United StatesOur stay at Riad Benyara was wonderful. We had the area off the staircase to the pool which was its own private suite with a hallway which connected the small bedroom and the bathroom. The room and bathroom were clean. The pool and terrace were a lovely place to escape the hot Taroudant afternoons. The location is just off a main road so it was quiet throughout the day. It's conveniently located to walk throughout town to shops, restaurants, and souks. The staff were friendly and even did laundry for us during our stay. Breakfast was good, very heavy on bread items, which seems to be common for Moroccan breakfasts, so be prepared for that. All in all this was a great location to spend several days in Taroudant.

It was clean enough, but not by Western standards. Breakfast was typical Moroccan: simple, tasty, and filling. They helped me park my bike in the courtyard.

The Algerian owners of Dar Zaria have created a special ambiance for their riad. Both open and covered areas lie adjacent to a three floor open garden space with trees which reach right to the top. Add to this a huge diversity of flowering vines and varied vegetation. Spaces are delightfully filled with a collection of artesian. Our suite was commodious, tastefully decorated and well lit. The rolled bath was attractive. The staff was attentive; our meals were well prepared and tasty. We could not have asked for a better experience.

We loved our stay at Palais Omensour, all the staff is so friendly and food was delicious. The property is very beautiful, clean and very comfortable to stay. We also got a chance to meet the owners as they were visting at the time and they are so nice and everyone made sure our stay was comfortable. Cant recommend this property enough, thanks to all the staff.

Food was not important for me, I m trying to buy food by myself. It was possible even if not the close, including perfect and cheep tea. Sunrises and sunsets from room or from roof were magic! every day with peace and harmony. River and natural vegetation were very important including two ruins on oposite river side, which are possible to reach by foot.

Villa talaa is a wonderful place clean tidy and authentic. The rooms are confy, and clean. But what makes this place even more special and wonderful is mohamed ali and his team, he is such a warming welcoming, and professional manager. He makes you feel at home.

Beautiful hotel with sublime gardens. It really feels like walking into an oasis. The staff was super friendly and hotel very nicely decorated with traditional yet elevated style. Really lovely stay and probably best in Taroudant.

Even though I had not booked dinner and it was late when I arrived, the host provided an excellent meal. The breakfast was the best I’ve had in Morocco. Nice bed, linens and shower with ample hot water.

We loved Taroudant, particularly the people who are so...
We loved Taroudant, particularly the people who are so friendly! The wall surrounding the city is most impressive! I was expecting an older city however it all seems quite modern, to my eyes anyway. There are plenty of places to eat, just be aware that it is a predominantly alcohol free area, with only a couple of the more expensive places on the outskirts of the city selling wine etc. Unfortunately the local Berber souk had a big fire on our first day there so it was closed. The artisan souk was fab however you do have a bit of hassle at times but not excessive. It sold everything from leather work to jewellery, clothing, spices, and a lot of antique bits. Bartering is expected and necessary as a lot of prices, which you have to ask, are inflated so do your homework first if you want to buy anything.
We took an hours horse and carriage ride around the city which was well worth it. Check the horses carefully first though as some are better cared for than others. Taroudant is more of a stopover place than a holiday destination and could probably be covered in two full days. That said we were there for four days and had a wonderful relaxing time, mostly sitting in the square, sipping fresh mint tea and watching the world go by.

The kasbah is simply an absolutely beautiful place where you become immersed into the culture. Very genuine hospitality met us the minute we came through the gate and it did not take long to be welcomed with hot tea and enjoy.

The Host at the hotel was exceptional.
The Host at the hotel was exceptional. We couldn’t speak his language nor us, his, but he managed to show us how the property was before it was renovated. It is a stunning place to stay and I would highly recommend it.

The oasis is nice and you get to know how the local people...
The oasis is nice and you get to know how the local people live. Apart from wandring round there isn't much to do, but the place has its unique atmosphere which is worth experiencing. Getting there is an adventure though as the road is better suited for 4x4 cars, however we managed to get there with our rented car which wasn't 4x4 without any issues (Dacia Logan). The host is friendly and the food was nice.

We expect that the lack of a heartfelt welcome and magnanimous warmth and generosity was absent as the staff were home alone with the owner elsewhere!
We were shuffled to our cold bedrooms and it was lights out!
In the morning the expected wonderful breakfast it didn't materialise and was served 20 minutes late despite the owner informing us by email to expect it at 8:30. What was offered was a cheap white bead 'stick', some bought jams and watery coffee. 3 bananas.

Interesting town with souks and a historical setting where Ali Baba the original film was shot .
A local man attached himself to us and ended up giving an informal guided tour. The restaurant we had a lunch was tasty and not expensive. We missed a horse candle cart tour offered at our hotel which would have been better use of our time and visit.
