We were fortunate enough to get a room facing the sea. It was superb with it's balcony, two chairs and a table. It made for a wonderful shared time as we celebrated our X5th anniversary. The room was a decent size with a mini bar refrigerator. The hotel is fairly new and looks nice. It has a good restaurant and we liked the breakfast buffet while seated with a view of the Adriatic Sea. We felt comfortable and enjoyed the relaxed feeling. If you were in Nice or Miami you'd be paying 2-3 times the price. Although Bar is a nice place to stay, in my opinion it's a child friendly vacation on the beach without much stimulus. If you think you are heading to a cheap Ibiza you would be mistaken. One great surprise is that we found several good restaurants that were very good value. Making one of the joys of Bar is searching them out. The hotel has a nice sized pool with many lounge chairs and umbrellas. Really liked the small old town in Budva.
Really liked the small old town in Budva. It doesn't get too many tourists ( like Kotor) so is less crowded and more tranquil. I didn't like the fact you had to pay to walk along a part of the walled town. The town is blessed by a glorious setting, the emerald green bay with steep mountains as a dramatic backdrop. The town itself is graced with more stylish Venetian palazzos that you can shake a stick at. But Kotor also suffers from the curse of colossal cruise ships, which can flood the tiny town with hundreds of tourists at once, even in October. There are lovely walks either side of the bay with cafes that have the most scenic views imaginable. It's a good way to get away from the crowds and to enjoy the spectacular panorama. If I had my time again, I would spend three nights in Kotor instead of six and spend at least two nights in Perast, an improbably picturesque spot.Guest review byMarkUnited Kingdom - 6.0

It is a typical city on the Balcanian coast. The main big problem at the moment is a heavy traffic when you enter the city from the east or south east. You spend a lot of time there and if you go for attractions in the neighbourhood, you have to calculate with this, In fact, it is a waisting of time. I'm afraid my impression of Bar was that it was industrial, a bit ugly and not very well looked after.(Sorry Bar, maybe I didn't go to the right places!) Wanting to visit places that are not yet wholly given over to tourism, is a two edged sword; it means that the 'pretty views' are often obscured by something utilitarian and not pretty! I took a taxi boat to Sutomore beach, which was a lovely trip and incredibly good value. The beach and water was fabulous but I think every person in the whole of Montenegro had had the same idea and the beach was extremely crowded. My reason for visiting Bar was to do the train journey from Bar to Belgrade, which I had read was one of the most beautiful in Europe. Perast is a magical place, almost removed from time.
Perast is a magical place, almost removed from time. The situation on the waterside surrounded in all sides by mountains is breathtaking. The walk along the promenade each evening is a rare pleasure. There are plentiful good restaurants inside Perast itself as well as local oyster and mussels farms a short walk from the town, that serve delicious food. From the sveti stefan bus stop, it’s very easy to get around, buses to Budva Old Town run every 20 minutes, cost €2.5 one way, and take about 20 minutes. Taxi from Tivat airport is around €55–60 and takes about 40 minutes.
