The Old Liepaja is a gem boasting old and Jugend architecture. The city offers many music events on its numerous sites. There are also many catering options in different budget ranges. You can just walk around or travel by car; parking rates are extremely low in the city centre. The most exciting experience was visiting local churches and the underground art gallery near to Rožu laukums. We visited off season so it was nice and quiet with only a few guests in our hotel and Cape Kolka, nature trails, etc were not busy Since it is off season, it was difficult to get dinner as most restaurants and pubs were closed. They have to update information on Booking.com. Check-in in fact is until 17.00 not 21.00, check-out time is incorrect (there is no one in the morning) I arrived at 19.00 and had to leave early around 8.00, there was no one at the registration desk), no info on Wi-Fi access, no breakfast, that was included in price, and, in general, very poor communication with staff by phone. Ventspils - city by the sea, which has Blue flag beach. It is not very crowded even in hot summer days. It is Baltic sea, it can be cold even in summer, it depends on the weather. But there are very nice sandy beaches. The city Ventspils - cozy city with many flowers, many parks for kids to play or just walk in the nature for anybody. Open air waterpark for kids. We celebrated my husband’s birthday in Kuldiga. Most restaurants close at 8 pm we only found one that stayed open until later. The best time for introverts to stay in Pāvilosta is the beginning of September. That time families with children usually come back home and the village including beaches becomes almost empty.
