We had the most amazing time at Leel’s Safari cottage! The room was perfect—super clean, beautifully designed, with air conditioning and a hot water. You can really tell how much effort they put into making everything just right. It felt so cozy and welcoming. The garden outside was lovely—well-kept, peaceful, and such a nice place to relax. And the food… wow! The meals cooked by Leel’s mom and his wife were the best we’ve had in Sri Lanka. Everything was so fresh and delicious. Thank you both for making every meal so special! We also did the sunrise safari with Leel, and it was incredible🌅 He’s so professional and knows the park so good. He explained everything so calmly and made sure we didn’t miss anything. It was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Thank you so much, Leel, for an unforgettable stay. We’ll always remember it, and we’re so happy we got to meet you. 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻 If you’re thinking of coming here—don’t think twice. Highly recommended!❤️

This place was absolutely amazing! The location couldn’t have been better. Right by the Safari entrance, and within minutes of arriving, we saw an elephant just across the road. It was such a cool experience. The facilities were top-notch and really well maintained. The pool was actually the perfect temperature, which is rare for hotels since they’re usually too cold. There’s also a restaurant on-site with a great selection of food. We highly recommend the Kothu! Plus, there’s a convenience store right next door in case you need any extra supplies. The rooms were beautiful with modern bathrooms, great hot water, and a lovely balcony view where we got to watch the sunset. What really made our stay special was the staff. The manager went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of, treating us like VIPs. The rest of the staff was just as helpful and friendly. Highly recommend this place if you’re visiting the area. We’d love to come back!

The wooden cabins are deep in nature and , you will sleep cradled by the sounds of the forest around you. The food was so tasty and all the activities well organized. The guide that drew us into the National Park has been very kind and helpful in showing us a lot of animals hidden into the trees and bushes. Such a wonderful experience, definitively recommended.

The host family is so lovely, and they look after you and organize everything you may need. I really recomend taking the safari tour with the host and trying their amazing home made dinner and breakfast. The welcome passion fruit juice was just cherry on top. The room was clean, spacious and quiet. We also received taxi service for fair price to our next location. Really thankful for the whole experience and taking such good care of us!!! Fully recharged!! :)

    The place is totally lovey, nicely decorated, well maintained, spacious rooms, the shower is just supercool. The place is at a nice quiet area but close to everything. We had some difficulty on our way and arrived after check-in hours. We managed to call the owner and he was soo helpful, they even put aside a superb dinner even we arrived after the the kitchen was closed. The staff and the manager were also very friendly and helpful. We would certainly will come back to this place when around. Totally recommended. We went on a safari arranged by the hotel, the pricing was good and the cars were in great condition. We went on 3 hours and that was good for us. (tip: ask a car with armholders at the seats - we happened to have one and just realized how comfy it comes at bumpy roads in the park :)) Wish we could stay longer.

    The property is gorgeous and very natural. There are no eye-sores, everything is very blended with nature. The two swimming pools were really lovely and the restaurant buffet dinners were delicious. The best part was the general manager who went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay. He engaged with our kids and made sure they stayed busy with basketball, volleyball, arranged a village walk across the river, and made special arrangements on our safari to celebrate my son's birthday. He was like a traditional hotel general manager who treats everybody like his personal guest. It's a really special place and definitely a great base for visiting both Udawalawe and Yala parks.

    We had a wonderful stay at Kalus Hideaway Udawalawe. The food was delicious, and the staff were exceptionally well-trained, attentive, and friendly. The rooms, while slightly dated, were spacious, functional, and well-equipped. We enjoyed the beautiful gardens, especially the butterfly garden, which was a delight to explore. The on-site restaurant had a lovely atmosphere, and our excursion to Udawalawe National Park was a highlight of the trip. Overall, a relaxing and memorable experience — highly recommended.

    The room was spacious, with shower and toilet in an open area, you could really enjoy the nature 😀. The pool was clean, and the place wasn't crowded. We could see the staff taking care of the resort on a daily basis. The food was nice. We got on a safari organized by them, which was also fine. W went for half day 3.30 hrs, and it was more than enough to see all the spices. It is very close to the village where you can walk and find nice restaurants and bars, alongside some really cheap shops.

    Absolutely wonderful!! The food, the grounds and the staff were all way above expectation. It was the best food we had in Sri Lanka. We felt really lucky to be able to stay and didn’t want to leave. We also booked two safaris through the hotel both were awesome the driver they arranged went above and beyond to make sure we saw all the animals we could.

    Camping along the river was very appealing. The very strong rains made using the river impossible and it was quite damp for tenting, but that was not the fault of the proprietors. They arranged safari vehicles and guides and gave us very good advice about the length of the safari that would be best for our group.

    Very friendly staff gave a warm welcome. The welcome coffee was the best time of my life. Not only that, I was surprised because the pool was so clean and beautiful.     This place is one of my favorites in Sri Lanka! It was such a beautiful surprise! Calm area, very nice outdoor setting, the room was very spacious (as was the bathroom!) So let's talk details: - Food: Amazing! Home cooked food, with candlelight and the sounds of nature! - Safari: He was a very good company during my trip! He gave me some tips, was very flexible with my requests. - Helpfulness: Arranged a taxi to my next destination, Overall, it was totally worth it, you will really enjoy it! !

    Where to start... We had a wonderful stay! Our host Ravidu is a very kind man, he welcomed me and my girlfriend into his family. We will forever be grateful for the special memories created there. His wife cooked us delicious traditional Sri Lankan food at night. Thank you very much ☺️ The bed is extremely comfortable and the room is spacious and very clean. It was nice to have a place to hang out on the terrace. There are many beautiful plants around the property that give it a jungle feel. We saw many tropical birds around. I 100% recommend booking a safari through Ravidu, he partners with a guide with many years of experience. The safari guide was knowledgeable about the animals and different species we saw on the safari. He was very respectful of the wildlife and drove slowly through the park unlike other jeeps..!!
