a quiet romantic place. Much better than the big faceless commercial hotels. I would recomemmend the small guest houses in the whole of SL for this reason as the service is exceptional and they are usually family-run so they put a lot of love and effort into pleasing their guests. No mosquitoes in July. Avoid the dolphin watching 'chasing' tours. Loads of boats making a big noise and running over the dolphins. Poor animals. You only glimpse them for a few seconds and the boat ride is hell on your back. Try the snorkelling instead.

Trincomalee is a beautiful beach town, the beaches are amazing, lots of cultural things to do if you want, as well as lots of relaxation. Some great restaurants on the beach and in the town. The only draw back is it takes quite along time to get to (depending on where you are coming from) but that is the same across most of Sri Lanka

We absolutely love this area, by far one of the best places...

We absolutely love this area, by far one of the best places in Sri Lanka. After travelling around the island, we decided just to completely chill and not check out the other beaches. We will definitely go back again and check out a few of the other beaches along that coastline. Food is fantastic and the people are very friendly! When we read up about the island, they said that this was the less developed area, but as far as I could see it was the same as most other places. Definitely has everything you need and one of the best places to completely unwind.

A much more peaceful beach holiday that at neighbouring Uppaveli, so if you want to get away from the crowds, it’s a perfect spot. The surrounding countryside looks beautiful too - I wish we’d have had more time to explore. We ate at Sara’s fish restaurant, where the seafood kottu & prawn curry were delicious.
