Very convenient location,a few minutes walk from the beach but quiet and peaceful. All the staff were extremely hospitable and willing to assist in any way, their special buffet evenings were also delicious.Jumbo supermarket less than 2 minutes away .

Excellent hotel. The food, the setting and the comfort all five stars. The highlight is the nautical activities included - they offer really a lot of things for the guests to try and are very friendly and accommodating. The water is the dream blue and the space is amazing. The golf club has exquisite terrain as well. We can’t wait to come back.

Best stay in mauritius. It was raining when we checked in at night so getting there was challenging but well worth it. Even though we weren't blessed with sunshine during our one night stay, the room is absolutely gorgeous and staff also great. Our server Danny definitely deserves a shout out. Highly recommend especially great for romantic getaways.

We spent our honeymoon at the Sugar Beach Mauritius. To put it all into one sentence: we could not have made a better choice and are soo happy and thankful for the amazing experience we had there. Everything about this hotel is exceptional: the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, the great variety and perfect quality of the food, the fantastic location at the beautiful paradise-like beach, the furnishing and amenities of the room, the beautiful sea view… What we were especially pleased with is that we did not book the special honeymoon package on the hotel’s website. We only told the reception about our special occasion a few weeks prior to our arrival via the chat. Nevertheless we received all the wonderful special gifts that come with the honeymoon package. Thank you very much!! we could have stayed forever and will definitely come back in the future.

The unforgettable honey money. Thank you to lux le morne we had the chance to live the perfect vacation, it was like a dream. The location is amazing starting from the rooms, most of the them have a fantastic view of the ocean, the beach is amazing with crystal water and many fishes on the corals you can spot while snorkeling and cover by many palm trees, le mont le morne is visible from the hotel. The staff is kind and pay attention to the welfare of the guests. The food has been amazing. The perfect place for an honey moon. We hope to come back one day with our family, to show them where their parents have spent the honey moon.

Loved the location, the food, the quality of drinks, the easy relaxed beach, the comfy pool, the room was really nice and I had a great sea view - after a small debate with the staff who tried to put me in the annex across the road. Hold your ground and they'll make sure you're in the main resort. Honestly this was a fabulous stay and I would come back. I really enjoyed how sweet the staff were. Ray on the beach, happy birthday to your little girl! You deserve a raise and all the tips. I was so welcomed and it was lovely.

Everything! Excellent hotel with excellent staff and facilities. Nice big rooms with the best shower I've ever had! Great sea view and big balcony. We booked have board and I would definitely recommend as there is only a few restaurants around. Big supermarket 10 min walk away. Staff booked us a dolphin boat tour late one night for the next morning, it was all sorted in 30 mins. The boat picked us up and dropped us off at the beach at hotel. Best hotel I've ever stayed at.

Walking on the beach was fun, and the water allowed easy swimming even for the not-so-strong swimmer. The food carts added restaurant variety. We had good meals at Bouganvillea and Chez Pepe, but also enjoyed eating in and watching the sunset. Lovely shopping, interesting people, and the public bus service worked for us. However, it was interesting that the same trip was free outbound and then cost 100 rupees (3 people) for the return trip (with no tickets issued).

Tu beach is just amazing, the color of the water is impressive, in the public beach you have to possibility to see the see turtles. The place is a piece of paradise. Definitely worth to go and to spend some time there. I would recommend an hotel next to the le Morne beach most of the hotel do not have the possibility to eat or rent the sun bed just daily. Also I would recommend the experience of swimming with the dolphins that is offered almost everywhere.

We liked the area close to the Riviere Noire Reserve and it was convenient for the quieter beaches on the south coast. We recommend a guided tour of the Ebony Forest Reserve. We had a fascinating day out with a very knowledgeable guide and saw a lot of birdlife; the views out to sea are also stunning. Be warned: driving in Mauritius is not easy, even with satnav! We got lost several times, especially around Port Louis. If you choose to go to Port Louis, we recommend using the local bus. There is a bus stop two minutes' walk from the apartment (shortly before London Way supermarket). You can pick up a bus at about 7.30 am and return on a 119 bus at 30 minutes past the hour from Immigration Square near the waterfront of Port Louis. If you want to eat out, the Happy Rajah restaurant on the main road serves good value Indian food. The fish thali is particularly tasty.

It's a properly rustic paradise area, away from the more fabricated hotel resorts. Lots of locals who know one another and it feels safe, if a little rough around the edges. It has its own cultural and geographical charm that seems to differentiate it from other parts of Mauritius. Lots of places to eat, a good supermarket - seems expensive for the area, but I think this is quite common. Good offers of boat hire to get over to Ile aux Benitiers, which is well worth it. Close proximity to the lovely Morne peninsular and Black River Gorges National Park and surrounds.

Sure La Preneuse is the nearest beach, though If you're looking for the best beaches around, take that trip to Le Morne beach, it's worth it. We went to the only Thai restaurant in the area,'Ousaporn', indeed an oasis in that small town, great Deco, felt right, the staffs were admirable, the food was succulent but portion were quite small disproportionately over-priced . A day at the beach at Flic en flac is worth the tour, watch the sun set into the deep sea, then hit one of the restaurant around the area.

La Gaulette does not have a beach and the sea there is ugly. Le Morne (which is very close) is the only place nearby with a nice beach, but it is widely occupied by luxury hotels. another problem with La Gaulette is that it is not usable as a base for visiting Mauritius, becasue is far away from all main attractions except 7 color earth and Black River falls.
