We were fortunate enough to get a room facing the sea. It was superb with it's balcony, two chairs and a table. It made for a wonderful shared time as we celebrated our X5th anniversary. The room was a decent size with a mini bar refrigerator. The hotel is fairly new and looks nice. It has a good restaurant and we liked the breakfast buffet while seated with a view of the Adriatic Sea. We felt comfortable and enjoyed the relaxed feeling. If you were in Nice or Miami you'd be paying 2-3 times the price. Although Bar is a nice place to stay, in my opinion it's a child friendly vacation on the beach without much stimulus. If you think you are heading to a cheap Ibiza you would be mistaken. One great surprise is that we found several good restaurants that were very good value. Making one of the joys of Bar is searching them out. The hotel has a nice sized pool with many lounge chairs and umbrellas. A little kitchenette stocked with all the kitchen ware and utensils you could need. bring your own spices, oil etc. We got lost due to our gps not working. Gleb came and met us and took us to the apartment. He showed us how to work everything, and had his mom bring up extra pillows and towels for us. I read in previous reviews that he will take you on a tour around the area. We booked him for a tour and he took us around for the whole day showing us so many cool places to go check out in more detail in the future. It’s a great bonus to your stay here. I'm afraid my impression of Bar was that it was industrial, a bit ugly and not very well looked after.(Sorry Bar, maybe I didn't go to the right places!) Wanting to visit places that are not yet wholly given over to tourism, is a two edged sword; it means that the 'pretty views' are often obscured by something utilitarian and not pretty! I took a taxi boat to Sutomore beach, which was a lovely trip and incredibly good value. The beach and water was fabulous but I think every person in the whole of Montenegro had had the same idea and the beach was extremely crowded. My reason for visiting Bar was to do the train journey from Bar to Belgrade, which I had read was one of the most beautiful in Europe. The coast is beautiful and perfect for swimming, snorkeling and sunsets. We liked the fact you could walk all the way from our apartment to the town. It is a small village and a big part of it is touristic.
It is a small village and a big part of it is touristic. The upper village parts are local and look nicer. The beach is okay, and it is possible to be there without renting chairs by buying a big umbrella in one of the shops. Šušanj is on the coast, you will have a good view from the terraces of most houses. The beach is long with several rows of beautiful pine trees 10-15 meters from the sea along the entire length of the beach, this creates beautiful natural shadows, the beach is good, in some parts with finer sand or smaller stones, the only anomaly for some may be that there are large stones in the sea. Sutomore is a very friendly little seaside bay, lined with shops and restaurants, all reasonably priced. What food produce you cannot get from the smaller seafront shops you will find in the bigger shops along the main road that you arrived via. Everyone seems to speak perfect English and everyone was super friendly. The little seafront road can be chaotic and with no dedicated footpath you need to be careful. The bay itself is beautiful with limestone mountains behind you and clear blue water in front of you. Together with two castles you can freely visit and with also the possibility to get to a lake tour within minutes, if you use the tunnel, or take the mountain route road and see fantastic panoramas of both sides of the mountain range, and with snow capped Albanian mountains along the horizon - the place is a dream come true.Guest review byJohnHungary - 10.0

It is a small village I can say, just built for tourism. A nice little walk every evening, with several good restaurants for you to enjoy a decent meal at a fair price. For me personally it is better to have BB instead of a hal- or full-board because of these little restaurants or taverns where you can find a really good bite.
