- From US$142.82 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.6Good - What previous guests thought, 1,298 reviewsWhat a gem 😊. If peace & quiet is what you're after, with spectacular turquoise sea & white sands, with completely safe swimming, then Chantauvent should be your choice for your first few days on Ile Maurice. The staff are very helpful, kind, yet very quiet and the breakfast is absolutely superb. I had the bottom floor room with a kitchen which was fantastic. The fridge is nice & big too. There are lovely, fresh, bright white towels in the bathroom & one asks at reception for a beautiful turquoise coloured swimming towel. This is quite an exclusive B&B, but tranquil & 'far from the madding crowd". Worth it to stay here for a few days 👍 P.S. and do please go and eat at Blue Bamboo....the most exquisite food & vibe just a short walk up the road...and 1 of only 2 places in my 16 day trip, where I could get a beautiful, big, fresh & colourful salad. Was simply delicious!Guest review bySusanneSouth Africa
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 789 reviewsHalf board option with buffet breakfast with marvelous dishes in taste and presentation and delicious dinner in all the restaurants. Spatious rooms, plenty of space on the domain including the beach. A bonus is a heated pool for cooler days. You have included a lot of activities like cycling, and light water sports. People around were always smiling and they were very helpfull in the customer department. You get a personal assistant who solves all your issues. We have to thank to Nisha and Hannah for the dedication, commitment and joy in making us a holiday of our dreams.Guest review byVlad DamianRomania
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 483 reviewsLovely location close to the beach. We had a ground floor garden room which felt secluded and quiet. The added convenience of leaving front or back was great. The meals were amazing - buffet breakfast very extensive. Lunch at Infinity Blue super, the chicken Caesar salad was sooo lovely, had it a couple of times. Staff very attentive, 3 or 4 especially impressive. Pools lovely, although the children’s pool had the best view of beach and sunset.Guest review byShelaghUnited Kingdom
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 999 reviewsWe had a memorable stay. The resort has a wonderful location with three seas surrounding it. The staff was extremely courteous and polite, they went out of their way to make us feel welcome and satisfied. The resort facilities and infrastructure were great and plenty of activities were held through the day. We chose their all inclusive package and its completely worth it.Guest review byJIMIT RAJESHIndia

My flight landed very late and I reached the property around midnight. Mr. Jefferson was kind enough to give me a room upgrade ensuring I had a comfortable and peaceful stay and accomodated a late checkout as well. Breakfast was very good with great service provided by Ms Preeti and Ms Karishma. Would definitely visit again.Guest review byRichaIndia

The town offers a more authentically local atmosphere than beach resorts, although admittedly there is no beach on this part of the Mauritian coast, so the area attracts a different kind of traveller. It is a rather run-down place but has considerable charm. The waterfront is a lovely (if windy) area to stroll around and the town has some interesting historical attractions - also a few kilometres away, in Vieux Grand Port, the site of the first landing on the island (by the Dutch, in 1598). One matter to be aware of concerns going out for dinner in the town. There are plenty of restaurants in the central area, many of them very welcoming and with very good food, however: - the streets are very poorly lit after dark, resulting in considerable stretches where a torch/phone light is useful; - most streets have no pavements, or very uneven/poor quality pavements where they do exist, so you have to walk in the road - watch your step and beware traffic that rushes past, often very suddenly (however, the local drivers are good at swerving to avoid pedestrians)! - unnervingly, there are large numbers of dogs roaming around on the streets - this seems to be the case all over Mauritius, even in the capital, albeit to a lesser extent. By day they are very placid and tend to shy away from people, but after dark they are often uncomfortably territorial and can be aggressive.Guest review byDavidUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Nothing was lacking
Nothing was lacking The 2nd floor villa with a balcony view to the garden and sea was private with a superb vista it had a very well stocked kitchen with excellent cooking facilities. Every attention to detail had been given with pottery and art it was aesthetically pleasing. provisions were easy to get and at short distance to obtain. what wasn’t evident from its description was its peace and privacy which for us gave the restorative and restful holiday we required.Guest review byAnnaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We stayed for a day at the Shandri Beachcomber (bought a day pass) and the snorkeling from their beach was fantastic . Absolute amazing location but I wouldn't stay overnight there. Way too exensive for a dated resort and we weren't impressed by the quality of food and drink (it is an all inclusive resort) but you can't beat the location.Guest review byMariaAustralia - 10.0

Excellent location in an area that boasts greenery and nature at its best. Tamassa Bel Ombre is located next to two golf courses, a natural reserve and barely minutes away from other landmarks in Mauritius (south). Roads are safe - so it's easy to drive around but if you are after a complete relaxing holiday, venturing out of Tamassa is purely an extra then. The resort is fully equipped and offers a great opportunity for swimming, snorkeling, para-kiting in a well protected and clean bay.Guest review bySaidMalta - 8.0

Mahébourg has a beautiful waterfront. I prefer the modern part of the city versus the downtown area which has narrower streets. Historical Mahébourg Museum is worth visiting. Don’t forget the delicious Biscuits Manioc!Guest review byFrancoiseUnited States - 10.0

I came in with some reservation due to the wind that was considered to be a problem by other visitors. Some others were ranking the West coast over the East Coast (we were on the East Coast) but after visiting the entire island, we were very happy about our choice.Guest review byAlbrUnited States - 10.0

No ATM to draw cash.. most shops only deal with cash. Blue bay has a bus stop that takes 15 minutes to get to Mahebourg from where you can take a bus to any part off the Island. The Blue Bay Beach has absolutely clear and still water making it a wonderful experience just to laze in the WaterGuest review byVijendraSouth Africa - 10.0

I stayed here with my 3 kids, the kids club looked great although we didn't use it. We stayed for 3 nights and that was enough for us to break the city routine of our everyday life. Krishna from the concierge organised a fun day out to Chamarelle where we saw the 7 sand earth, giant turtles and the magnificent waterfall. We ended the day at Curious Corner which the kids (and I loved).Guest review byMonaUnited Arab Emirates
