The Old Liepaja is a gem boasting old and Jugend architecture. The city offers many music events on its numerous sites. There are also many catering options in different budget ranges. You can just walk around or travel by car; parking rates are extremely low in the city centre. The most exciting experience was visiting local churches and the underground art gallery near to Rožu laukums. There is spa available for day pass £25 for adult for 2.5 hours in Jurmala Spa hotel. No need to book in, walk in welcome. Excellent facilities and kids friendly lots to do. I went twice wile on my trip. Lots of lovely restaurants, bubs and shops to explore for all liking. We visited off season so it was nice and quiet with only a few guests in our hotel and Cape Kolka, nature trails, etc were not busy Since it is off season, it was difficult to get dinner as most restaurants and pubs were closed. Have been there probably 5 times, different properties and not always staying the night, sometimes just for a walk, sometimes for lunch, sometimes for the beach or for forest walk. Lilaste is for those who appreciate nature and don't want the pretentious wannabe posh style of Jurmala, but instead just to relax and feel nature and tranquility around you. They have to update information on Booking.com. Check-in in fact is until 17.00 not 21.00, check-out time is incorrect (there is no one in the morning) I arrived at 19.00 and had to leave early around 8.00, there was no one at the registration desk), no info on Wi-Fi access, no breakfast, that was included in price, and, in general, very poor communication with staff by phone. Ventspils - city by the sea, which has Blue flag beach. It is not very crowded even in hot summer days. It is Baltic sea, it can be cold even in summer, it depends on the weather. But there are very nice sandy beaches. The city Ventspils - cozy city with many flowers, many parks for kids to play or just walk in the nature for anybody. Open air waterpark for kids.
