I love the breakfast spread and the bonus is that all the servers and chefs are so cheerful when prepping the food and offering the options to you. All the staff were super helpful and very accommodating even for last minute requests. For me, I had pre-informed the hotel of my partner's birthday and they went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make it extra special. They prepared snacks on the house on day 1 for us. On his actual birthday, they decorated the room nicely, and even gave us a very nice looking and tasty cake with everyone saying happy birthday to the birthday boy! it was such a fantastic surprise even to me! I truly appreciate how caring they were and most of which was by their own discretion which relieved me from a lot of pressure and stress. We stayed for two nights during our motorcycle trip around Marocco and Western Sahara. The stay was intended to load our internal baterries and have some rest after tiresome desert riding. There are two things I do not understand: why the hotel is not 5 star and why there are some opinions here on booking that are not "10". The staff, facilities and service are flawless. The food & drinks choice and quality is also very good. We booked two standard rooms and altghough I travel a lot I do not remember having such a big and well decorated rooms in any of the 5 star hotels I stayed in. The Riad Caravene is fantastic in every way.
The Riad Caravene is fantastic in every way. The riad looks like something from House Beautiful with beautiful spaces and lovely art. The rooms are gorgeous, the common spaces lovely. Particularly nice are the two terraces near and at the top of the riad, with great views in all directions and lovely furnishings. The small pool and deck on the ground floor also were lovely and a perfect spot after walking around the ksar. The staff were wonderfully helpful and the food outstanding. You really don't need to stop here and stay over...
You really don't need to stop here and stay over... The todra gorge is beautiful to see, but you could drive up to it and out again. I recommend stopping at Family el Mabrouk restaurant on your way into the gorge for a truly authentic experience. They are so full of energy. They'll dress you up in traditional wear and take photo's for you. They even took me with to the Souk in town. Highly recommend.Guest review byFischerFrance - 6.0

There are some great surf spots within a short drive and good value restaurants. Beyond this, there is not much to do. The neighboured seems safe though is a little dirty. There are some very friendly locals though it feels like most just want to make money out of you rather than have a genuine interaction. Interesting town with souks and a historical setting where Ali Baba the original film was shot . A local man attached himself to us and ended up giving an informal guided tour. The restaurant we had a lunch was tasty and not expensive. We had a sunset tour on the camel organized from the Oases Tiloqui luxury Hotel, and it was great. From Zagora is 75 minutes by car to reach the location where you can also spend a night in the tents, that it can be quiet unique. We stay only for dinner after the camel tour. Easy and cheap to get to via shared taxi from Agadir. A sleepy, friendly town with an assortment of cafés, restaurants, grocery shops, butchers, bakeries and a weekly food market incl. fresh fish every Monday.
